[Q] How to Uninstall Stock Apps using Root Explorer - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, previously i have no problem delete any stock apps using root explorer/fx explorer.
But since i updated to lollipop and install back root explorer, it seems like something has changed.
Previously i just need to go system > app > then it will appear full list of item installed on my phone.
Now when i entering it showing list of folder only, in the folder it just an apk only...
Please help...Thank you

Yeah, its normal, nothing to be stressed about.
You can just delete those folders.
Btw the stock apps are not only in system/apps
But also priv-apps
Hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion.
But im wondering delete the folder doesnt mean it uninstall the apps right ?
Also, previously unsintall any apk doesnt required reboot, but now it need to reboot only it take affect.

[Q] New Android Market crashing, unable to install old one

Hi Everyone,
Looking for help for an issue, I installed the new android market and was messing around with Titanium Backup (forgot to backup the app, dumb me!) anyway I tried to uninstall the new market to go back to the old one but when I did this the market app is gone from the manage apps area. My phone is a N1, running 2.3.4 and rooted, this what I have tried:
- Install the old market manually from a downloaded vending.apk, not working crashes to .com.android.vending every time
- After this I went to look in the /system/app folder for vending.apk and the app is not there, neither I am unable to copy the app using Droid Explorer or Root explorer, it says it is coping the app but is not there
- Re-install gingerbread update again to see if it gets the app back, did not work, still not in system/app folder
Does anyone know why I am unable to copy the vending.apk to the system/app folder? the phone is rooted but still can-t
Thanks!
If you're having problems with root permissions, try using ROM Manager to fix permissions. Another possibility could be busybox, so I recommend installing the version with Titanium backup (under the Problems? section of the menu).
Updating the market can be tricky, but I always find wiping data from Google Services Framework and (use app manager) Market (easier to use Titanium), and rebooting helps. Make sure you reboot before trying to use the Market...
I didn-t know about the Fix Permissions feature of ROM manager, I tried it and it work, I can now place the file on the system/app folder.
Thanks a lot!

[Q] Reinstalling removed stock apps

Hello,
Please, can someone try to explain me next:
I removed few stock apps from system with root explorer. Before that, icons of those removed app were placed in folder System Applications. After a while I wanted to reinstall some of removed apps back by moving back apk file to system/app. Everything went fine. App is working again but app's icon is now placed in Downloads folder? How can I manage this to get this icon in original folder again, to System Applications?
Cheers

[Q] Can't remove completely application

Hi! I've uninstalled some applications but I can remove them completely.
When I go to "Settings" "Applications" "Manage" I keep getting this apps:
com.allrecipes.spinner.free
com.keramidas.tinaniumbackup
com.popcap.pvz_row
They all have 0.00kb of space. When I try to remove, it allows me. But when I've restart the phone, the same applications are there again.
Can anybody help me by telling me what can I do to remove them?
Thanks!
You got root ?
If you do
Download root explorer
And then go to system-->app
Dont forget to mount to R/W
(There is a botton at the top)
Then press long press on the app you want to uninstall, delete it.
Reboot the phone
And there you go .. you deleted the app you wanted

Hi! I've got root. But i'va looked at that folder and didn't find the files corresponding to the app I want to remove. They're still at the aplication manager :\
I've first removed some of the applications using titanium backup, but now, i've searched with root manager, and can't find any files with that name, buy they are @ the application manager.

[Q] Uninstall lockscreen

I used Option 30 in FirstAide : "Install Lock Screen and Disable The Original Lock Screen" which installed No Lock and Magic Locker
How do I uninstall them and reactivate the original lock screen? They don't respond to the usual long press option and don't appear in Android Assistant's uninstall tool or in Uninstaller.
The device is being sent back so I need to sort this out.
Option 22 Unroot the Kindle did not remove Magic Locker/Unlocker.
A factory reset left the 'No Lock' icon on the carousel but removed the Magic Locker icon.
I rooted it again, but a long press still would not remove either No Lock.
I used Option 30 to install the magic locker again in the hope that after installation, it might be removed in the conventional way - it didn't. Another Option 22 to unroot did not remove either of them.
I need to get these apps removed so I can send it back so can anyone help please. I'm willing to manually search for and delete the app files if need be, but I don't know where they are or what they're called.
If you have root now, install a root browser of some sort like Root Browser Lite. then look in the system/app folder for the no lock app and delete it if it is there. It may have a slightly different name but look for the icon.
There is also a Q&A section for questions like these.
Ok, root you kindle fire hd again. Check to see if you have superuser intsalled, and the SU file in the xbin folder in system folder. After its rooted, use your file explorer to get into system/app. Delete the magiclocker, and No Lock. Magiclocker will look like"com.(something i forgot) " and no lock too. Before deleting those, open no lock to make sure locking IS enabled. Then go to data/app and delete them from that folder too. After deleting both of those, you can reboot your kindle, and the regular lockscreen will show up. And try this way of unrooting: Go into system/app, delete all things you added in there, like (google play, vending.apk, googleservicesframework.etc, launchers) and go into data/app and do the same. Then reboot again. There should be no googgle play or launchers. Check again to see if there is nothing you added in there again. Then you should go into system/xbin and find the SU file. Delete that, AND DO NOT REBOOT YET. Go into apps, edlete things you downloaded from Gplay for absolute cleansiness, and after that uninstall the app superuser. Then reboot, and then click restore to factory defaults to bring it back to stock.
Thanks for your help (I couldn't find any Q&A on this but I am in a it of a panic as its being picked up tomorrow and I go to work shortly)
I have managed to get rid of googleservicesframework and vending but cannot find GPlay or similar. Google Play isn't listed in the apps.... has it gone or is it hiding somewhere?
Also, how do I "uninstall the app superuser"? SuperSU is listed in the apps but a long press doesn't uninstall it. Will deleting the apk file uninstall it. (Don't want to delete it without being sure because I may need it if the app isn't unistalled)
If an app is the system/app folder, then if you delete it and restart the kindle it will be removed. So I think superSU might be in there
But obviously removing superSU is the last app you should be removing, because then your root wont be working properly and you wont be able to get back into the system folder

yes, I recognised that, which is why I was worried I was looking in the wrong place.
anyway, it looks ok, no sign of the 'wrong' apps being there as far as I can tell anyway. Got to go to work now so it'll have to do.
thanks, and kudos to all

Fix uid error or error -24 in market

I figured out the UID issue.
You must have a file browser capable of root permissions or know how to use the terminal
Go to /data/system and look for uiderrors.txt
open it and take note of all the files listed in there.
Go into /data/data/ and remove those folders.
Reinstall the apps that were in conflict and everything should be good
The same fix applies for error -24 from the play store when installing apps. The only difference is that the uiderrors.txt will not have the offending files listed. You will need to know the application package name i.e. com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer

I believe it is being caused by HTC backup restoring app data. You should be able to remove the folder with root explorer as that's what I used.

You can easily remove that folder when ur using TWRP recovery. In advanced menu is a file explorer. After deleting the folder you can install e.g. quadrant again via playstore
