I reseted my phone with the gurureset to stock, but my phone bricks everytime I run an OTA
I wanted to update it manually the firmware so I can run an updated ruu on it "from here : the 7.19.401.2"
I tried everything but every time it fails and it gives me :
target reported max download size of 1514139648 bytes
sending 'zip' (551346 KB)...
OKAY [ 21.793s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 83.634s
Please help ?
Dammit, Now I tried the : htc_fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
RUU.zip = PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.2_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_421790_signed.zip
Everything is OKAY! The progress finished on terminal, and the bar below HTC SILVER LOGO stuck on 95%
Then I rebooted the phone : fastboot reboot
Then it stuck on the bootloader/fastboot
I repeated the same op many times without success... I even tried to install twrp recovery but once I go into it brings me back to the fastboot..
HELP PLEASE
PLEASE HELP! I tried almost everything
I flashed many custom recoveries and stock/signed ones
I flashed The ZIP many times
Everything I try it gets me back to the fastboot with "Active cmdline overflow!"

active command line overflow is because you have flashed a rom not compatible with your phone. We see this problem often when ppl flash DLX rom on their M7. The partition of the DLX and M7 are not the same so when flashing the rom, it will corrupt your MISC partition. Flashing a ruu will not fix that problem since the MISC partition is not included in the RUU, its a unique partition for each device. This can be repaired by flashing a 'genric" MISC partition using a recovery made for this situation (the noBCB recovery).
Everything explained in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
I followed the instructions but unluckily, entering the recovery didn't work and brings me always to the fastboot screen, what to do ?

Tried CWM 6.0.2.8? and 6.0.4.9-noBCB ?
This guide is the only method available to fix your phone.

Well I really don't know. This is the only known fix for "active cmd line overflow". Do you know what file you have flashed exactly before this error?

The problem now is that I have to access recovery with my new hboot :/

you should have fixed that before updating
have you tried flashing the [various] recoveries to the kernel partition, it worked for a few (but it also didnt work for quite a few)
Code:
fastboot flash boot <name of recovery>.img
fastboot reboot
^^ upon reboot it will try to boot into recovery (since it's now in the kernel partition, but if it still can't enter custom recovery,

Hello,
I'm having trouble getting back to 100% stock. Here is what I've done already.
- Used Guru Reset Tool (to go back stock)
- Removed the 'Tampered' flag
- LOCKED the bootloader
- S-OFF
But my recovery is still 'ClockWorkMod' how the hell do I get rid of it without modding my handset again with superuser etc.

so i understand you want to get rid of CWM recovery, but don't know where you are now. can you please post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n), and the steps you've taken, and which one(s) failed;
1- if you were following my guide post back there (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082)
2- otherwise here or in your old thread, we'll try to get this solved ASAP

okay, quick & dirty method, no need to unlock again etc.: (HOWEVER DO NOT EVEN TRY TO GO S-ON!!! are we OK on that???)
if yes to staying s-off, (and you already are LOCKED and removed TAMPERED): download this: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ota_m7_...-24-161-1_release_340013akpd6pd8gw00infp-zip/
open the zip and extract "firmware.zip", place it in your adb folder, the reboot to bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip <- yes twice
fastboot reboot-bootloader
all done.
Again: Do NOT try to go S-On with this hboot.
Feel free to hit the thanks button if i've helped in any way.
You can also..
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Root
3. Install stock recovery
4. Set bootloader to lock using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792
5. Unroot SuperSU.

Reboot into recovery, and see what u have... Weird looking green icon, which changes to a red one after a minute or so? = stock recovery
Yes, u can go ahead with updates, but I don't think that any are available at the moment for .401.
3.62 is the latest.

OK so if you had viper one you must have had a custom recovery. I think this will work for you.
Download and flash TWRP 2.6.3.4 be sure to get the m7_ul version, this should get recovery working again.
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
Then use this guru reset file to reset your phone. Read the info and watch the video, then download the one for your device cid and partno
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
should be this one
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
You will likely have to use adb push to get the zip to your device, you can do this in twrp (lots of threads on how to do this)

just another thought. If you haven't started on the guru reset path, You could also try this .
Do what you did here using the ruu you found (assuming it is correct) , but issue the last command twice
so
fastboot oem rebootruu
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip ruu.rip
and see what happens, may be that simple

Then use this guru reset file to reset your phone. Read the info and watch the video, then download the one for your device cid and partno
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
should be this one
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
You will likely have to use adb push to get the zip to your device, you can do this in twrp (lots of threads on how to do this)
---------- Post added at 09:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 AM ----------
just another thought.

Try your original ruu but do the flash zip twice before reboot.
Can always do the guru later if needed

hi guys, a friend of my makes some own Roms ... and he helpt me yesterday and today,
iv got TWRP on my phone back, and i can use Adb,
the problem is, my phone doesnt find my SDcard ... crap ...
does somebody knows how you reset or reinstall your SDCard ?
thnks
Hello.
I'm having an issue with my phone and I really can't fix it. I've tried for a few days before posting here.
I have CWM installed, but I first had TWRP. It's an HTC by Telus, Canada.
So, the problems:
I can't factory reset since it will give me errors like "error mounting /data" and "error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure"
I can't even acccess the sdcard, it will say "E: Can't mount /sdcard" so I definitely cant install a new ROM
I had installed CM 11 but it will never go pass the logo (I'm assuming it can't since sdcard is unavailable)
I tried installing via ADB sideload and I get "* failed to write data 'protocol fault (no status)' *"
I'm desperate I have no idea what to do and where to start.
Thanks
P.S. : I don't remember how to output all the information like version-main and stuff, I'd do it with pleasure if someone points it out. And it's S-ON
Ok, issue fixed! A proper RUU worked fine to reset my phone, all good! Still don't know what was the initial problem but now that it's solved I'm happy
the command to post your output is fastboot getvar all, remove serial and imei before posting.
after you have done that, stay in fastboot mode and type fastboot erase cache
the flash TWRP 2.6.3.3 and see if you can get into it.
once in goto - wipe - advanced wipe and select everything in the list, including internal memory and format the whole phone.
you will then have to push a rom of your choice and flash it.

ok, you could try this, relock bootloader and run the official RUU download here:

can you check the file size of that RUU you downloaded please, in properties on your PC, it should be 1.5gb, ive just tried downloading it myself and it says completed but its only 148mb, when I tried to run it I go a similar error to what you are getting, just means there is a problem with the site at the moment and will be fixed shortly, you'll have to wait until then to grab the file, just keep trying until you get the full file size.
Last time this happened to this site a few weeks back, he said some hacker in Canada was sending a back door reset to his site every few minutes.
---------- Post added at 06:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 PM ----------
found another download site with the same file that you can try and grab it from instead: http://androidruu.com/getdownload.php?file=M7/RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_TELUS_WWE_4.19.661.8_R_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_351500_signed_2.exe

you wont need recovery to flash an RUU, just relock your bootloader, plug your phone into the computer and run the RUU, and no that file is no good, that's why you are getting the error, although it says its complete, you only have 50% of it, delete it and try the other site linked below, androidruu.com

Nearly every thread in this section has something to do with not being able to update from kitkat to lollipop on rooted phone.
did you read any of those and try anything before asking for help ?
you make no mention of what phone you have
you need a stock system and stock recovery to take OTA updates have you flash a stock rom before the stock recovery ?

There is many versions of the M7. You need to post the output of "fastboot getvar all" like we ask in every threads here so we can know exactly what phone you have and which sofmtware/firmware version installed, CID and MID number, S-ON or S-OFF.

start by making sure you have the correct stock recovery, look wrong to me, so have a look through the general section for a thread labelled "stock recovery collection" and then download the 6.09.401.11 (your firmware) recovery and flash it, then try and update again.

Failed to flash cos your bootloader is re-locked.
See @alray post above, you will have to start again, you dont need to lock or re-lock the bootloader for an OTA.
Fingerprint error as per your picture is a firmware issue, and as recovery is the only thing you can change whilst s-on, its a wrong recovery error.
the picture says it expects to find 366813.11 (.11 your firmware) but found something different, so failed.

I recently acquired an htc one m7. i decided it would be cool to root it and put a custom rom ( i have had experience in this i have done it on my s3 my galaxy tab 2.0 and a galaxy express) so i unlocked my bootloader, flashed a custom rom and rooted my device and i decided (stupidly) to erase everything from the device (System, data, internal storage, cache, and dalvik cache) but then i realized i didnt have the file on my phone and couldnt do anything with it so i started researching. i tried to gain s-off but with every solution i need to be booted up but i dont have an os so i cannot. i tried adb sideloading the file and it just errors. i tried pushing the file and flashing it and it errors. i tried fastboot flashing it but it wont verify it. i read on a forum on this site that said to flash roms with s-on you need to flash the boot image after. i tried this and it didnt work either. i also tried flashing the factory RUU with hasoon2000's all-in-one toolkit. this did not work. ive tried different recovery (but not different versions of these recoveries) everytime i try flashing a rom it errors and says it couldnt detect filesystem for /dev/block/plat then it cuts off and after it says mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msn_ then it cuts off then it continues unmount of /system failed: no such volume (even tho in my file directory there defiantly is one) then it says patching system image unconditionally..... failed to open /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. 1/b E: error executing epdater binary in zip ' /sdcard then cuts off. i have no idea how to fix this sorry for such a long post please help me.

You can't flash custom roms from fastboot, it must be flashed from custom recovery. The only things that can be flashed from fastboot are recovery, firmware and ruu + flashing a firwmare or a ruu will require to be booted in RUU mode, not in bootloader mode.

No, you only need an unlocked bootloader + custom recovery installed.

TWRP 2.6.0.1 is really outdated. Latest official version is 2.8.6.0 or (2.8.6.4 unofficial) and since 2014-05-01 you need at least twrp 2.7.0.8 to flash Cyanogenmod
i understand this now i was trying ever possibility and how do you get to RUU mode?

Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
but it won't help flashing roms, only for signed RUU and Signed firmware same or newer version that match your CID, MID and base version( x.xx.502.x) so 3.17.502.3 or above
i am not sure which RUU i did try the RUU.exe in fastboot mode like it said to do on the htc website and it did not work

If you want to flash CM12, update your recovery.
You might want to read this, this and this
TWRP can be downloaded from here and here
thank you very much @alray i flashed a more recent twrp and it worked so thank you for all of your help. it was the toolkit that flashed an old version, so yes the toolkit was not useful in this instance because the files used for the recovery were outdated. they should update them. lol thank you.

you're welcome, that's one example why we are not suggesting to use any toolkits.
