[Q] Battery Drain After Installing xposed - Xposed General

Hi i'm a noob (ex-apple fanboy) i just got my first android device 2 weeks ago and cuz i wanted to run obb files for games on my external sd i rooted my device.then i flashed xposed to my phone using twrm recovery and installed xposed and the obb to sd module. Finally got it to work after much frustration until something strange happened.I went to sleep with my device at about 50 or 60% battery level and when i woke up my phone was dead.I was shocked.anyways luckily i did a backup before flashing xposed and am now currently restoring the backup.Cn xposed be the culprit here? this has never happened until i flashed xposed.I also noticed that my battery was really going down fast and when i checked power settings android system was using up 100% battery .Sense home too was using up a lot and ive never seen this happen before until now. Please advice me.I use an unlocked HTC One M8 with a Stock rom and TWRM recovery on lollipop 5.0.1

i i only had single module installed.the obb on sd module.anyways i did a restore from my NANDroid backup and my phone is back to normal .lost about 3% overnight. Is there an issue with xposed on lollipop 5.0.1 or the module itself.cuz i deactivated the module and rebooted but my phone was still draining quivkly until i decided to restore.now I dont have xposed on my phone anymore .

i really have to try almost all Module (whose work on my device) but nothing about Battery Drain.....

i'll try to flash xposed to my phone again and not install the obb on sd module maybe its the culprit.i wish someone would advise me tho

There shouldn't be any batt drain due to Xposed. DO CLEANUP and CLEAR your Download/Photos/Pictures folder.. Any sideloaded apk from 3rd websites do WAKE Play services + Play store and they'll start upload the apk for verification without your knowledge..

root gone after update?

Hi all so i have question, wasn't too sure on where to post it at and seems like this is the place, forgive me if I'm wrong. But i have a question, I have a ATT UNLOCKED Note 3 being used on T-Mobile, if i insert my att sim card that's deactivated, and update the phone to Lollipop, will the root go away? If so how do I re-root the ATT Note 3 with the Lollipop firmware, currently I have 4.4.1.
Thanks!

More than likely the update will fail to install since you are rooted. If you have Safestrap installed, you can flash this in Safestrap to be on rooted lollipop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2

You can put it on your internal storage then flash it what way. Use Safestrap 3.75, if you don't have it. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473398959 It will not wipe your internal storage. :good:

They say seeing is believing, so here is a video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2o7eke_oc1_tech Just freeze knox and if you get "gapps has stopped" message, go to application manager , then to all apps then uninstall the gapps update (Google Play services). So you know, you can't use Xposed with Lollipop. If you have any problems these are the STOCK N900AUCUCNC2 ODIN Files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54803130&postcount=136 Watch the video and you will see it will take about 8+ minutes for the first boot. Once you uninstall play services restart it (phone) and go to play store and let it update and it'll work fine then. Exposed installer and Viper4android will not work on lollipop. Trust me I know. I'm running this rom right now http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/development/rom-note-4-port-evolution-1-0-t2982296 it's not lollipop.

[Q] Why does my D415 have NFC???

I installed CM 12 on my LG L90 D415 about a month ago and I experienced some weird battery drainage. I went into my battery settings only to see that some NFC service was using 12% of my battery. I don't understand why there is NFC if I don't have the hardware for it. I do know that there are some models of the L90 that have NFC but not mine... I also noticed that under more there is a option for NFC which is blurred out and turned on...
What I Know:
- NFC is draining my battery
- I have no NFC hardware
- NFC option is blurred out and is on
- I (Mostly) go light on the battery and don't use it much with an exception for calling
- This started ever since I flashed the ROM.
What I Don't Know:
- Why everything above is going on...
I attached some pictures to help right below
There is no NFC for the D415 but it still installs in the unified roms (I used to hope there was NFC). Its just tries to use the service, but it can't which makes the battery drain.. I didnt realize that it would cause that much drain though. The only way to fix it is to get an uninstaller app (I use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp) and uninstall NFC service. Of course its a root app and it should get rid of NFC.
You have a super old CM version. It's still based on 5.0.2 when we all are using 5.1.1
Go to Quarx website and download a new build. Install it. Everything should work OK after that.

Thanks! By the time I see this, I am already using the stock rom! I think I can slowly go back to cm.
UPDATE: Case open again. I installed latest build of Quarx 12.1 Nightly but when I uninstall NFC services, it keeps saying com.android.nfc has stopped working.
Just reboot after the uninstall

So, before I even read this, I flashed the .zip for the system again because it should be able to add the file I deleted. After that, I read this. Then, I want to do what you said but it is no longer there...
Wat?
P.S. You responded fast

I did the same thing, uninstalled it with titanium Backup and after that got the same error. After the reboot it was OK
I'm having the same issue.
NFC is enabled im my device (LG L90 D410) and I cant uninstall it.
Tried using Titanium Backup to uninstall NFC Services, and it dit. But after the reboot NFC was still running, but this time under com.android.nfc, than I cant find using Titanium Backup.

Clean master auto start manager not gaining root access on viper rom 9.0.0-fix

HEY Guys.. Recently I tried Viper rom 9.0.0-Fix which is the latest updated version of lolipop Custom rom available for our beloved Sprint One m7. Everything almost works fine. all The functions... but just one 1 found faulty.. I installed Clean Master as I used to have in old roms. In Auto Start Apps Manager the SuperSu didn't grant root access even I just granted the root access to whole Clean master app.. Auto Start manager Helps stopping background apps using Ram and battery and I am using for a long time. But Suddenly it did not work in Viper 9.0.0- fix and as a result my battery started draining very quickly.. like 10% in last 15 to 20 minutes even after Screen off. I used Greenify but it did not enhanced much battery time. what do you guys suggest.. what's the main problem ? Is it the Rom ? or SuperSu ?
I'd suggest reinstalling the ROM and not using clean master. Viper is highly customized and so there might be a conflict between what they're doing and what Clean master is doing.

Can't reboot without Wiping Dalvik

Hello again XDA!
So this has become much more frustrating that I thought it would. My phone normally operates fine, just a couple minor software issues here and there, latest issue being my alarm not going off, tried disabling amplify in xposed as the issue only occurs if the phone has been idle for the night, figured maybe amplify might be blocking the wakelock or something. Just thought I'd share in case the module could be the root cause of both issues.
The issue I'd really like to ask about has to do with booting. As I said, the phone generally runs fine, but any time I reboot(or my phone dies) I have to wipe the dalvik in TWRP or else android just hangs on bootup indefinitely. Not only is this always a slow process(generally 15 mins of downtime) but it drains about 30% battery in the process. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and fixed it without wiping and reinstalling a rom from the ground up.
Currently running latest ICE Lollipop build 7.1.3, elementalX 22.4-sense kernel, and latest firmware, 4.19 I believe. Xposed running with just a handful of modules (greenify, snapprefs, xblast, youtube adaway, sense toolbox). I have tried using stock kernel and uninstalling xposed framework and apk to no avail. What does work is a clean install of the same rom with the same basic setup, but I didn't want to have to reconfigure everything if I didn't have to, so I restored my backup in the meantime.
I can't get a logcat ATM, maybe tomorrow after work if I have some time. I'm also not 100% sure how to grab one anymore since its been years since I last posted one, but would be happy to provide one soon.
cheers!

HTC One M9 serious problems with Magisk 15.3

I am struggling to get my m9 back to 'reasonable' battery life. I am running Viper 6.2.0 which comes with Magisk 14.0. I had updated it to 14.5 and had terrible battery (physically hot phone and battery life of about 2 hours - with a new battery). I tried updating to magisk 15.3 and SU quit working (adaware just came to a black screen and other root apps would not work) so I went back to 14.5. On the HTC forum, I was directed to try again and make sure to uninstall magisk from twrp before I installed 15.x. I had not done this before, but installed new Magisk versions over older ones. So I did try that. When I flash that full phone image from aroma (complete wipe) It complains that it cannot install Magisk 14.0 and asks to flash it separately. I happen to have a copy of 14.0 and 14.5 on my phone and can flash 14.5 from TWRP. This appears to work. But the resulting image gets hot. I restore the old boot image from the backup and try again. The only version of Magisk I can reliably flash to this image is 14.5 If I try to run the uninistaller from 1/13/2018, I get no odd messages in TWRP, but it will not boot (HTC logo appears and nothing more on both the OEM inage and Viper 6.2.0). When I install the 15.3 zip, I also get no strange messages in TWRP but the phone will not boot. I am stuck restoring from backup. What can I try?
I have restored the OEM image (installed from RUU), but I am running Magisk 14.5 on there but with 5.x Magisk Manager. In this format, SU appears to work but access needs to be granted at every boot and none of the apps show up in the list of SU enabled apps. On the SuperUser page it says 'no apps found' though the SU enabled apps do work.
A little more information. I saw this behavior before when I tried to update Magisk 14.5 to 15.3 and this was the reason I went back to 14.5. I was able to get 15.3 installed on the stock rom. Everything seems to work properly except adaware 3.2. (passes safety net, android pay seems to work, rooted apps still work). If I uninstall adaware and reinstall it, I get the same behavior. I get a black screen with a red titlebar for adaware. It appears to be requesting root access, but I never get a grant/deny dialog box. I have this behavior on both roms I have tried on the One M9 (stock and viper 6.2 based on 4.28.401.3). I just added the adblock module from TWRP and will see if the module for Magisk works for me. Thought you'd like to know. This is with stock install of HTC M9 4.30.612.12. I will post back if the phone still gets hot and burns a hole in my pocket.

Hi, I faced a similar problem on my OnePlus 3. Details:
Phone: OnePlus 3
ROM: Nitrogen OS Feb 6th, 2018
Magisk version: 15.3, upgraded to 16.0
Magisk Manager: 5.6.1
I had this issue since 15.3, when I upgraded to 16.0 the issue still remained. I cleared data and cache of the Magisk Manager app and that did the trick.
I can see the apps in the list, and no longer does it ask for Root Permissions for the same app repetitively.
Woo hoo. Tried this and it seems to be back! It is no longer burning a hole in my pocket. I'll run it for a few days and see if it is acceptable, but so far so good... Thanks.
Well after a week or so running this it is back burning a hole in my pocket. Light use and battery at 30% at lunch... Gotta go back to the stock rom.
Man I wish I could use this one...

You have not shown any kind of information what it actually is that is using your battery. BetterBatteryStats, GSam, etc...
If you could provide that, someone might be able to help.

Ok, I will try. I am running BatteryMix, currently. It does not show my anything truly useful, at least to me. It shows when my location, wifi and BT are on, but nothing stands out when I look at the programs running. It just shows a steep battery consumption curve from the moment I disconnect it from the charger in the AM. I will download BBS and see if anything becomes apparent.
My HTC HTC One M9 battery averages 1d 0h 43m (11h 15m 0s active usage) on a single charge.
This is all it says. The screen grabs show:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11yGgYLEcxnGiVN8KWd3GTo1f_9XNdu-J/view?usp=drivesdk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QW1Yl2GeseVhKyFFyytWXgOkI8_rz8Zt/view?usp=drivesdk
What more information can I provide?
Running it today and the same basic info shows. Android System chewing through 50% of my battery. I can give a catlog if needed or anything else. Since 15.x of Magisk, I have had poor battery life with this ROM. With a stock rom, I do not seem to have a problem. Battery lasts much longer
(edit: I had mangled links. Fixed)
