step by step working way to flash roms on rooted lollipop - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

if your already on rooted lollipop be patient..............if you have had problems downgrade to 4.4.2.....THIS IS ONLY IF YOUR ON ROOTED LOLLIPOP NOT IF YOU TOOK OTA TO 5.0
STEP 1.....ON 4.4.2 instal towel root , busybox , safestrap, root your phone with towel root........install busybox......install safestrap................
step2.... reboot to ss.......on stock slot wipe everything but storage......use muniz way to restore backup rooted lollipop.....after restore boot into download mode install oc4 kernal through odin in ap slot........reboot.......
step 3........your now on 5.0.........install nce apk.....thats it nothing else.........flash then reboot...........this will take you to safstrap.......in stock slot wipe everything but storage......install whatever rom your wanting to use............then install the updated flashible oc4 kernal also in ss.............
step 4......reboot then wait, wait,,,,wait.........wait.... it takes a long time so be patient...........your done....
tip: i did not use flashfire for anything but after your running custom rom you can use it for backups and restore on your custom rom

If we're already on rooted lollipop using the method below, does that mean we start at step #3? And if so, what ROMs are compatible to use?

Ok finally got it working and booted to Twisted v4.0 But I have No root when I use Root checker. And when I try to use Viper app, it says it cannot acquire root permission
Edit, after about 5 hours, I have a Infinite Boot Loop. Just boots restarts boots restarts, boots etc...... Are you having this problem?

I read somewhere that ff isn't able to do backups and restores. Is this true? What is the proper way to backup a rom you're using? Thank you for any help.

Cant boot into Safestrap 3.75

I can't seem to find out how to fix this problem. and was wondering if someone was able to help me. I updated to stock lollipop and changed roms to DomPop 2.2.3 and wanted to flash a different lollipop rom, but ss wont boot anymore once I use the NC2 flasher app. It just boots to a black screen, and wont do anything else. I have try using Odin and flashing the NC2 kernel that way, but it doesn't help. Once I reboot the phone in download mode I can flash back to OC1 no problem and use the current installed rom, but can't get ss to work. I have uninstalled busybox and ss a couple times, and it gives me the same thing. Would Flashfire be an easier alternative? Otherwise, would I use odin to flash a different rom/files, and get ss working that way?
I would just Odin back to NC2 and use @walterwhite's lollipop rooted Rom just make sure you install Supersu, busybox, an SafeStrap before upgrading to his lollipop an you should be goldin'..

Galaxy Note 3 AT&T. Can't boot to ROM-Safestrap boots straight to stock recovery mode

Galaxy Note 3 AT&T. Can't boot to ROM-Safestrap boots straight to stock recovery mode
Hello guys, for some reason I'm not able to boot to my rooted stock 5.0 ROM (Galaxy NOTE 3, AT&T, Lollipop 5.0). Everything was working fine, then I booted to safestrap to backup my stock ROM (which went succesfully) as I wanted to tweak some things in my phone afterwards. I dont really know what happened but since then I cant boot normally to the ROM, but my phone goes straight to the stock recovery mode. I've tried everything to my knowledge already, from the stock recovery the boot option just sends me back again to the same recovery mode. If I press the "continue" button on safestrap initial screen it also sends me to the stock recovery mode, same If I just wait 10 seconds, same if I try rebooting from within the safestrap options. I can't get pass the recovery mode to the normal ROM booting. Not sure what's going on here as I just performed a backup, didnt install nor restore any ROM before having this problem...The backup seems to be there in my external card so I guess I could restore it to the stock slot hoping this could send me to boot normally to the ROM.....Is there anything I'm missing here???...Does any body know what may be happening??....any advise is greatly appreciated!!...Many thanks!!
@momo909
Safestrap does not work with the lollipop oc1 kernel... in order to use safestrap with lollipop, you have to flash the nc2 kit kat kernel first, then boot into safestrap. There is a tool called the nc2 flasher you can use use - you should read the following thread for tips and tricks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2989141
Kernel Flasher
What you would have needed to do after backing up your rom... before you left safestrap you would have needed to flash the recovery flashable oc1 kernel, then reboot. There is a recovery flash able oc1 kernel around here on the forums in several places... here is a link I found
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934551552
But since it seems like you didn't reflash the oc1 kernel before leaving safestrap you will need to use odin to reflash the oc1 kernel...
If you go to this thread, you can download the odin flashable oc1 kernel and then use odin to flash the kernel to your device. Then you should be able to reboot your phone normally.

OC1 Kernel odin flashable
*** disclaimer... I'm not a developer, but I flashed numerous roms on this n900a and this is the struggle we currently face with our locked bootloader. Things can go wrong, but if I we're having the issue you described, this is how I would try to get my device back up and running.

Unable to flash from 4.4.2 to stock or rooted Lollipop

I tried what I was advised here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...pgrading-stubborn-software-t3228423?nocache=1
I can successfully flash it but Kit Kat still boots up every time. I don't know what to do. Maybe twrp? How do I do that.
May also be relevant that I cannot seem to boot into recovery to do the fixes after I flash. 4.4.2 stil comes up.
Cheers!
You could just use Odin to go back to stock, always worked for me. The only reason I could think that you could have problems is that you have a custom rom already that changes your build and model.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
If you need to install stock rom you need to make sure build number is N900AUCUCNC2 and then use odin to install .
If you need to install root rom install Towelroot from play store and make sure wifi or data network is on during root then install SuperSU
BusyBox (open BusyBox and install from inside ), "Safestrap-HLTEATT-NC2-3.75-B03" recovery from fourm put your prerooted rom in sd card open Safestrap and boot to recovery you will be able to install rooted rom from there .

Stock Note 3 randomly bootloops, help

My note 3 was rooted on oc1 for a few months, then about a month ago it started randomly rebooting during the day. Sometimes it would boot normally, other times it would bootloop until i cleared the cache multiple times. I then went into safestrap to clear the cache and dalvik, and that ended the random restarts for about a week until it started happening again. To make sure it wasnt the sd card, i swapped sd cards and even removed it entirely, still was getting random bootloops. I got rid of the root and reverted to 100% stock oc1 using the 4 odin tars, then i upgraded to oc2 stock. Still, i am getting bootloops even on a stock rom. What are my options?
Were you getting bootloops on OC1?

Yes, my oc1 was rooted and i was getting bootloops. Now that i reverted to stock oc1, and upgraded to oc2 using OTA, i am still getting random restarts and bootloops.
Could you post an "about device" screen shot that includes version, baseband, kernal, build, and security

Awesome. Could you also link me to the files your putting inside odin? Have you checked the files md5 to make sure they're correct?
To get to 5.0 OC1 originally, did you downgrade to 4.2 NC2 then root with towelroot, install supersu, busybox, safestrap, then flash rooted OC1?

i used the individual wipe tars from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/100-stock-lollipop-5-0-n900aucueoc1-t3069609
When i rooted i did downgrade to nc2, did towelroot, supersu, busybox, and safestrap then flashed to oc1 rooted.
Give this a try:
* Make sure to check the MD5s to ensure they downloaded intact. I use http://www.winmd5.com/
1. Downgrade to 4.4.2, using the Full Odin Tar., then root with towelroot, install busybox, safestrap, supersu.
2. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001615211 (N900AUCUCNC2_Full_Odin_Tar)
* Make sure you place this in the odin PDA or AP slot. (depending on which version you have)
3. Now, once your on 4.4.2 rooted, flash this https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934549604 (SM-N900A_OC1_Lollipop_Rooted_Rom.zip) by booting into Safestrap, factory resetting, and then finally flashing.
4. The AT&T logo will sit there for what feels like forever. This is normal.
5. Let me know if this works.

S5 on OC4 firmware stuck at bootloop at ATT logo (Tried many other fixes listed here)

My S5 is stuck on bootloop at the ATT logo. I tried to flash stock OC4 partitions which passed. I then tried to clear cache and reset to factory which didn't return any errors. I tried many fixes listed here on the site to no avail. The only other thing I can think of is to try and flash the 5.0 OC4 firmware which I cannot find in a tar.md5 file anywhere wih a working link. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I'm in a similar situation. I did something to the build prop file trying to get viper4android to work. Now I'm stuck at the first screen showing the custom unlock icon etc.....
I have two flashfire backups and twrp installed. How the hell do I boot my flashfire backup? My phone is on 5.0 rooted of course. or was lol
I miss safestrap....
I was able to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...w-to-unbrick-flash-to-stocknce-g900a-t3077652 to get my phone back up. I was on lollipop 5.0 oc2 deodexed rooted rom Muniz_ri made. You can't use this because you're using oc4, but others may.
I was able to use towelroot (after the above flash I was on kk 4.4.2) to root. redown busybox, sd card fix, root checker, and supersu and update binaries. Reinstalled flashfire and restored my lasted backup before I biffed the phone. Just finishing up now, pretty confident it will work again.
