Everything was going fine on my Nexus One (CM 7.1) when 2 days back I dropped it. It wasnt a deadly drop. Just a casual one on the screen though. But nothing seemed to have hurt it badly, internally or externally.
After two hours it started restarting. After restarting it would be at desktop for 5 seconds and reboot again. it happened again and again. I flashed CM 7.1 over it. Same thing kept happening. Then i flashed CM 7.0.3. It worked. But i whenever i make a call the screen goes blank immediately and doesnt show up anything even after call is ended (by other person as i cannot). Even after call, i press all the available buttons but no life to it even though it is on.
I tried OxygeN1 rom. Its working good but the problem after every call continues.
Has anyone faced such a problem and any solution?
I noticed that i continue to face 5 second rebooting problem with CM 7.1 and Bugless Beast (by Peter Alfonso) Roms. Can anyone guess the reason?
My camera has also stopped working since then. Shows as
'Camera Error - cannot connect to camera'
Pls help with this also. Tried all the possibilities such as memory card format and other solutions on
Cannot go to HTC service center due to unlocked bootloader.
Pls help guys..need it badly.
I am facing the same problem.
I guess it has to do with proximity sensor not working.
I flashed MIUI ROM and in the settings there is an option to disable proximity sensor during call.
After this i am not seeing blank screen, but the camera still doesnt work!!
I had a similar problem after a drop.
Camera & flash had stopped working.
Nothing helped until I took it to the HTC Service Center.
They said some flex cable had to be replaced. Camera / flash working great after this.
My phone was an out of warranty Nexus One with an unlocked bootloader. They repaired it without a murmur!
Hey guys got an Xperia x8, had it about 11 months, the last 5 or 6 months the phone has been restarting, sometimes after sending texts, sometimes when it is just on standby...the restarting has gradually got worse and worse and fortunately the phone has a 12month warranty(Has about 3 weeks left), I have tried putting different firmwares on but they have not fixed the problem, therefor it has to be a hardware problem, what do I need to do to make it look like my phone has not had any new firmware on and what have you so I am eligible for a replacement?
Thanks!
I had a similar problem with constant reboots every time I had a bad signal and turned on mobile data.
I used SEUS repair function to reflash stock ROM and unroot and then took it to my provider. they sent it in. I doubt they noticed that I even ever rooted my phone.
Well, the only thing they did was reflashing stock ROM (again) and changing the battery. After that everything worked fine again.
Now since the ROM cant be the problem (I did reflash stock ROM before but the reboots persisted) it must have been the battery that caused the problem.
Now my guess is that everytime my phone drained excessive amounts of power (like when increasing the signal strength in areas with bad signal) it caused the battery to malfunction causing a sudden reboot of the phone.
So if this sounds somewhat similar to the situations when you get sudden reboots you might just want to try a different battery...
[edit]
To restore your phone follow the instructions "3. SEUS/PCC flashing"

After you did a SEUS repair noone will be able to tell that you unrooted your phone so you'll have full warrenty...
I've been on holiday and while there my phone seems to have broke. It constantly restarts it's self - it gets to the HTC One splash screen and then will reboot again.
Most of the time I cannot get it into recovery as it will crash and re-start before it gets there, but I did manage a moment ago to get it to work for around two minutes and in that time I wiped the device - still having the issue though.
It's rooted with a custom rom, but I havent changed either of those elements in a good few months so dont think it's related.
I suspect this is a hardware issue and I'm boned, but wondered if anyone had a suggestion?
Hi,
I've owned my VERIZON Samsung Galaxy Note 5 since early December and have not rooted the device. Today while taking notes in lecture, the device began displaying notices for crashed background apps (Gmail has crashed, Nova launcher has crashed, etc.) The problem persisted for another hour, even after booting into safe mode. I wiped the cache and factory reset the device, however during setup, Samsung keyboard would crash along with other apps running in the background during setup (One time I got "Samsung Galaxy has stopped working"). The phone started increasingly randomly rebooting since the phone first began to malfunction.
Since the factory reset didn't seem to actually reflash the firmware, I downloaded OJ3 stock ROM and flashed successfully using Odin, however the phone began acting even more erratically and failed to boot 4 out of every 5 boot loops. I tried flashing OGJ, which failed to boot worse than OJ3. I just flashed OJ2, which seems to be more stable than the other flashes I tried, however I'm still getting sluggish performance, random reboots and crashes of background apps immediately after booting.
At this point I believe it is defective hardware and I should call in the warranty for a new phone.
Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any speculation on the source of the issue? What should I know going into attempting to exchange for a new phone?
Note 5 crash
Yep, have the same problem, but I have not attempted to Flash the Phone yet...
Did multiple factory resets, clear caches... but to no avail. There is no structure or pattern in crash rate. Although it is getting more often day by day...
Found no working sollution, but it feels like there is a bad memory segment or something. Everytime it randomly uses that segment... crash!
Really don't know. Will try to get warrenty fix.
Let me know if you found a sollution on your side?
Cheers,
Wim

OP here. Made a warranty claim, they seem to have replaced the motherboard as the solution. Complete repair experience from warranty claim to package back at my doorstep was less than two weeks, which is impressive for what I've heard about Samsung's support. Good luck!
Hi guys. This issue just started happening a couple of days ago, it started when I was playing games (phone wasn't hot) then it turned off by itself. My battery was still at 80% so I turned it back on, after it started saying "starting apps" it turned off again and the phone is now constantly rebooting. It doesn't seem to be bricked at all as it sometimes boots to the menu but when i start tapping on an app it shuts off and does the constantly rebooting issue again. It could be a hardware issue which means I'm gonna need to send my phone to the service center for a repair but one thing that makes me think there could be a way of fixing this without paying a technician is, when i boot to download mode, it doesn't do its constant reboot issue. I was even able to flash a firmware via Odin but when the phone started to boot after firmware installation, It did the spontaneously rebooting in the middle of the boot process again. If any of you guys have any idea on how to fix this or if there's even a way to, Please help me. Thanks! Cheers!

Try flashing the experimental firmware from the rooting guide, and if that doesn't work then it is most likely a hardware issue, and I have a strong suspicion that it is.
If you have an external SD card, remove it and see if problems persist. Honestly that sounds like a firmware scrambled.
