[Q] Where is DDMS File Explorer? - Android Studio

I can't find the DDMS File Explorer on Android Studio 1.1
Where is it? I read somewhere there should be a tab on this "Android DDMS" window, but I couldn't find! I've attached a print screen of my window. (I can't post links because I'm new here, so I altered the link. Please remove the *)
print screen: ht*tp://goo.gl/p6E57U

Click on the green android robot in the toolbar which is to the left of the help button(question mark). Once it opens click on the file explorer tab.

ROM 1.37's Touch flow 3D's Opera Launcher fixed URL can be changed or removed now, #7

I have flashed to 1.37 Malaysia WWE ROM, under the 3D touch flow, when I click the browser, it opens to HTC site instead of a local search page like 1.34ROM. Is there a way I change it?
I have changed the startup homepage in opera setting but it didn't change the default page when you launch the browser from 3D touch flow.. any ideas to have it changed? thanks

when u open it at the adress bar u see from where the file (URL) is its shortcut in windows make a shortcut of a browser in your pc and name it the same thing as u had that is ( windows\htc-opera.html) so with your pc make a shortcut of internet adress u like and the save it to your desktop and then rename it to htc-opera.html and copy this to your device windows folder thats it !!
I have done that but it seems the opera launcher in 3D touch flow is hardcoded to www.htc.com. In fact under the globe icon in 3D touch flow, it has a line www.htc.com . I forget whether it is the same in 1.34 ROM. But so far I am not able to change that...
anyone got any idea? thanks
ok, i got tricked by this as well.
Look underneath the earth in the browser panel.
It says "Launch Browser - www.htc.com"
So I guess it always launches to htc.com.
To launch Opera only and on your predefined start page, use the Right softkey when on the browser panel. It's labeled BROWSER.
Irritating
i noticed the browser softkey, but i think there must be a way to change this... it seems this is not an issue with 1.34 rom
I finally resolved this issue; anyone who has the same problem go to "Application Data" folder and delete this file: InternetPortal-en-AU.xml. or you can edit the InternetPortal-en-AU.xml file , it will then go to whatever URL you have changed in InternetPortal-en-AU.xml when you launch it by the Globe Icon, don't worry, the Globe is still there. As a rule of thumb, back up the file before you make changes
Please note that this InternetPortal-en-AU.xml is a read only file, you need to copy it to your PC for editing the URL you want to go when you hit the Globe Icon. First, uncheck the "read only" tab in file properities. then edit it with notepad on PC. After you are done, rename it to InternetPortal-en-AU-new.xml ( your file extension may be hidden) , copy it back to Diamond's" Application Data" folder. then launch "File Explorer" in your Diamond, then go to "Application Data" folder, rename InternetPortal-en-AU to InternetPortal-en-AU-bak then rename InternetPortal-en-AU-new to InternetPortal-en-AU, You are done !

So what does the screen show now? I mean before you tap on the browser.
Is it still the globe, just without directing you to the htc official site?
without the file, it will go to whatever homepage you have set in Opera's setting, or you can edit the InternetPortal-en-AU.xml file , it will then go to whatever URL you have changed in InternetPortal-en-AU.xml when you launch it by the Globe Icon, don't worry, the Globe is still there. Thanks vaio for web browser tip!

I've finally got time to try this out, & it works like a charm! thank you so much!
Now... would it be possible to change the browser icon to something of personal preference? I saw a path inside the *.xml & it directed to a banner.qtf or something. Or is it embedded?
Anyway, just want to thank you for this huge help.
princEd, thanks for your kind words.. will keep searching for tweaks..
Hi all, can anyone post the original script for "InternetPortal-en-AU.xml" Thanks in advance..
Hi.
I don't have this XML file in Application Data too, and my Internet Tab is just useless : the globe button does strictly nothing, neither do the "browser" or "more" bottom buttons, and the youtube link below the globe displays an error message about missing file or incorrect certificate.
So I would like to :
make the "Launch Browser" button launch Opera 9.5b or at least Internet Explorer
if possible, make it launch my homepage or a customizable page
remove this Youtube link
learn how to add other links
having a link/button to one-click des/activate WLAN would be just GREAT
Can somebody post the content of the XML file ?
And of course, if anybody knows how to achieve any of the above...
Thanks in advance
Phone: HTC Touch Diamond
Original ROM (strangely hadn't TF3D though, had to install tlr-manila-38.cab)
TF3D version: 1.1.34569.0_1630.38
Opera 9.5 Beta (bizzarely located: \Program Files\9.5 Beta\opera9.exe), IE
try reinstalling an opera cab, it may ask you to remove the old version if you have one. reset and try again.
doesn't change anything

Help Please - File Explorer

Hi, I'm a noob, so please be gentle!
I want to navigate to the "windows" folder on my Diamond.
It won't show at all on File Manager on Windows Mobile Device Centre and when I try to open it on File Explorer on the Diamond through the internal storage route, it just hangs with a blank screen and the "timer".
Can anyone shed any light please, thank you.
Windows folder....
On your PC, you need to uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" or you won't be able to see the 'windows' folder on your device.
If you're using Vista, open any folder such as 'My Documents':
Organize - Folder and Search Options - View tab - uncheck the above.
Don't know about XP. It's that long since I used that operating system
It does display the "Windows" file, thank you.

Code:
[b]Download the attached zip file.
Extract it to (wherever you like) then follow the instructions below.[/b]
==============================================================================
Step by Step instructions on how to create your custom splash screen
for the Diamond and Rafael windows mobile.
==============================================================================
Step 1: Create your image
-
Choose, find or create the image you would like to have as your splash screen.
Use your image editor (photoshop is my choice) to adjust your image.
The size of the picture needed for the splash is 640x480 72dpi.
Save it as (24 Bit) (bmp) in folder (2-bmp to rsb to bmp).
goto Step 2.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2: Convert your image from *.bmp to *.rsb
-
Run rsbbmp.exe in folder (2-bmp to rsb to bmp).
Click on [Add Files] and choose your bmp.
Click on [Convert All]
Your image has now been cloned and converted to rsb format.
Move or copy your rsb file to folder (3-rsb to nb).
goto Step 3.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3: Convert your image from *.rsb to *.nb
-
Run Splash-RSB Converter.exe in folder (3-rsb to nb)
Choose VGA (640x480) then press [Convert].
Choose your rsb and save it in folder (4-patchsplashv0.1) click on [Done]
goto Step 4.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4: Patch your image file.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember, patchsplash.exe is a command line tool. If you run the program by double
clicking on it a cmd window will open showing you examples of the command line you
will need to type to patch your *.nb that is all.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, open the folder (4-patchsplashv0.1) in Windows file explorer. Copy the
address found at the top of the explorer window.
example: D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1
On Windows, Start Menu->Run... Click on Run then paste the address you copied
from win explorer then type the rest of the line needed for patching.
My example:
D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1\patchsplash R YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb
\patchsplash R YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb -> Rafael
\patchsplash D YOURFILENAME.nb YOURFILENAME_P.nb -> Diamond
Press enter and you're done!
A cmd.exe window will pop up telling you the process is complete.
REMEMBER
The first part of my example "D:\PDA\HTC\splash\4-patchsplashv0.1\"
is what I copied from win explorer.
"I" then move the new "_P.nb" file to the folder (5-nb to nbh) so not to
confuse it with the unpatched file.
goto Step 5.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 5: Create the *.nbh for flashing
-
Run NBHutil.exe in the (5-nb to nbh) folder.
Note: (the NBHUtil.xml file has to be in the same folder as NBHUtil.exe).
On first tab 'Build NBH', in the 'Target Device' list, choose "Diamond" or "Rafael"
located ad the bottom of the list.
On the right side, you have the "NBH Items". Click on the [...] button for "Splash".
An "Open" window pops up. Locate and select the .nb file that you just created.
Press [Build NBH!]
Type a file name and save!
This will create a .nbh file in the location you chosen. ((5-nb to nbh) folder by default)
goto Step 6.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 6: Flash your NEW Splash Screen!!!
-
I personally like to create a new folder for my newly created .nbh files.
In each folder I have my (*.nbh) and a copy of (RaphaelCustomRUU.exe).
In this way I can quickly flash which ever splash screen I want without any extra effort.
Create a folder. Place your new .nbh and a copy of RaphaelCustomRUU.exe in the folder.
Run RaphaelCustomRUU.exe, follow the instructions and you will have a new splash screen!
Enjoy! ;)

Root Explorer App.

Hello All,
In another section of this message board, I posted a question about using the root explorer app., I had mentioned the only reason I installed it on my gtab was I read that it had within the application a 'text editor', so if I needed to edit a text file I could..namely the build.prop file contained in the system file. I DID in fact click on the white button and enable the mount R/W function..but still don't see an option like the message states in another area:
Root explorer is pretty straight forward but can be confusing for some people who have never used it before. I have made this list based on the most commonly questions I have read about how to use Rood Explorer. I hope this answers your questions but if it doesn't, post the question and I'm sure I or someone will help you out.
When it won't let you manipulate a file ("this file system is read only") just touch the white button on the top that says "mount r/w"
When you long press files and folders for the sub menu, you can
Extract all
Delete
Rename
Copy
Move
Change Permissions
Properties
Add Bookmark
Send
View as text
Open in text editor
Zip a file
Create Tar
Change owner
You can also press menu for
New folder
Preferences
Bookmarks
Search
Muli-select
more gives you
Home
Refresh
New file
About
Exit
This program pretty much explains itself so just give it a little time and mess with it for a bit.
Can anyone help me ??
Thanks,
David

[Touch Pointer Mod]Changing the white dot to whatever icon you like!

Since I can't find any thread about this I decided to make one,
For those who enabled "show touches" in developers option and can't stand that ugly white dot, good thing about android is everything is modifiable. You can to replace that white dot to whatever icon you like, but you'll need a PC and a usb cable.
1. Connect your phone to your pc.
2. Copy /system/framework/framework-res.apk to your pc
3. Extract it to Desktop use the search bar and type pointer.
4. Once you see the pointer icon you click open file location.
5. Now, download some picture you want and resize it to smaller resolution like 50x50 then convert it to png format.
6. Save it to desktop and change the name into the file that you are going to replace.
7. Use 7zip (best free zipper ever) and navigate to where you found your white dot and paste your desired icon in it.
8. Copy the modified framework-res.apk to your phone.
9. Use any root explorer (ES File Explorer) and paste the modified framework-res.apk to /system/framework/
10. Replace the original file and change its permission to rw--r--r--.
now reboot and voila you're done. any thanks will be appreciated.

Download the latest APK in assets and follow directions provided, if the Magisk shortcut on app doesn't work remember the file directory to apply manually tried and working perfect on Android 10!
