[Q] Bootloop after OTA Update - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I have a problem. A Friend made an OTA Update at his HTC One(M7) and it may installed not properly. So now the Phone has a Bootloop. Firmware, Rom, Recovery and all are Original. What can I do to make it work? To use warranty and send it in is only his last choice.

The first possibility that will not void the warranty is to flash the latest RUU which will (should) fix the phone and update it to the latest version at the same time. Flashing a RUU will wipe everything on the phone. The ruu you need is the 7.19.401.2 version. You can download it from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944. You need to use the fastboot version mentioned in that thread.
2nd option is to send the device for repair if it still under warranty.
3rd option (will void the warranty) is to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery, flash the 6.09.401.11 stock rom, reflash stock recovery and update.

actually thats better than getting OTA
just download a custom rom like ViperOne or ARHD or InsertCoin and
copy it to your downloads folder
reboot your phone and hold volume down and it will enter the bootloader. go into recovery from here and wipe/factory reset and install the rom you copied to the phone. 10x better than waiting on OTA update
Edit: When rebooting the phone you may have a menu with the choice of booting recovery ..choose that

While you have the 1.55 HBOOT, you should get S-OFF. Much easier to do everything when you're S-OFF. Then you can go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52986564&postcount=1 and grab the 5.14.531.1 nandroid, flash it with TWRP and you'll be stock T-Mobile with the latest OTA. You can then root it easily by just flashing superuser.

[Q] Converting to Stock from Carrier Version

I've got a HTC One from EE (UK), who are being retardedly slow in providing updates.
So I'd like to change to a stock HTC and still receive OTA updates. I'd prefer not to change to Google Play Edition if possible.
My bootloader currently says:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** LOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-HTC__001
HBOOT-1.55.0000
RADIO-4A.21.3263.04
OpenDSP-V32.120.274.0909
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB
I've got TWRP installed v2.7.1.1
I've also changed my CID to HTC__0001 and also the MID to PC0710000 using the MID Change tool.
Its currently running Android v4.3, HTC Sense 5.5 and Software 3.63.61.1.
What do I need to do next? I *think* I need to install a RUU? but not sure.

You are right, you now need to run the .401 ruu. Just to be sure, you said you have changed your CID to HTC__0001 ? Its HTC__001 (only 8 characters)
stay s-off and bootloader unlocked after the conversion.
your twrp recovery will be overwritten with the stock recovery included in the RUU.
I did exactly the same thing with my Vodafone branded one, best move I ever made, I got the update a month before Vodafone started sharing it.
Just make sure you backup your current Rom and take note or remember your original cid should the worst happen and you need to return it for any reason, copy the backup , once created, to your pc before running the ruu.
I'm on EE too and in the process of grabbing all the files needed for this. My fone is 100% stock so need to unlock, root and S-Off yet.
I grabbed the RUU from here. 1.5GB. HTC Europe

Thanks, all done now.
Sweet. All go ok? No problems?
Might get time to do mine later this week.

[Q] How do I recover my (now soft-bricked) phone?

Hi everyone,
I just bricked my M7_UL and I need help on how to recover it.
How it was at the beginning (HTC One Stck bought in Spain, no carrier):
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
CID-HTC__304
HBOOT-1.54.0000
RADIO-4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-2.24.401.1
eMMC-boot 2048MB
What I did with it:
Unlocked bootloader via HTCDev (successful)
S-OFF'd it (successful)
Changed CID to GOOGL001
Flashed TWRP (successful)
Installed GPe stock ROM on it (successful but radio started failing -frequent 3G problems that required rebooting each time to get service back, Bluetooth problems-)
Flashed Android Revolution GPe (successful, radio problems persist)
Factory reset (went back to GPe stock image, radio problems persist)
Months later I got another phone and wanted to prepare the M7 for selling.
Changed CID back to HTC__304 (successful)
Tried to use RUU to go back to stock (htc_fastboot.exe crashes, the utility reports not the proper OS for the phone)
Flashed CWM (successful)
Flashed Guru Bootloader to relock bootloader (successful)
Tried to use RUU to go back to stock (htc_fastboot.exe crashes, the utility reports not the proper OS for the phone)
Note that I'm still S-OFF.
Tried to flash recommended radio (failed)
Flashed recommended firmware (successful)
And now the phone is in a bootloop.
How it is right now:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-HTC__304
HBOOT-1.54.0000
RADIO-4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-2.24.401.1
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Bootloader is locked, and recovery fails.
Where should I start to recover the phone?

Bricked my device, any advice?

Last week, I tried to root my device. I flashed SuperSU V2.65 (which I thought would root my phone), only I ended up in a bootloop.
My friend suggested a factory reset, so I did that, and now I boot to a black screen, it doesn't even finish the boot animation.
I did some research online, and discovered that I could use an RUU to fix my phone only there were loads of them, and I'm not sure which to use.
When I boot to the bootloader, I see this:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.61.0000
RADIO-4T.35.3218.16
OpenDSP-v35.120.274.0718
OS-7.19.401.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB
I live in England, and use a tesco mobile phone, which works on the O2 network. I have a few questions:
Is an RUU the best way to fix my phone?
I have a radio/baseband number (as shown in the image), is it important that this matches the RUU I am using, should I pick an RUU based on that?
If I use an RUU that is not my current version (I was using lollipop) can I reupgrade to lollipop?
Thank you for your help.
