[Q] [MAXX] questions - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hi guys,
Just got myself a Maxx. It should be arriving soon.
My plan is to install CM12 as soon as I open it. So if the phone comes with KitKat, do I need to update it first?
What's the right way to do this? Root > Customer Recovery > Flash ?
Thanks!

RSD Lite to flash, right? Anything important to keep in mind?
If you don't mind, could you help with a link for TWRP? I found one titled 'test build only'
I really don't want to mess up this phone. Sorry If I'm being too annoying.
Thanks again!

Update:
All good! TWRP wasn't working for me so I ended up using CWM. Enjoying CM12.1
Thanks for your help!

It's a great phone, isn't it? :good:

Hey guys, CM ended up being a bit buggy for me (it's still green), so I'll probably switch back to stock.
Is Brazil 5.0.2 still the best stock ROM? Can I keep my cwm recovery? And lastly, can I root flashing SuperSU?
Thanks

Brazil 5.0.2 is the best. You can flash the full image, reinstall your custom recovery and then root with SuperSU no problem.

Wanting to flash back to stock T-Mobile rom, while keeping root? Is this possible?

Hi guys,
I'm looking to flash back to stock, however am wanting to keep root.. I can use rsd lite, or the Moto X toolkit, however am unsure if a) it will wipe data, and b) I am able to keep root..
I remember seeing a tmo stock rom floating around in a zip file before (can't seem to find it) and am not sure if it was indeed rooted..
Can anyone help me choose which direction is best?
Thanks much!

That's as close to stock as possible, if you want the stock odex T-Mobile ROM you'll have to rsdlite the T-Mobile sbf firmware and reflash recovery and root. Are you preparing for the 4.4.2 ota?

[Q] Kitkat Stock ROM

Hey guys quick question, i am currently living with my long suffering firmware that is jellybean...the phones needing a good clean out and update!
So i was wondering if there is a UK regional FTF for the latest kit kat?
BUT ALSO! i have seen generic ES (Spain) Regional FTFs for Kit Kat and i will be moving to Spain in September.. so should i just go a head and flash that? i don't know the difference between ES & UK (not that i have managed to find a UK version, maybe someone could point me in the right direction)
Also are these FTFs available for rooting? my phone is currently rooted with CWM and will most likely want to re-root after i have flashed with flashtools..
sorry to ask such nooby questions
Thanks
Chris

The UI is a bit different with lot of bloatware removed.
Battery drain will be there initially but it will disappear after play store automatically updates.
Hitting thanks will be more appreciated than typing it

I had rooted using the old school method because towelroot was not availabe then
Towelroot will work to root and its the easiest way at the moment.
After rooting just download and install SuperSU from play store.
After flashing firmware Bootloader wont be locked again
Kernel and Root are two different things
You will have to flash recovery again though as flashing firmware will remove the recovery
You can get the recovery from here
Dont follow root instructions from the link as you will be rooted after using towelroot

Return to 4.4.4 from CM11 (I cant)

Hi guys, first of all im really sorry for my english, i know is not good.
Right now my XT1053 has CM11 (4.4.4), im tired of some bugs and i want to return my phone to stock (4.4.4).
The problem is that my bootloader its from the last OTA 4.4.4, so when im trying to flash via fastboot the full image 4.4.3 im having some problems doing it (downgrade security).
If im not wrong there is not a full 4.4.4 image and my only option its flash the 4.4.3 one ¿but how?
¿Can i just skip the gpt.bin, flash everything else and then take the OTA?
u cannot downgrade! if u try, u'll end up with a brick.
flash a 4.4.4 image

Regarding flashing the OTA 22.21.16 .zip on xt1063...I'm using PhilZ CWM not TWRP. Before I try it, see any issues flashing this using PhilZ? Thanks.
UPDATED: Successfully flashed with PhilZ.
XT1063 22.21.16 update ?
so i'm running android 5.0 build no ( 22.11.6 ) on my moto g 2nd generation
and i've seen the new update rolling out for some folks out there
does anyone have a link or can upload the update package it self which is almost 60 MBs
i don't want to install a custom recovery on my phone for now so i just want to install the new build as a simple update package.
thanks in advance.

Thank you very much , i have updated my XT1063 to the latest build and it works flawlessly ,,, less lag ,,, more free RAM
I successfully flashed this to my consumer cellular xt1064. Everything works. The Bluetooth issue has been resolved, multi tasking is better than before. The phone is now recognised as xt1063, but that should not be any issue.

Sm-910t2 root?

Hello,
so I'm considering getting a Note 4 for backup. I'm going to be getting it from BestBuy. But while doing some research I noticed the model # they ship out is SM-910T2. It's supposed to be an unlocked version. Does anyone know if there is any difference in the firmware to the 910T? Rootable? Didn't find much info after further research. Appreciate any help.
If you check sammobile it looks as if that model never got updated pass 4.4.4. As for root, not sure but you can flash the firmware on the tmobile version 910T even from 6.0.1. Hope this helped.

Flash twrp recovery by odin
Boot into twrp
Flash supersu.zip from twrp and reboot. You will get permanent root with supersu binaries.
Uninstall kingroot from kingroot settings and full unroot before doing this method.
