Not on stock 5.0. So if u unrooted to get the official 5.0 ota update theres no way to root the phone.

Hello I am trying to root my stock At&t. Note 3. It has the new OTA. Update completed, its running KitKat 4.4.4
I have read numerous forums on this, but i cant quite figure out if it is possible to accomplish. Attached will be my phones build numbers screenshot. Can someone please point me the right direction so i can Rootmy Note 3

If you weren't rooted before the update I don't think there is a way right now at this point.

Figured that's what the deal was.
I believe that you can odin back to 4.4.2 NC2 without issues and then towelroot and safestrap. Follow the thread in general section.

Do you know if this method works for Verizon? Im total stock on 4.4.4
Soon will receive a Lollipop, i have moto maxx and root, its possible make full backup to share a rom here in xda?

Still not sure what you mean? So you want to share your stock rom after u take the ota of lollipop or are u making a stock rom of the ota lollipop?

If believe that as long as u did a backup on twrp u will be able to. I have used twrp back ups for my m8 that my friends gave me. So i dont see why it wont work. You should be ok. @adrynalyne or @zathus what do you guys think?
I dont think twrp will work for non roor users and probably i will lose root after update too

I've made roms from nandroids in the past. So its possible, though I'd feel more comfortable extracting the image from Motorola.

you will have the bootloader unlocked so once u take the update flash twrp again and then flash supersu file from chainfire within twrp and u have root back.
Edit: If i am wrong please someone correct me but this is what it seems can be done.

He was so keen that he was gonna get lollipop soon so was wondering!
If you are rooted its fairly easy to pull the images... You dont need twrp for that as well... But it will only work on Unlocked Bootloaders...

Before someone flames you, i'll tactfully let you know that there are already posts asking the same thing. I can assure you once a root method is discovered it will be posted and you will find it without question. Till then we just need to be patient.

I tried the PingPong root method used on the S6 with no luck. I did add the FPtag that the OP asks for in requesting new devices, so who knows, maybe they will look into S 5 support

Unless we can roll back BL then it won't work, unfortunately.
My att note 3 was on 5.0 with locked boot loader and went all the way back to 4.4.2 to root

It also has to do with qfuse counts.
muniz_ri posted a very informative message in one of the other related threads, but I've lost track of it, but one of the counters that is hardware based once flipped will prevent earlier BL from functioning with the hardware.
Thus, for the G900A once you've run the OC4 bootloader you can't go back to the earlier editions.

phone is stuck at bootlop..because im so stupid my efs was wiped while i was in 5.1.1 testing some stuff...i have my efs backup but now it wont flash ..im afraid i might have to restore back to the first 5.1.1

Uh oh. At least you have it backed up. If you go back make sure you root and grab that ota zip
