Look in the dev threads, there's two there already. FYI, some VZW apps have to remain like VoiceMail but if you read the threads they'll explain why.

I know this is not the Q&A thread. Don't shoot me. But i figured this was a dev question. Does anybody think or have tried flashing the stock droid ultra ROM to the moto x since they are VERY SIMILAR phones? Is it possible? Can it be done? Has anybody tried? If not and I was to try it do you think I can flash stock moto x IMG files back to normal? Or will i fubar my bootloader. Running Moto x Dev edit Verizon. These are questions that have been running through my head. Just thought I might ask. And is anybody willing to help me look into it? Thank you for taking the time to read and reply.

Very similar is never close enough. Any ROM for a different phone will not work for a different device. Some exploit methods work on multiple devices but never Roms and kernals.

I only asked cause if cm11 pac-rom etc could do it maybe we could. Thanks for answering though. It was worth a shot. I just miss my droid ultra?
They are the same phone in almost every way and yes the builds are compatible, or at least the 4.2.2 and 4.4 builds were last year. When the leaked T-Mobile 4.4 build came out, I was running it perfect on my vzw moto x DE and at least one other person was running it on their droid ultra/maxx with no issues.
So your question for the devs was just answered by non devs. If you KNEW you were posting in the wrong thread, but wanted to make sure you got noticed please follow the rules next time. It's not like you didn't know this does not belong here.
Only try this if you have an unlocked boot loader. If you are locked then you are out of luck. Still recommend finding a build for your phone.

i posted here thinking maybe devs have already tried it and/or have a workaround for it. i'm not going to start a fight with you over the internet cause thats just petty.
Moved here as this does not belong in the Development Section, OP please read the Forum Rules on posting.
Is anyone willing and able to create a thread which will organize the various radio files that we could flash on Pure edition Xt1095? Haven't seen one so just asking. Used the latest Brazil one from 5.1 release, latest Pure soak test, and now back to original. Would be cool to have some organization for us pure users

If someone could post not only the victara 5.1 radio chart but also gives proper information about working GSM|CDMA|LTE bands with each radio, then it would be the whole story.

Still nothing? I ve searched high & low for these guys. I have a Brazillian Marshmallow update & no radio connection
I had the hunch that maybe just extracting the files [idk what they might look like either] and putting them onto this phone, some Frankenstien work.
I read on another dead thread that someone copied fsg.mbn & NON-HLOS.bin from a different rom and they got it to work, I had no such luck.
My main issue was getting my 6.0 in any way but since I have the Moto Pure [& a low end AT&T network Defense Mobile] I should just get this update naturally. OTA seems like it has its fair share of Stagefrieght itself. AND SO, HERE WE ALL ARE.
This shoud help us out for now...
WHAT DOES A RADIO FILE LOOK LIKE?
---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 PM ----------
HEY I found this Thread your looking for its Moto phones starting @ Moto G but it could cbe converted to all Moto or be remade for Moto X.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649763
If there are any senior members that know how to do this, Id be happy to learn how to set this up on Xda for everyone.

I've messed up my XT1092 and believe that the radio file might be what I need to fix it, so I'd also appreciate a big thread being set up. I've also made a request thread here for the particular file I need.
edit: managed to fix it using the modem file from 5.1. Details are in my thread, linked above.
Hi all,
I'm having trouble finding a root guide for the XT1072, in fact I can't find a single ROM dedicated to this phone am I missing something or does it share ROMS etc with other models? Can someone verify?
Many thanks.

have a look here

I use Verizon and have a XT1096 that I unlocked the bootloader on and installed CM 13. I really miss the Moto specific features so I'm looking to go back to a Moto ROM. Are there any Moto Marshmallow ROMs that will run on my XT1096 and still connect to Verizon radios?
Thanks!

Awesome, thank you. This is exactly what I'm looking for, not sure how I missed it. Though it seems like it is still a bit too unstable for my liking. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the thread to see how it progresses and I'll probably make the jump soon.
Thanks!
I hate to sound so new build asking this question but with all the variants and threads kind of combining I'm a little confused. I'm not new to xda or rooting or installing ROMs to Samsung devices and have searched but am not getting quite the confirmation I'm looking for.
I see that anyone with the g950u can get root now and that's awesome but are ROMs device specific between all the different variants? I see there is atleast one room that's says g950u in the title of the thread can anyone clear this up for me please?

The U.S. devices (g950u) still have a locked bootloader - the first piece of software executed when you power on. Being locked means that it (the CPU) is looking for a specific key (the public signature) embedded in that code before it continues loading the code _ one that only Samsung/Verizon has authorized. To change that public signature yourself, you need the other half of the key (the private key) and that is akin to asking Samsung for all its source code to every device it makes -- never going to happen!
It will only continue the boot process if the signatures match for the next part (basically the ROM) of the code. A custom ROM won't match that signature, so the bootloader won't execute the ROM code. Having 'root' means you have control over everything software related in the ROM *after* it is booted into the ROM - meaning you're already past the whole signature part.
Unless someone finds a backdoor or security flaw that can be exploited on the bootloader (unlikely), or Samsung (or more likely Verizon) gives us a program to unlock the bootloader (even less of a chance), we won't be seeing any ROMs for the g950u. So, do like I did and shut off all the Samsung gunk (I use all of Google's apps because they behave the same way on every device I own - I can't stand Samsung apps or TouchWiz!) that you can, load Nova and set it up to behave the way YOU want it to work. Then just enjoy what you have!
Thank you for your answer I will root and try to make it more like Google
Great post rhricik! Best explanation I've heard in a while.
From what rhricik posted, it sounds like one can't root because the bootloader is locked in the Verizon version?
Are the bootloaders locked on the AT&T and T-Mobile versions?
