Hello!
I'm the happy owner of a new Nexus 6 (using NEXUS for the first time).
I've just rooted my device using my Mac. Wow, it worked perfectly. But I have one doubt (only!).
The root process installed "SuperSU" in my Nexus 6. OK. However, I can find this app in the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu. It was updated in March.
The Play Store does NOT recognize it as an installed app in my device—probably because it was not installed via Play Store. Now I'm worried. How will I get UPDATES to this app? Should I install it VIA PLAY STORE? How? Should I uninstall it before and then re-install it via Play Store? I'm affraid of doing something wrong and loose root. Maybe it will override the app if I install it via Play Store? I'm totally lost.
Thank you!

Yes, you need to install the app in order to have super user access. The process you chose to use to root your device, simply installed the binaries needed for the app to work the way it was intended. Install the app, open it and follow the prompts.
Thank you very much for taking your time to answer to me.

Noob here! and I need help!
I had to go back to my old phone while my new one is being repaired...
It is the Sprint HTC Hero which used to rely on google market. Well Market is gone so now I need google play, but have no way to install it,'
Can someone help me determine how to get it installed?
I think that I need to root and update to a newer Android version, but I am not sure how to do that either.
Thanks.

Root using z4root and then install cwm and cm7. You can install cwm through rom manager.

Thanks. But I do not have an installer on this phone. It has been factory reset.
How do I run an .apk file without an installer on the phone? I would put one on...but I cannot get to google play and market is gone.
UPDATE: I don't know how I did it, but I managed to get google play to work and I am now able to install apps again. I believe the IAPK program that allowed me to install the .apk from my computer to the phone was the key. Thanks everyone that offered help.
Hi All,
Sorry for being a n00b here... I have a Kindle Fire HD 7, with Sytem Version 7.5.1. I'd like to install the Google Play Store. I should be able to, right? I used the SuperSU tool that roots your device. I had installed Google Store and thought it was working. Then when I tried to install an app from the store, App Store crashed. Now if I try to install the app store apk it just crashes over and over... Not sure if it's relevant, but since then I've done a factory reset on the Kindle. I was glad to see that SuperSU seems to have survived the reset. Anyway, the first question is, where is the best place to get the app store APK file? I don't remember where I got it last time, but I remember not being sure if it was the latest version. What is the latest version. And more importantly, how do I make it run on my Kindle? Many thanks for any ideas. -steve
Ok trying to install Google play store on my p9, Chinese version. But I can't open the play store after it's downloaded from huawei store. It just flashes then gone. Tried to give it full permission , uninstalled and restarted the phone a few times, but still the same problem. In huawei store, it says play store needs to be installed as system app, but I can't seem to figure out how to do so. Please help. Thx.

I tryed this method 3-4 months ago custom miui rom on my Xperia Z3C successifully. I hope you will do.
This is what shows after I open Gmail app. I don't understand, google play services is in my app list and appear to be running. I'm going to do a factory reset on my phone and start over the process.
Recently Sony has update all firmware and apps. Using the old apk for remote play no longer works. If there are any Sony Xperia users who are able to download the most recent remote play app for ps4 it would be very much appreciated if you could save the APK as a file and post it up for download. Thank you with any help.

I'm not sure how it worked before (I've just got the phone few days ago), but I have downloaded the Remote Play app straight from Google Play. Be aware that if you have installed an external apk you should not get prompted (nor allowed) to update it from Google Play. You must uninstall it first.
Oh, and a little hint: if you synched the phone with one that was rooted most likely you will have the SuperSU app installed. With that you'll get an 800 error. Simply uninstall it, since it is also useless at the moment (unless you unlocked the bootloader, but at that point I don't know how it works).
Does anyone know how to get Netflix working on a Rooted device? I found an older version on apkmirror that worked but it couldn't be updated through the Play Store. There's also the latest version that can be downloaded directly from Netflix but it tells me my device isn't supported when I open it.
Use Magisk Hide to hide root from Netflix. Works for me
I'm using this, just bootloader unlocked

Are you doing that with the version downloaded from the Netflix website? I just tried it and it still says unsupported.

How did you install from the Play Store version? When I go to the Netflix page it tells me my device isn't compatible.

I had exactly the same problem, however it fixed itself after a period of time....annoying I know and I couldn't find a solution either.
I don't believe its directly related to root, as if you googled the problem it exists for lots of other people.

Play services is by default hidden in Magisk. You don't need to hide Play store, but it doesn't hurt even if you hide... Main thing is to clear data.. I suggest to clear data of play store and restart.. if that doesn't solve, clear data from both and restart... Clearing data of play store usually works for me..
