[Q] Disable keyboard vibration at night? - Moto X Q&A

Hey.
I've always had that desire to disable keyboard vibration but only at night. To be quiet around sleeping people.
Is there a way with xposed ?
Or maybe there is a way to create a shortcut or the quick button in the gravity box quick settings that will show up "keypress vibration duration" for google keyboard straight away ?
Or at least a shortcut on the desktop?

I know haptic feedback can be toggled in Tasker which could be triggered by about anything you want such as location, time, desktop shortcut, ambient light, whatever.

disable vibrate globally

Hi!
Is there any way to disable vibration for ALL apps and notifications?
What I'm trying to achieve is to use an automagic-flow to disable vibrate when the phone is placed on a flat surface. I can detect the phone being placed on a flat surface in automagic, but there is no action to disable vibrate. However it's possible to run apps or shortcuts in automagic, so what I need is an app that is able to disable vibrate for all apps and notifactions. Tried a lot of volume profile tools, but no app seems to be able to override the vibrate-settings from e.g. the htc-mail-app.
I could disable vibrate in all the apps and use light flow to vibrate on an incoming notification, but unfortunately light flow can not create profile shortcuts so there's no way to toggle light flow settings with automagic.
Any ideas how to achieve that?

Screen wakes after 5 seconds. Feature/issue Marshmallow

After my phone idles flat on a table for 5 seconds at least -I pick it up and the screen wakes. This is a decent feature that I've really liked. But the screen often comes back on even if the phone was never idling. Like if it was in my pocket while walking or in my hand while running. I end up inadvertently playing music or opening the emergency dialer or camera from my lock screen.
How can I disable or customize this feature? I've Google and didn't really find anything this specific. It's not related to notifications, at least I don't think it is..
To disable: Settings / Display / Ambient display / off.
To modify: I'm sure there are a variety of options when rooted. Gravitybox has a few:
Gravity box has option under the power settings: "proximity wakeup (use proximity sensor to help decide whether to wake device up)"
Gravity box also has an option under lockscreen tweaks / shortcuts / "safe launch" - requires double tap to launch shortcuts (from lockscreen) preventing them from being launched accidentally while device is in the pocket
Personally I have ambient enabled in Android settings, the GB safe launch option checked and the GB proximity wakeup option unchecked. Works fine - never had an inadvertant launch of anything from lockscreen. I vaguely recall that checking the prox wakeup option has caused some other problems for users so I don't use it.

Turn on / notifications vibration

Ehi guys!
i'm trying to switch off vibration on notifications (i don't mind about calls) based on condition, because i really can't stand my phone vibrating while laying in my table at work.
I've tried 2 solution, activate vibration only while in my pocket or while connected to certain wifi.. i have no problem with the triggers but i'm not able to actually toggle off and on the vibration..
i've tried both this script https://forum.xda-developers.com/u/t...asker-t3345309 or the tasker plugin "sound mode" but they both toggle do not disturb mode, not the vibration..
i just want to:
1. vibration off + volume on while on the table
2. vibration on + volume on while on my pocket
Any help?
Thanks!!
I don't think this is possible with Tasker. My guess is, you will have to disable vibration on a system level - driver for example.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Can you be a bit more specific on your solution? I'm not sure I get it
I think it is only possible if you can find the driver file for vibration and make change there.
Some applications, like Viber, vibrate furiously in all situations and users have little control over it. My solution is Xposed and GravityBox, both of which are mostly not tasker-able.
Actually I've noticed that if I block a notification in AutoNotification, then recreate it in Tasker, the vibration doesn't go off. If you don't want to block the app's notifications on a system level, it's a good workaround.
You can also just turn vibration system wide with the Vibrate action (should be in Audio).
thanks guys, i'll give it a try

Question Top settings bar

Guys - on the top menu which has DND, Flashlight, etc is it possible to add anything from settings? I'd like to place the brightness setting in there (in particular if I can turn on/off ambient lighting with one click) that'll be great. Thanks
It's already there. You have to swipe down again to get the brightness settings, which presents a slider to brighten or dim the didplay, along with options to choose what shortcuts to turn things on/off that you see on the ribbon initially. I think brightness is one of them..
Maybe under device settings?

Question Moto Edge 20 Fusion | How do we get Double Tap to Wake?

I know Moto has 'Peek Display' but that just keeps waking the phone at the slightest of movements and there's no option to disable motion sensing for it.
Is there a way to get the old school double tap to wake feature that'll show me the lock-screen or some way to make the phone light up when there are new notifications?
In the meanwhile, here's an app that will at least light up your phone when there are new notifications without peek display enabled: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_IN&gl=US
