I was just playing around with my Nexus 7 and I came across a neat and convenient trick to dispose of a app from the app drawer that you may have mistakenly selected and you only get three options uninstall, app info or simply drop the app on the home screen of your Nexus device. Well, there's a fourth option! Simply long press a app from your home screen or app drawer. Then, fling your finger that's holding down the app down up and release! That's it! From the home screen you don't have to take a app all of the way up to the white x remove then red release delete. From the bottom or where ever that app is on your screen you want to remove or replace, just press and hold the app you want to remove, fling your finger in motion down then up release and watch it fly away off of your screen! I think this only works with Jelly Bean, but this my friend is very convenient!

I can add another cool trick: slide up from the bottom of the screen where the 3 buttons are to bring up the Google search. Neat.
Another cool trick in Jelly Bean. Settings > About Tablet/Phone > Android Version (tap repeatedly for surprise)

It shows a lockscreen-style circle for that. Kinda unnecessary, but cool. A quick swipe up from the home button works just as well.

There's an easter egg in the settings app. Go into "about tablet". Tap the version number many times. After that, press and hold the Jelly Bean.

That is actually launching Google Now. If you do not have search history turned on for your google account, you will only see a google search.
If you have history, it will show more information cards.
I'm not quite sure if you're serious or you're really just now discovering the features marketed in the presentations.

Not everyone watched the presentations. No reason to be unnecessarily mean. I thanked him since I didn't know about the trick at all and these types of threads are awesome.
couldnt do it for the life of me and figured it must be a N7 thing only at the moment. But then I re-read the directions on how to do it... derp:silly:

If you long press either the back button or the multi-window button (I forget the technical name of it) and swipe up it will bring up google now as if you were holding down the home button.

Is "Hide navigation bar per app" still there?
Hi, I've just bought the LG GFlex today. My D955 comes with JB 4.2.2.
I do really love the feature that let me hide the navigation bar per app, I find it extremely useful.
I'm really curious to know whether this setting is still available into the new KitKat update.
Reading that the LG G Pro 2 having already KitKat doesn't have it, although it has a software nav bar, I'm wondering whether this feature is incompatible with KitKat due to its full screen API.
Those of you who already updated their GFlex can please answer this question?
Thanks
I am also interested in this question.
Some have the 4.4.2, could give us the answer.
Thank you.

I'm curious as to if google wallet tap and pay finally works. I may be completely mistaken, but on KitKat, I don't believe you need the secure element like you did on older android versions. Not having tap and pay is one of my few complaints about this phone.

I just updated my F340K to 4.4 and now I get a google error in each boot, "com.google.services.gapps has halted". I tested several solutions like clear cache, clear google data, also removed my google account from mobile phone and still appears.
anybody with same problem?.

I'm replying to myself, the problem comes from swiftkey app (swipe keyboard), after unistall it the error message gone. Maybe a compatibilty issue with KitKat.
I left the solution here for further reference.

Crap. I miss that coming from my old Galaxy Nexus. I figured as soon as I got on a carrier phone, it would be blocked because they have that worthless pile of garbage Isis as their own.
Hi again guys, after update to 4.4 I'm having very heavy battery problems. I lost around 20% of autonomy, I already check startup software without results, anyone in same situation?.

kitkat update, looking good
Got my kitkat update yesterday (I'm in the UK with an f340 model). Things I've noticed so far:
Text does look sharper (different font?).
Home screen now available in portrait.
Better way of handling apps in full screen (before there was a small arrow at the bottom of the screen to show the soft keys if you'd chosen to hide them for selected apps. Now you swipe up to show the soft keys - definite improvement).
You can hide the volume and/or brightness sliders in the notification pull down.
You can now say OK Google when you launch Google by swiping up the home key.
Signal strength, and other information in the status bar at the top are now white/light grey (I've already forgotten if they were green before!)
Love this phone!

Anyone who has already installed L, can you post screenshots of the settings to see what the options are?
This is one of the best new features and would like to know how it works exactly.
Can certain contacts get passed the do not disturb feature?

Discovered yesterday if you have your phone in a app that you can put in landscape mode if you pull down your quick settings you'll see s finder and quick connect there. Why you can't find them regularly is beyond me. But hope that helps you out. Though just saw you don't seem to have the options period so that is quite odd.
This is what I see on my quick panel.
As you can see, I don't have the S Finder and Quickconnect options.

That's odd as I don't have sbeam, multi window and a Couple other ones in mine. I actually saw someone in another forum who's layout of settings was completely different than mine. I suppose if you really use these features a lot you could try to Odin the original firmware and I'd think it should be there. Seems as this would be the only solution sadly. Though then in that case s beam will be gone along with a couple others. Now I'm kind of upset that I don't have a way to use s beam on my phone it's installed just non existent hah.

S beam was replaced by android Beam and is usuable through aps like Gallery or Es explorer to share with other phones that are NFC capable. This looks like the pull down from an S5 rather than an s6. which is really odd can you take a screenie of your Phone info. and show build number and such.

That I know but android beam sucks and goes through Bluetooth instead of sbeam using WiFi and Bluetooth. And from what I've seen editing the build.prop could enable s finder and quick connect.

Well that is certianly odd. to say the least. its like you have a S5 quick toggle drop..as air guesture and S beam were removed, one because ((S - beam cause Google produced a more universally working version and air gesture was more a battery hog than actually usefull)) But your build props and Device match description though. well quick connect, only usefull if you have a Smart tv and you want to show whats on your phone and google now pretty much can do what S-find does.)) but really other that doing a a full Odin with the stock firmware I don't know what to say.

One of the especially aggravating strategies carriers use is to meddle with the UI. Verizon crippled or removed a number of features on my Note 7. Thus I could not find Samsung Cloud Backup (15GB Free storage), or Quick Connect. I know VZW wants to sell me storage, but why do the care abou Quick Connect? Beats me. However, a user on another forum posted a solution. Download the app QuickShortcutMaker, install, then run. There are three categories. Scroll down ACTIVITIES and you will see Quick Connect ...as well as other missing components. Not all activities can be linked to a shortcut, only the main program. Quick Connect has more than four activities associated with it. The com.samsung.android.qconnect.ui.Main Activity seems to be the one to choose. Tap on it and then you'll see a screen to choose a shortcut, etc. I believe this can also be done with Nova Launcher, but I prefer to keep the original launcher or Google's launcher.
On the old O.S. for this watch, when i tapped the screen I got the 'speak now' app which allowed me to easily navigate or get information while driving. Now, after the upgrade, i get the app drawer and have to scroll the 3rd page to get to it. Not very convenient. Anyone know how to set the speak now back to the default?
thanks
