[Q] Anyone have battery stats when paired with Android Wear? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I want to pair off the S6 Edge with a future Android Wear watch, but I'm not sure how much that will suck away at the battery. Does anyone have any experience pairing the two up? Is anyone able to elucidate?

I'll let you know, I have mine paired with my moto 360

Here are my stats

I haven't taken any screen shots but I've been using my moto 360. Seems to be about the same as my one m8. I will try to remember to grab some screen shots tomorrow.

My stats after pairing the watch about 1600. I don't think I've ever gotten the 4, 5 and 6 hour SOT that others are posting. But then again I quit worrying about battery life long ago and just use the phone. Especially with this fast charge available on the phone, just ordered the fast adaptive car charger from samsung.
I'll post stats tomorrow of using it all day.

sony liveview for galaxy note 1?

guys i am planning to buy sony liveview, is it working in our note 1 (n7000)? i there anyone using it?
Is it battery eater for our note?
I've got one and I've used it on my Note 1. The battery drain on the phone is not a problem it's the battery on the LiveView that's the problem. It only lasts about 4 hours.
I'm trying to get a cheap Sony Smartwatch.
If you have any problems then feel free to contact me.

Really? It only lasts 4 hours? Even if it is new? Why is it in the specs it says that it lasts up to 4 days?

It also loses connection quite frequently too.
It honestly does last for only 4 hours. Unless I've got a duff one with a weak battery.

So it is not really helpful? Thanks for the info. I decided not to buy since i knew that it also loses the time and date if not connected in device

It does and it also loses connection when the phone and LiveView are together.
If for example I wanted to go to the toilet and that is leave both Note and LiveView on a table in another room or take them both with you. Neither are ideal.
I'm looking at getting a Sony Smartwatch I think the time remains if it disconnects.

S view cover battery drain?????

Anyone else seeing battery drain with their s view cover???
I just got mine today and almost immediately felt like I started seeing excessive battery drain.

I ran battery stats pro and better battery stats and they both found an app "mobile tracker" to be draining battery.
I got paranoid and did factory reset. Seems to be okay now and battery drain was not related to s view cover.

Is there any solution?

My s view original Samsung case exhibits very strange behaviour, when I plug in my charger the s view comes on for 5s then off then on for 5s then off and repeats until either I open the cover or unplug, then when cover closed again it goes through sane cycle, plus I too have massive battery drain - it is the wireless charging cover

Returned mine after the first day. It let's a little light in and screen will come on, thus draining the battery. It's junk until it gets broken in so it stays closed. Even then though it still won't stay closed enough to stop the screen from coming on randomly.

YES!
YES it is the s view ive gotten my note 3, on the first day the battery was AMAZING it lasted the whole day with the s view. But then the next day came and it started dropping, i asked my friends (they have the note 3) and they said theirs lasted sometimes 2 days!

I purchased the s-view cover that supports wireless charging. I went all out and purchased one of those hardened "real glass" screen protctors, and reading up about how the s-view doesn't quite close all the way, I also got one of those small magnetic clips that attaches really NICE to my s-view cover.
I'm telling you guys, it's the BOMB! I never ever need to actually plug my phone in anymore. I just set it on its wireless charging pad every night. The cover always stays closed, and since it's an official one, I just simply open it to turn on my phone.
never really notice any battery drain though.

Mine is hit or miss, doing the same things with the phone at the same places every day, some days it is decent and I will have 40-50% left when I get home, other days (like today) it was almost totally dead. That's with sync and wifi on, but location turned off. Its decent, but far from great IMO.
The battery life is WAY better than my wife's Nexus 5, but it is garbage compared to my international Note 2 I was using previously. I'd have 70-80% left when I got got home doing the same stuff as I am with the S5, plus I would leave Bluetooth, wifi, sync, location, and GPS on all the time.

I use everything on. On my S4 I didn't much, because my battery would die sooner buy with this battery so far I'm getting better life with more things left turned on.

Holding up much better than my S4 which I returned as I could barely get it to go 3/4 of a day without dying with normal usage. Now I end the day with at least 30% left. Also outperforming my iPhone 5S which would be close to dead by the end of the day. Very impressed!
great battery
I had an S3 before. When left alone at night, I can see phone 'Awake' numerous times. As viewed from Battery settings.
Except Gmail, I had sync disabled on every app. I also had most of the apps greenified. Still phone wakes up numerous times at night when not in use.
With S5, I have installed all the apps I had on S3. I have configured only few of them. None of them are greenified now. Also, I have left more apps to sync in background. Previous night, in the 9 hrs I left it alone, it woke only 2 times. Thats really good. In that 9 idle hours, battery dropped only 4%.
Battery is similar to the m8 (very good)... I'm thinking I'm going to have to return the htc

I'm really not getting very good battery life at all. I am shocked when I hear of others getting 5+ hours of screen on time. I'm getting nowhere near that and unfortunately for me I'm on my phone all day for work (calls, emails, etc.) because I work from home. This is also my 2nd SGS5. The first was having major screen issues and the capacitive buttons stopped lighting up for some reason.

Have you disabled all of the built in apps you aren't using? Try to cycle your battery. Go on your Google account and disable sync on thin you don't need. Or call ATT and ask for a replacement under warranty maybe your battery is bad. They are very good when it comes to warranty exchanges. Best of luck.

Fantastic battery life so far. Since unplugging it from the charger Wednesday morning, my battery is at 86% this morning! I do have the power saving mode on (not the ultra power saving mode, the regular one), and don't use it a whole lot during the day (not for hours on end at least, just a few minutes here and there)
Better battery life that I was getting on my S4.
I average about 5-6 hours screen time every day no matter if on WiFi or data.... I bet I could crack 7 if I was on Wi-Fi the whole time but yeah, coming from the nexus 5, this thing kicks the crap out of it in battery department
sent from my Galaxy S5
My first battery cycle I got 7 hours screen on time and the last two I haven't gotten more than 5 hour if that. I disabled about as much bloat I could. Can some one explain what it means to cycle your battery
I think the battery life has been really good so far...

Galaxy Gear: Higher Battery Capacity Replacement?

Hi there, I was disassembling my watch to be curious. I found the battery area and I noticed online there are micro batteries around the web. Do you guys think there is a way to get one of those batteries and fit it into the watch and use the ribbons (the wires) that were on the old battery and make them work with the new battery? I'm still trying to look for a good battery only if it is confirmed that one can do this. Thanks if you can help me out!

I'm thinking you've gone deeper into your gear than a lot of us...
Find a battery that fits, has similar voltage output, and let us know how it goes! :fingers-crossed:
for the size of 20mm x 30 mm you will be very lucky to find anything over 315mA
i had a quick search and i found 310mA etc
unless you can modify the case some how i dont think you will find anything

You rock! Thanks for putting this together. Any chance you can link the battery you used just in case anyone (myself included) wants to order it and make the update themselves? Not much difference, but as this device gets older it might be worthwhile to swap batteries.
Thanks again for the nice mod!

I have successfully replaced the battery before, but be cautious if you do get a gear, only tested on original gear. You have to switch the capacitors, or the battery will just drain, and it needs the same voltage. The LG G Watch I heard was a great device, and with the oneplus, the G watch has full compatibility. I used the gear once with a Droid ultra, I had problems with a few things, and no galaxy store. Good thing I'm back to my Note 3 (for now ☺).

Sharp battery drops. Problem with device, rom or battery?

I regularly have scenarios like this.
- phone is at 27% battery
- few minutes later it beeps and shows 14%
- 30 seconds later - 5%
- few more seconds and it shuts down.
I don't run anything special and through the day it lowers steady (although 100 to 27 in 12 hours is not that great).
I run official 5.0.1 rom and never unlocked bootloader.
So is it a problem with a phone, the battery or just OS that sucks?
Anyone else having the issue?

Most likely it's the battery. Have you looked to see what is using the battery in settings?

Nothing unusual running. I think Android OS was main battery user, may be with hour and half of screen time.
In this specific instance I was running Toyota app while driving.
But similar things happened before without those factors. And mostly it worked ok in the car as well.

Sorry I forgot that was in your OP. Did you look at the battery to see if it was hot or bulging even slightly? Personally for the $15 it takes to get a new battery, I would. Worst case scenario is you end up with a spare. I don't know how old your device (and this your battery) is, but it's not uncommon after 9+ months for them to start dying.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Yes, it probably makes sense to get new battery. I got the phone last November or December but problem started early summer. Seems pretty short time for battery to go bad.
Thank you

It's not unheard of by any stretch. Heat will kill them fast as well. Does the phone ever get hot?
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
I haven't noticed it being hotter than other phones I used. Yet I carry it in external pouch so would not always feel it.
It definitely wasn't hot when battery was dropping.
More over, last time I turned it off for 3 hours at 14% and when turned it on, drop just continued and it was 5% in 30 seconds.

I got not only a new battery but a new phone and have been experiencing a similar problem. Seriously might just jump ship to the N5. Any suggestions on what else to try? I really don't want to shell out $20 for yet another battery if it's not guaranteed to fix anything. I'm running PopRocks v14 with the stock kernel. Any suggestions?
I had the exact same issue. It was from letting the battery die too often. A new battery fixed the issue 100%
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
That's true. Running it down to 1% all the time definitely shortens the life. I'll try to find the article I read that interviewed battery scientists.
