I've been trying to test the Wireless display function with the moto x 2013 but it won't even let me turn it on to scan for receivers. Both devices are on the same network and I've tested the display to work with a samsung tablet. Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Yes. I think I figured it out. It doesn't work if I have mobile data on for some reason (I think it disables it checking for wifi). I put the phone in airplane mode and turned wifi on and it worked.

I'm trying to find a hotspot widget, specifically one that enables and disables the built in AT&T hotspot. Yes I do have this enabled and authorized by AT&T, it just would be nice to have a widget where I just press it and it toggles it on and off. I've tried several from the marketplace but none of them worked, they would try to verify and it looked like it would turn on for a split second, but then turn off.

I like power toggles.

A widget that tries to enable hotspot, but shuts down sounds like you're not able to tether, or haven't configured your hotspot yet. Are you able to enable hotspot thru the system settings?

Hmm that doesn't work either. It will say "Please wait while verifying" then nothing, and the hotspot isn't turned on. My hotspot is working and setup, I have named it and put in a password and I can manually go into settings-connections-tethering and portable hotspot and click it on and it turns on and off just fine.
Anyone else have trouble with this?

I wish, I'm one of the poor saps who upgraded to kitkat.
same issue here
Going to bump this because I have the exact same issue on a rooted galaxy s5. I used hotspots toggle Widgets on my s4 without issue for years, but that one typically had custom Roms. On the s5 I'm running rooted stock 4.4.2
I do have legal tethering with at&t, and use it frequently so if anyone has a fix I'd greatly appreciate the info.

Anyone able to get this feature to work? My WiFi still hasn't turned on and I'm back at home.

Hi,
When my hotspot is activated, the hotspot toggle appears in the quick settings. When I press it, it'll deactivate the hotspot. But when I click it again, it doesn't turn on the hotspot. Does anybody recognizes this?
Thanks!

If you are on Verizon, may work on other carriers but not sure, you have to do the following:

I'm on Vodafone NL. Hotspot works great, but the toggle to activate doesn't work. It just shuts the hotspot down, but will never active the hotspot again. I need to do this via the settings menu. Really weird.

Weirdly enough that worked! Thanks!
I've recently noticed that even when I've switched off my Wi-Fi, the battery meter shows (claims?) that Wi-Fi is still active. I haven't tested it enough to see what effect this has had on the battery life, but still I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed this oddity. Is it common or just my phone?
Screenshot attached. WiFi was initially on for the first 10 minutes or so, and then switched off. WiFi scanning is set to off as is use WiFi networks to determine location.
Anyone have any idea whats going on?

My Pure edition has the same issue. From what I can tell, it does turn off and is just a meter issue.
Same here. You need to reboot while WiFi off to solve it.

To avoid this from happening you can disable the WiFi while still connected to the WiFi network. Otherwise it's a visual glitch with the Lollipop graph.
You need to turn off scanning always available in Advanced WiFi settings. It's not a bug or graphical glitch of any kind.
I am using havoc v2.9 in redmi 4x.
Wifi is always auto turned off after screen is turned off.
It is not turned off immediately but it will be after a moment. If I turn on screen, wifi is back.
Therefore, I can not download file if screen is off. It will be stopped.
Anyone know how to keep wifi is always on?

Sorry for late reply, Yes this i was talking and also the settings which are available in settings > havoc settings > battery savings. under suspended actions there is option to switch to 2G when screen is off (not sure if it is causing the issue) try to turn off that.
i have one issue that when i move out of saved Wi-Fi network and comes back to to same network, the Wi-Fi does not get connected automatically until i wake the device and this happens to all my saved Wi-Fi networks. (Wi-Fi is always turned on my device in day time, it is off in night or when not needed)
it should connect Wi-Fi automatically to saved Wi-Fi network(s) when i have not turned off Wi-Fi from my device before going out of the range of Wi-Fi and later coming back to same Wi-Fi network.
rather than this i do not face any issue with connecting Wi-Fi once i connect to it, even after locking the device or restarting the device.
it only does not get connected automatically when getting out of the range and coming back. it requires to wake the device once and it remains connected until i am in the range. after that i must need to wake device just once to connect.
