dude, tmobile is gsm and verizon is cdma. Nope its not compatible, if it was then you would not get LTE.

saw a verizon one on cl for $350. much better deal than the tmobile one.

I'm using a verizon g3 (vs985) on tmobile now. everything works including LTE.

I'm also curious is VERIZON USA Galaxy S6 Edge (GSM UNLOCKED) ?
Meaning does it works with TMOBILE or AT&T SIM card inside the VERIZON Galaxy S6 Edge?
Any one tested and confirmed this please. (I'm pretty sure it's but just need someone to confirm this)
Thanks!

This hasn't been the case for a while on Verizon phones. As long as the model supports the same bands that T-Mobile does on the LTE, it'll work. Was working on the S5 I had when I tested it, but just got my S6e, and haven't had a chance to test (won't till I can get a nano sim to test it with).

which APN did you use to get LTE on AT&T? Can you share? Many Thanks! :good:

All Verizon LTE phones are globally unlocked. It can be used on other carriers.

Sorry I forgot to mention I'm using AT&T compatible sim card on Straight Talk. I guess this APN is not the one you need.

Yeah. i need the AT&T APN but since StraightTalk is similar network bands to AT&T, i think it will get LTE but i need to confirm.
sure! if you can share the straight talk APN, it will kinda help. :good:

Yeah hope someone can confirm it.
This is the Straight Talk APN
APN - tfdata
MMSC - http "colon" //mms-tf "dot" net
MMS proxy - 66.209.11.33
APN type - default,mms,supl,hipri
I had to write MMSC like that because I couldn't post outside link
Good luck

THANKS FOR THE INFO!!
when you get incoming call, does the caller ID have + infront but without the 1? For example, it will show +8005551212, when it is suppose to show +18005551212?

I wonder how are you getting LTE on Verizon phone with ATT. Verizon phone doesn't have band 17 LTE which ATT is mostly using.

yeah. i am wondering how too! i checked the regular Verizon S6 section and some guy said he got it by using PTA APN.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/help/galaxy-s6-verizon-att-t3082471
I wonder is it because the VZW version has LTE band 2, 4, and 5.

It might also be region based for the LTE band. I hope where i am i can get LTE with band 2, 4, and 5 (w/o 17).
if you have any experience with VZW S6 on AT&T service, pls let me know.

I am using Tmobile prepaid on Verizon S6 edge.. A couple of information for those who don't know.
1. ALL Verizon LTE phones are unlocked (per their agreement with FCC).. Since most modern LTE phones are quad band or pentaband.. most of them work with other carriers right out of the box. For example, my Verizon S6 works with Tmobile voice and LTE right out of the box.
2. You would ask why bother with Verizon and why not just use Tmobile.. The reason for me is because I travel internationally and since Verizon phone is GSM unlocked... I don't have to worry about getting a Tmobile phone and then unlocking it.
3. The only down side is that VoLTE does not work.. or at least i haven't figured out a way to make it work since it is software enabled and Verizon LTE phones will not have the software required to activate VoLTE on non-Verizon Sims. That means, you cannot talk and be online at the same time.
If anyone knows how to configure Voice over LTE on a Verizon phone with non-Verizon SIM... Please do share.

Perhaps give them IMEI from a T-Mobile S6?
I did something similar on AT&T when i enabled HD Voice on VZW iPhone and it worked.

Nexus One and At&t 4g

is it possible to purchase a Nexus 1 that will work on both tmobile and att 3g?
Also will the at&t nexus 1 work on at&t 4g network when it is released?
It can work on either carrier's EDGE network, but the 3G bands are different. So you can buy the At&t 3G one and it'll work 100% on At&t but only have EDGE on T-Mobile. Or you can buy the T-Mobile 3G version and have the opposite.
For 4G, no, the N1 will not work with At&t's 4G network. It doesn't support HSPA+. You can enable HSUPA for faster uploads, so it'll support full 3G.

I have a non-branded Nexus One but I use it through T-Mobile.. (on that note, I didn't know there was a AT&T branded and T-Mobile branded one....I thought they were all non-branded since you had to buy them through the Google site)

I don't think that any of the Nexus One's are actually branded, (they both look the same). I have an AT&T one and it does not say AT&T on it anywhere, it just has the right frequencies for AT&T 3G.
AT&T
I read somewhere if it has PB99110 under the battery it supports AT&T 3g. On a side note I haven't seen any AT&T "4G" speed tests that makes me want to go run out and purchase a 4G device.

Typical results from my Nexus1
I bought mine without any sort of contract agreement or upgrade from either company ( non subsidized ...paid full price). I would then assume it supports either companies 3G bands, considering those factors..

Unfortunately not. There are 2 different nexus one versions out there, t-mobile and ATT 3g versions. You have to get the right one for each. Both have world 2100 though.
The ATT version stopped being sold long ago, the t-mobile only one still being sold.

I'm not sure what your suggesting because, again, I bought my phone on release day off the Google site....without having a contract to either company.
I got the phone and subscribed to T-Mobile after a few days of having it, I had no prior company before (well I had MetroPCS).
So your basically suggesting that I got completely lucky that I received a T-Mobile version? I'm not exactly sure that's the case. Unless strictly T-Mobile was the only company supporting it on release, which I don't recall to be totally honest.
yes, the t-mobile version was the only one available at launch
the at&t version did not become available until around april or may, just like how the nexus s is only now becoming available for at&t* and sprint while it has been available for t-mobile for quite some time
so you didn't just get a t-mobile version by chance but you are lucky that you weren't planning on using it on at&t because you wouldn't have been able to get 3g
*I know that at&t is not actually selling the nexus s but there is a version with at&t bands in canada

Yes, you were lucky you were on T-Mobile. Because there was only the T-Mobile version at that time.
And you seem to think that a phone working on one type of 3G and not another has something to do with signing contracts. That is not the case. The more bands a phone supports, the harder it is to get good antenna. Basically a phone has to be designed for a small subset of all possible frequencies. That's why there were two versions of the Nexus One. One for the AT&T frequencies, and one for the T-Mobile frequencies.

No, I understand the difference between frequencies and such. I wasn't saying just because there was no contract it works on both...I was just saying that because I thought (which was corrected and it was only released on T-Mobile at first) it was sold for both initially and I never selected one it must have ran both frequencies. Again, that was my incorrect assumption. I didn't realize it was initially released by T-Mobile exclusively.

[Sprint] Removable sim confirmed!

So the Sprint GS4 has a removable sim like the HTC One.
Frequencies and Data Type LTE: Band 25 (1900MHz); CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev A, Tri-band: 800/850/1900 MHz; HSPA+/UMTS Dual-band: 1900/2100 MHz; GSM Quad-band: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

Sure. With the removable sim you can pop in any international sim you want and use their cheap prepaid rates while travelling.
Another benefit may be to unlock the sim and use at&t prepaid when your sprint service sucks.
Those not in the US may not realize CDMA carriers have not had many GSM radios/sims in the past.

This is the GS4 general section correct? Until they break up the forum to carrier this is the right place as far as I know.
i already have a sprint international sim but don't use it often.. nice knowing i can pop it into the S4 and use it overseas if i have to instead of the ancient motorola v600 i have.
this is not to be confused with a sim, it is a uicc just like verizon/metropcs/uscc/cricket use
Although I'm not planning on going out of country it is good to know our phones will be "world" phones.

I would assume you could get a cheap disposable pre-paid in your area of travel, insert and profit? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but that's the way I would see it.
let me reiterate, this is not a sim. it is a uicc. someone already tried to stick a gsm sim in and set to global and got an invalid sim. this does not mean it isnt a global device, just could be that it is locked permanently, locked to sprint and have to get an unlock code from sprint to unlock it, or would never work in the first place.
regardless it isnt looking great ATM, once more people have teh device and can actually mess with the hidden settings then more info can be found out. but as of now i would not buy this phone based on the premise of using it on gsm, sprint has a pretty piss poor track record with unlocking gsm stuff (ask any photon 4g/photon q owner)

It's probably SIM locked like the HTC One is. Therefore, you should be able to call Sprint and have them provide you the unlock code, which they normally will if you meet certain criteria. There are several folks on the HTC One forum who have reported they have done so succefully. All this said though, I still expect for the phone not to be able to be GSM operable with US carriers like all Sprint GSM phones have been in the past.
Also, I am pretty sure the original Photon 4G (WiMax) already came SIM unlocked out of the box.

Pin and Puk codes have nothing to do with SIM locking though. Only the carrier and manufacturer have that.

that is what i am referring to, and no i dont expect them to change either. realistically, a sprint customer doesnt need to use those carriers. but it would be nice to be able to use a photon q on tmobile without having to shred it to bits and solder in a new sim..

Even if you could shred it to bits it would do you no good because Sprint blocks reception of US GSM signals at the radio level. Personally, now that Sprint is back to using removable SIMs, I don't really have that big of an issue with what Sprint is doing with respect to blocking US GSM, as long as they enable international usage with any SIM and, if they SIM lock the device, don't give you too much of a hard time to obtain the unlock code from them so that you can use the device with other carriers if you are outside the US (rather than forcing you to pay their exorbitant international roaming rates).
It should be noted though that in the Sprint S4's case there is actually another related issue where Sprint did something really dumb and annoying which is to disable the UMTS/WCDMA 850 MHz band completely (for use both inside and outside the US) and has done so for apparently no good reason at all. That could cause major issues to folks who wish to use the device in certain places like S. America. However, this is a topic that merits its own separate thread though, which I plan on starting sometime in the next couple weeks after I get more info. on this problem.

AT&T reports my Nexus 5 as "LG 821"

I thought this was kind of interesting...
I bought my Nexus 5 from Tmobile (north america), found out that I have very little (read: zero) coverage between my home and work, so I had to cancel. I went ahead and paid off the N5 and switched to AT&T.
Oddly enough, the myAT&T screen shows me as having a LG 821, which, I believe, is the international version!
I found that concerning as I thought Tmobile might have worked better for me if I had the correct phone... but my bootloader shows D820.
Anyone else have the same quark on their myAT&T page?

My wife and I both have Nexus 5's on at&t. I bought her's from google and mine from tmobile. Ours both show 821 too, but they are 820's. If they were 821's, you would have no LTE. Im in atlanta with lte everywhere.
LG 821 too, bought it from the Google store. I can use the wap.cingular apn only. No LTE for me.
LG821 here as well. I have LTE using attphone APN. I had a Galaxy S4 (LTE) before it, just kept that plan so it all works. Have to have had a LTE capable phone before you get the N5 for it to work properly with your plan to access LTE>

Do any of you get throttled on AT&T with the Nexus 5? I have the Galaxy Nexus, but a cracked screen and now water damage is making me purchase a new phone, and I have yet to be throttled while regularly using over 5G/month.
Thanks!
You only get throttled (or more accurately, your usage is only metered in the throttling system) when using PHONE or PTA apn. Using a galaxy nexus without lte, you're most likely on wap.cingular (which you can do on a phone with no lte). Once their system detects you're imei and determines you have an lte capable device, you're blocked from using wap.cingular, and this your usage will be monitored (as you'll need to use phone or pta). I can trick the system by putting my sim in my old non lte GS2 (i9100), doing "restore apns" then sim swapping back to my nexus 5. THEN I can use wap.cingular, but unfortunately after a day or two they do an imei sweep and I get locked out again On the bright side tmo just announced they'll be eliminating edge and upgrading everything to lte by 2015 so I'm looking forward to dumping ATT very soon.

Do any of you get throttled on AT&T with the Nexus 5? I have the Galaxy Nexus, but a cracked screen and now water damage is making me purchase a new phone, and I have yet to be throttled while regularly using over 5G/month.
Thanks!

No throttle. On 6gb family share plan now. I can get over 50mbit/s in SpeedTest with full LTE signal. 95% of the time I'm on WiFi so to boot LTE speeds don't really matter. My data usage last month was a whole 500mb.
Not sure if the International has a different structure for the ESN/IMEI but its quite possible the 821 is what they have in their system as the Nexus 5. They do have traveling customers on the device but more likely prepaid customers. Interesting one indeed.

He's asking about the UNLIMITED plan being throttled I'm sure, and yes it will after 5gb, unless you're on the wap.cingular apn as I described above.
I should mention that the Nexus 4 will NOT be blocked from wap.cingular as it does not have LTE, so if true unlimited data is that important maybe the Nexus 4 might be a better choice.

ATT sent me a message saying I would be throttled at 3GB even though I have "unlimited data", and being throttled sucks, its awful.

Should be 5gb on an LTE device. I'd call in with your imei to get put on an LTE unlimited plan if you're not already (hspa plans throttle after 3gb.). Note that you don't need to be on LTE or even have an LTE device, you just need any att compatible imei to give them so you're on the right plan.

I got mine from Google, it's the unlocked version, and AT&T is also saying it's an LG 821.
How Do I Check The Model Number?
Hi,
Bought my phone from Google Play. How do I check the model number other then the boot loader?
I checked in 'About Phone', can't find it.
Edit. XDA really has to stop ads from playing with audio with while on the site, drives me nuts.
I tried to use the phone on PTA or Phone APN but it only accepts wap.cingular, because I switched from a 3G phone. The CS rep said my plan is not compatible with LTE, and nothing can be done. I am stuck with HSPA. Oh well, the plus side, I am not throttled.
WoodburyMan said:
LG821 here as well. I have LTE using attphone APN. I had a Galaxy S4 (LTE) before it, just kept that plan so it all works. Have to have had a LTE capable phone before you get the N5 for it to work properly with your plan to access LTE>

This is not true. My wife has a T-Mobile N5 and I have a play store N5. Just started ATT service yesterday and we both have LTE. Also both devices show up as LG 821.

This is true in some cases. It depends on the person that sets your phone up. Search. When they provision the phone, some AT&T workers, since the Nexus 5 is officially not in their provisioning software, have to select a generic template. If they are smart and do the right thing, you get set up with a LTE capable provisioning for your phone that works perfect. Some however don't know what they are doing and set the phone up with a plan that cannot access 3G for whatever reason. It completely depends on the person provisioning your phone. With phones that are in AT&T's system that might be unlocked but are in their system, such as Galaxy S4 Google Edition or something, it works no problem since the S4 is in their system. However with "oddball" phones like ours that AT&T doesn't officially support you run into issues as some workers may not know how to handle them.

Verizon LG G2 on Cricket Wireless?

Does anybody have their Verizon LG G2 working on Cricket Wireless? I read that might be able to flash it to their network. Haven't contacted them yet or gone to their store. Their website says my IMEI is compatible.
....update 8/2/14 See post further down but service works good.

As some of you might know, I've lost my employee account with Verizon due to them shutting down a few call centers in which I worked as a tech. I had 50% discount working for them. Not gonna pay no $300-400 a month for a cell phone service. No way. Thats like a house or car payment in some states! LOL.

I had T-Mobile before. Cricket has some really good prices and used At&t's network.

Finally my quest with Verizon is over. I've officially ported over all my lines to Cricket Wireless who was purchased by AT&T sometime this past June and now uses AT&T towers.
My service believe it or not at my house it stronger than I had with Verizon. I get 5 full bars with Cricket as with Verizon I'd get 2 to 3 bars.
My 4G lte with Cricket Wireless is throttled to only 8mbps up and down. When I run a speed test it hits over 15mbps then quickly their throttling down kicks in and puts me at 8mbps. Verizon I only got around 13-18mbps.
I'm using Cloudy's Flex rom and everything works, data, text, mms with Cricket. Once you activate your service, Cricket send you an update text to your G2, where it automatically puts in your APN and MMS settings. Pin unlock code is 1111.
I now save over $100 a month on service. I'm on the 2.5gb data, unlimited text, voice plan for $50, each second line is $40 for same plan.
I'm in the Orange County, CA area, so here its good service miraculous. lol

Just to make sure, you flashed Cloudy Flex for VS980 and using Global as your network mode, correct? And on 24a radio's?

Im on Optimus G3 rom now using 24a radios. Network mode is this.
I'm on Optimus Pro but no settings for gsm. I'll try another ROM before making the switch. My reason for changing carriers is so my girlfriend can use this phone, my new phone will be the One Plus One. Should be getting it today. Thanks for your help.

Really?!?! That is odd... My personal phone is a Nexus 4 on Cricket, and my work phone is a G2 on Verizon... I have put my Cricket SIM in my G2 a few times and it works, flawlessly, although I have never gotten LTE, always HSPA+. I was always under the impression that the VS980 did not support the proper frequencies for AT&T's LTE network.
Could it be you live in area where AT&T has multiple bands of LTE and there is some overlap into the Verizon frequencies? Verizon typically uses 700Mhz Block C LTE in most areas of the country, and AT&T does have some 700 Mhz Block B&C in some (very limited) areas.
It may be the ROM. When I get my sims card for the new phone I'll know more.

Make sure you port your number right away as they can't port your number after you've activated a sim. They'll try to charge you again for a new line to port in your number as I wanted to test the service first. This happened to me. Ports can only be done at activation.

Modems N910T on AT&T

Does the N910T have the same modem as the N910A?
Does anyone have the flashable zips of both modems? I want to see if using the T-Mobile modem effects the LTE speed on AT&T network.
Thanks!

I'd be curious about this as well. I have an unlocked TMo on AT&T - LTE worked great but now I can only get HSPA+ and AT&T claims my phone registers as a Blackberry. Very frustrating.
Mine just stayed acting funny last night. It will only get 4G which is really actually 3g. I have the AT&T version as well. It will only get 4G also now. They might have did something to my Sim, who knows.
OK o just called att and they also said I had a blackberry as my phone. The difference is I have both versions (AT&T and T-Mobile) so when I called I was using the att version. They still couldn't get lte on the att version. Wtf

Because it says 4g and not LTE. I'm on dynamic ROM so icons are correct. Also was only getting 2mbs download. It also said HSPA in settings under status. Also AT&T said it was a blackberry on my account which is setup different then regular LTE (there words). But don't matter I got it fixed with AY&T for now.
On top of all this I didn't just jump to conclusions. After all the problems I odined back, tried kernel, tried modem. Then add a last resort I put my son back into my AT&T note 4(yes I have both) and had ZERO data because of my account. That's what spaked the phone call to AT&T.

Just wanted to make sure I was verifying the signal in the same way. I am getting LTE though. Just seemed slow. I checked the speed with the same Sim card on my note 2 and the speed was so not great. I believe AT&T is working on the network in my city though and that's why speed are show where I am.

Yeah there having issuers here in Naples to and created a trouble ticket. I've never had really good speeds anyways even on the real AT&T version. Samsung radios dont have the strength of a iPhone which sucks really because everything else beats the iPhone except download speeds and reception. (Thoroughly tested this with a buddy that is addicted to iPhone the way I'm addicted to Samsung phones for the last few years)
I lost LTE today on both my note 4 and g3.
Can't get it back no matter what I try.
Sounds like APN issue or Sim card issue. I have a T-Mobile Note 4 on ATT and I've had LTE the whole time...no problems. I did get a new Sim because I was using a nano Sim with adapter. 2g 3g 4g works fine as well. I'm in SW Missouri and my phone shows as a note 4.

In my experience with this if ATT has the actual IEMI of the off network device you will only get HSPA/HSPA+ at best. It does not matter what your APN settings are and this can only be fixed by providing an IEMI of a device that was sold with AT&T access from the start.
I made a mistake and provided the IEMI (at the time an unlocked MetroPCS S5) and could not get LTE. I told them that I was switching devices and provided the IEMI of my HTC One M8. After rebooting, LTE came back with good speeds again.
This is one reason why as a tinkerer I prefer AT&T over VZW. Verizon will refuse to activate a non VZW device. AT&T's official word is they will allow it but cannot guarantee speed or reliability. In my experience, however using a TMO or other GSM device with them has been fine.
EDIT:
Just logged in to MyATT and mine is showing up as "Samsung SM-N910T".
All I did was insert a sim card from one of my other devices. I'm using a nano sim to micro adapter as well. It's a PIA however I have an M8 and iphone6 which are both nano devices. I'm surprised that Samsung is still using micro sim cards!
I logged in this morning and mine is now showing as 910T as well. I still have LTE.
Not to hijack the thread, but those of you using TMO's Note 4 on AT&T, is your LTE reception good?
And flashing a different carrier's modem on a device could mess up the IMEI number.

Hello,
I just bought the ATT note 4 but still it is not yet on my hands.......I saw that this device has many bands but as I am using t-mobile sim I would like to enable the aws band .......as someone did in this video using a different device ,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb0iCtG4T6I
any help?
thanks
I recently got an n910T for use on AT&T and just stuck my sim card in. I get LTE, but it's slow, like around 6MB down, so more like HSPA speeds. My phone does not show a model on the AT&T website. Should I call AT&T to register my IMEI? The main problem might be that my phone wants to always stay on band 2 even when I am in a signal area with much stronger band 17 (-110dB vs -85dB). When I am at work, in a metal building with AT&T repeaters, it stays on band 17 which is all that is available, so I know it can do band 17, it just does not want to.
