Hi there,
I messed up with an Xperia T LT30p a friend gave me...
I manage to install CWM after flashing 7.0.A1.303 with flashtool.
I think the bootloader was locked and I tried to flash PACMAN ROM straight forward.
Tring to reboot... impossible to get anything on the screen...
When I long press the power boutun it vibrates but thats it.
When I connect it to my computer nothing,.. no usb detection.. flashtooll says device disconnected.
Any ideas ? What should I try to revive it ?

I've had this problem and unbricked it (but I'm having permissions issues, but I digress).
The following assumes: a) You have Windows and b) you already have a stock FTF downloaded (if not head to the first page of the Q&A)
Just follow these steps:
Unplug phone
Open Flashtool
Click the Flash button (with the lightning bolt)
Click Flashmode
Click on the FTF that you have downloaded, and select all Wipe options
Click OK
When the dialog with the animations of the bottom of a phone and the USBs appears:
Hold the volume down key until your LED lights green and vibrates
And plug in while holding volume down
Wait for reboot
Enjoy!
Let me know if you succeed or if you get any errors.
And, you know, hit thanks if you end up triumphant.
Tried 2 times but it stopped both times :

You can not flash Pac man Rom with a locked bootloader.
You need to long press both powerc and volume up buttons until the phone vibrates, keep holding then until it vibrates 3 more times.
Then run pccompanion and run software update, choose the repair option and then attach the phone in flash mode

I confirm some crazy file permission problem after recovering from my mess.
Is there a quick way to wipe the internal memory ?
I'm now stuck in 4.0.4, unlocked bootloader can't root with the restore method..
any ideas ?
thx again
If you have a unlocked bootloader just flash a insecure kernel to get root.
No need to use bin4rys method.
Just go ahead and flash doomlords kernel from the thread in the dev section

Well, that is something I have yet to encounter. Try doing some research on bricks, b/c mine was a soft brick, and yours just may be a hard brick. I'll do some searching tell you what I find.
EDIT: Ok, ignore me. gregbradley knows his shtuff so listen to him.

I fix my permission issue by simply wiping the internal memory
I then managed to root the phone easily.
Now I struggle to install TWRP with Goo manager
I might try to flash a recovery via fastboot
Can someone tell me how to boot in recovery then ?
Many thanks
You rbest bet is to install a custom kernel with recovery included, there are plenty about in the dev section.
If you have not unlocked the bootloader you need to install cmw for locked bootloaders. Find the thread in the dev section.
Finally read post 2 and 3 in the all in one thread to find out how to enter recovery

I'm bloody stuck on .303
Anytime I try to flash a kernel I end with grey triangle with a blue bar on the butom
Then only thing I can do is flash back .303 ftf
I can get to CWM 4 ICS / I can't get to TWRP 4440
Ican't flash .489 OTA get error, same with PC companion...
I'm I stupid ?
Is there a clean way to get from ICS to JB ?
Again Greg and everyone many thanks!

When you get the triangle just wait, it will eventually boot, but it may take a long time...
plus if you flash a kernel you need to be on the correct rom for that kernel before booting.
can you tell me the exact steps you have done including the links to the files you have flashed

hello again, my phone is alive again, i won't mess with it till my exams are over.
here is what happened
i kept staring at the flashtool log, and suddenly i got flash complete message bla bla bla
i booted my phone and it's working again, but took more than usual to boot, about 5 minuts, last time i flashed a rom it took just 2 minuts or less..
i think that my flashtool has a glitch, because it was flashing, but with no green progress bar ..., i feel sorry for y phone i disconnected it about 5 times during flashing, i wonder what are the consequences ? please techno sparks if you have any comment about this and about what happened, share it with me, i want to learn and add something to my dictionary
also i have few other questions if you don't mind please answer them :
1) is what happened to me during the CWR normal ? common bug ? or am the first unlucky one to get this error .. ? i mean every thing was going smooth, till i chose the go back to main menu, the menu disappears, and only the log on the bottom is still there, showing done as last command
2) what do you recommend as a recovery to use in the future ? i thought to use CWR beceause most rom tutorials recommend it... also i never used or explored the other recoveries
3) why does my phone after it was bricked( shows sony logo when i turn it on, and stucks there for ever) connects to usb in flashmod automatically when i connect it to pc, even if i press the up vol button to connect it in fastboot mod
4) why won't my phone go to fastboot mod( as you've seen in the log in my first post)
5) all i wanted was to use the boot.img(kernel isn't it ?) from existenz rom( as i thought it has recovery preinstalled on it) and skip things a bit( installing original ftf, root, install recovery ...) and boot directly to revory and flash existenz...
6)as a thought not a question, i will try to answer the 5th question, ===> fastboot is only available to devices with ubl ?? but if the phone gets bricked similar to my casr, and even though it has ubl, , i think it won't boot to fastboot beceause all system and data are deleted ? this means the phone has no kernel or anything inside to boot into.
sorry if this has been too long or has very stupid questions, but im still getting into android world and the way is still too long to get to your level, and i want to get there asap

First boot after flashing the stock ROM always takes time with any phone. You should have already knew that.
Do not attempt to pull out your phone during flashing process. This could give you a hard-brick!! If you want to know what happened, the phone literally stops receiving data from the computer, and whatever the thing that was in the flashing process, will become incomplete on your phone. Say, flashtool is flashing system.sin and then you disconnected it, this will cause your phone to have a faulty /system partition.
CWM shouldn't act that way. I recommend reinstalling the recovery thoroughly
I prefer CWM
The phone was unable to find the correct boot flag OR unable to find the ROM's necessary init (startup) files. Flashmode and fastboot mode however are hardware exclusive. But I don't know what will happen if we wipe /boot partition. However I strongly suggest don't do that.
Now, to answer your question accurately, it seemed your phone was still on the bootloader, that is why your phone automatically connects as flashmode. The boot sequence are POWER > Bootloader > ROM.
No you must install the original ftf as mentioned in the thread. If you want shortcut you may use MrSteve555's guide on how to make a stock ROM flashable zip here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54351969&postcount=2 .
boot.img is an image for the /boot partition in the rootfs (root of the file system).
Fastboot mode is available for all android devices! It doesn't matter if it is UBL or LBL, fastboot mode is always there by default unless altered by any third-party.
To boot into fastboot mode, you'll need to hold volume up when requested in the Flashtool. YOU MUST FIRST turn off your phone.
I don't know where fastboot resides, I am sorry. But I am sure fastboot is not in the /system nor /data. Kernel is a layer that enables software to interact with hardware, thus, what you have mentioned is correct.
No problem, I always be glad to answer any questions when I know the answers
thanks again, still have few other questions if you don't mind :
1) my was my phone stuck in the bootloader? i thought that turning it off from the back button would make it turn off completely, then it would boot all over again
2) i tried connecting my phone whilst holding the volume up button, but it won't connect in fastboot mod
3)when i tried flashing the boot.img, i thought that it's the kernel
in another thread in this forum you posted instructions to another newbie fella, telling him to flash William kernel and as it has preinstalled recoveries, then just boot into one and flash a rom directly, saving the time of flashing stock ftf, rooting... etc

The button is for a forced reset. If you have problems with your boot partition, your phone will never boot, regardless of how many times you have use the hardware reset button lol
That is weird. Could you confirm that you have done it correctly?
boot.img is a /boot partition img file. Kernel files resides in there.
Sorry for the extreme lateness. I am now no longer have hours of free time lol
So, I just bought a Z3C, I had a Z1 before, it was rooted with locked bootloader, so I understand some of the stuff.
Anyway, I applied root, installed the Dual Recovery, did a backup of my DRM keys, and everything went alright, then there was this update, which I remembered that, on the Z1, I would lose root and Dual Recovery after it was done, but since I already knew they worked, I thought about installing it (Can't remember which version it was, but I think it was a KitKat version).
Anyway, the phone rebooted, it goes "Sony", then the official recovery android logo with the error message in RED. I did notice though that there seemed to be another screen an instant before the error showed up.
I can run fastboot, tried "reboot-bootloader, it gave me a finished, but seems like it did nothing, as it's still recognized by fastboot. If I try to run normally, it gives me the update error. Is there a way to fix this? There is nothing on the phone, so wipe is not a problem (Unless it may affect the SD, which would be bad).
Download an ftf for your phone. Flash it via flashtool using flash mode (flashception)
Try 23.2.A.1.62 HK ftf from the list of ftfs in xda.
Sent from my D5833 using XDA Free mobile app
Tried, but no success. Tried 2 times, below is the log. One thing I found out is that, this bootloop is based on a 1 minute Flash Mode (message: Device connected in flash mode) and 30 seconds of Sony logo - Update Failed (message: Device Disconnected), and seems like I can't stop it, like fully turning it off by holding the button next to the SIM card slot until the 3 vibes, it always disconnects and tries to boot, looping every time it's connected.
It basically disconnects while the files are prepared, but when it finishes, if the phone is disconnected, it will give a "waiting for phone popup", then the phone returns to flashmode, and then there are the errors below.
As an extra piece of the behaviour, not sure if it helps, but while flashmode seems to be tied to normal boot, fastboot works alright, no reboot, constantly connected.

Maybe someone can help?
+ i always get different erros or just stuck...
Lets go together through this, lets take some steps to determine the problem.
1. Check the firmware! Make sure you are installing the right firmware and the download is not corrupted.
2. Check the DRIVER!!! Always important to uninstall the driver restart your pc, and then install the official fastboot driver from Sony Developers site.
3. Check your cable! Try with another cable, yours might be faulty
4.Check your timing, make sure you plug the phone into flashmode just the right second, you dont have much time, try several times until you get it right.
Quote me on this thread or PM me because I might not read it. Good luck!
Hello it seems that I can't boot my phone in to Flash Mode. I looked up into forums on how to boot X8 to Flash Mode and so I followed it, Hold the back button-connect the usb cable-wait for the green led. It did work, but after some time, the green led will disappear and it will try to boot on the OS.
I need to flash stock rom on it because I soft-bricked my device. The Flashtool recognizes the phone in Flash Mode but when I start flashing the rom, it gives me the instuctions to place the device on Flash Mode, but then when the green LED dissapears, the instruction windows too, and flashtool starts to flash but then failed with an error, here is the output log from Flashtool..
