So, I flashed a bad kernel yesterday and today had to revert back to a nandroid backup I made before flashing.
But, I had installed some apps, etc. last night so I wanted to restore all of my apps and data that backed up at 3am last night.
So, after i restored the nandroid backup, I did a "restore all apps and data" from Titanium Backup.
However, during my lunch break, I went to play Angry Birds Rio and it was as if I had never played it before. None of my scores were there anymore.
Every night at 3am, I have Titanium Backup do the following batch operations:
Backup all new apps & newer versions.
Backup all system data.
What gives? Am I doing something wrong?
Losing game data isnt a big deal, but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing in the future.
Thanks!
Hopeful bump.
Have you tried uninstalling AB and doing another restore of just AB?
Do any of your other apps no longer have your data, or just AB?

Well, its weird...
Angry Birds Rio is the one where my data was lost.
I opened up the original Angry Birds earlier and my data still remained!
Do you think it could be something with the specific app that doesnt allow the data to be saved?
i posted a similar question in another thread. i tried moving the data from my og droid over from titanium and the only apps that did werent were angry birds and angry birds season
Are u using the free version or the free version and the pro key. Iv been using titanium since d1 and I always had that problem. Sometimes the data wouldn't load. Forget my exact method now but until I purchased the pro key, because I was tired of approving the apps manually, it would do that.
With the pro iv not had that problem. I always install system data then apps and data. Remembering to restart just after titanium is installed first elswise it doesn't see that u have done it

Remember that backing up all new apps and newer versions doesn't mean those that you change settings on. That backs up apps you have added since the last time you backed up or apps that have been updated through the market to a newer version.

Interesting...so if Angry Birds gets backed up with 1 level beaten and the next day I beat 3 more levels, will Titanium backup the data that says I beat the other 3 levels?
Not unless u back it up again.

OK so I'm trying to figure out what the best options are for backing my phone up every night.
Which of these should i do:
Redo backups for newer app versions
Backup all new apps & newer versions
Backup all user apps
Backup all system data
Backup all user apps & system data
Forced redo of your backups
Currently, I'm doing Backup all new apps & newer versions. Also doing Backup all system data. Is that wrong?
I should mention that angry birds resides on my SD card, does that make a difference in the backup or restore process?
Hello. Today I discovered that my camera stopped working - write camera error and that the camera end. I did a factory reset and restore backup titanium, but restatru gone again. Does anyone know what to do?
when you do the restore are u restoring also the system app ?
pls do wipe factory reset and when you wan restore from titanium choose restore missing apps not restore all the apps try it and it will work
It works! Thanks a lot! I became very desperate, the perception and the subsequent manually reset the settings I stated in despair. You saved me!
Even more so to know what actually happened.
Edit:
Strange, it seems that the problem does freeze applications using titanium backup. But why so suddenly? So far nothing like this happened ... Error Titanium backup? And what happens if you uninstall?
no problem , always when you want to do your backups , don't choose all the apps , choose user apps with data , this will prevent you from backing up your system apps , cuz if u installed new rom , probably not the same system apps will work for it ...
cheers
I'm getting the sameerror message when I try to open my camera app as well. I've factory reset it several times, only restored user apps and data from Titanium but it's still not working. I even tried to replace just the camera app from my Titanium backup with the same results (none).
I recently had a problem with my SGT losing the ability to rotate. After searching Google and the XDA forums I was able to locate a copy of the sensor file I needed to replace the one I had on my Tab. Would the same thing work for the camera - replacing the apk file (same with my GPS )?

Ok. So I'm new to a lot of this....I'm installing a new update of firekat V7 from V6. My question is I have I wipe and install correct and if so. Can I backup all my user apps and data using titanium and restore it all back again or do I have to start fresh pretty much? Would it cause any conflicts?
Yes. That is what it is for. You can even backup system data.
If you ever have a major update, or change ROMs completely do not ever restore system data. Just apps and app data.
So just in your case, just backup you apps and app data and then do the normal steps to install your update. After you are booted you can install it from the play store and then restore your apps.
I suggest getting the pro key as well. It will allow you to batch restore all the apps.
Semi Newb here, bear with me (came from IOS). Im having trouble with the restore process after I flashed a Rom for the first time (Pure Shamu). Prior to flashing the ROM is was on stock 5.0, unlocked, rooted. The process I went through to flash Pure Shamu.....1. Full Wipe 2. Wipe Cache 3. Flash Pure Shamu 4. Flash GAPPS 5. Flash SuperSU 6. Reboot. After I rebooted, I was asked to enter a password for Android. Upon searching, I found out this was do to the fact I was still encrypted. Wasn't positive how to get unencrypted without flashing a new kernel so I went ahead and flashed Franco Kernel. Everything then booted normally.
This is where I ran into problems with Titanium. I went to the Play Store and downloaded Titanium and proceeded to restore from the backup I created when I was stock. I made a back up of "all user apps + system data" The restore process seemed to go smoothly but once it was complete, hardly any of my apps actually restored. There is a huge list of apps in Titanium that are greyed out and and have a line strike though them. Im really not sure why this is happening. From what I have searched, I guess I can just redownload all of these apps from the PlayStore, but that seems like it defeats the purpose of backing stuff up. There are also items that are listed that aren't apps, ex: "Android System WebView, Android Work Assistant" among many others. I don't know what these do but they must do something since they were backed up.
I feel like Im banging my head against the wall with this whole process of flashing ROMS and restoring everything on the phone. The whole process seems very convoluted and not streamlined at all. I hear about people flashing different ROMS almost daily and it makes me wonder how they have the time. The actual flashing process is quick but this restore process has taken me forever. Maybe Im just doing it all wrong. If anyone could offer some advice, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks
1. Never restore system apps with TB!
2. Grayed apps with strike are not installed but you can restore them,
white apps are already installed/restored,
red and yellow aps are system apps.

Can you elaborate on that please? Why should I never restore system apps from TB? How would I prevent them from restoring?
Also what are all these other things that are greyed out that are not apps.
When you restore system apps, it usually comes to problems because the version of this can be different.
To restore user applications only, go to batch and restore all applications and data and uncheck all system apps.
For me there are no other gray things.

Sorry to drag this topic up again but I had one more question regarding backups. Is titanium also supposed to backup media (music, photos, videos, etc). From what I can see it is only for backing up apps and texts/call logs etc. It also doesn't appear to backup any settings within apps (maybe it should and isn't?).
What is the best way to backup media besides just keeping a copy on my comp and dragging it to device storage?
If anyone can assist me, that would be great. Thanks
I was running stock lollipop 5.0.1 on my note 4. I rooted my phone and supersu was installed during the process. I then installed Titanium backup and deleted all unwanted bloatware. Then i decided i wanted to unroot my phone( so i could be able to do normal software updates / and run stock rom with no bloatware). To flash back to stock i flashed N910TUVU1COD6_N910TTMB1COD6_N910TUVU1COD6 via odin. This however reinstalled all system bloatware that i removed with titanium backup. SO THEN, i re- rooted, re-installed titanium backup & re-deleted system bloatware, then went to supersu, and selected UNROOT from the apps options. This closed the app and restarted my phone. When it booted back up i went to the market to reinstall titanium backup i get this messege " Unknown error code during application install:-504"
My phone is currently stock rooted, with supersu installed, awaiting the fix so that i can install titanium backup.
PLEASE HELP; I am trying to install a custom rom, and need my apps backed up via titanium backup!!

Try clearing data from the play store app and Google play services then redownload ttb. If that doesn't work you could try wiping dalvik and cache in recovery but it'll take 20 minutes for your phone to boot after doing that and your phone will get hot in the process!
Thank you. I have done that about 3 times with no success. Even unrooted and re rooted. I'm really trying to avoid having to factory reset. And even if do, I don't know if it will fix what this problem is.
Sorry buddy. Start over. Odin to stock + factory reset.
You can then run stock rooted without the bloat.
Or custom rommed up.
We probably aren't getting any important updates soon.
My error 504 Fix - Sprint LG G4
Because I went through hell trying to fix this error while reinstalling Titanium Backup *Root* on my once rooted, then unrooted, then rerooted Sprint LG G4, I will explain what finally worked for me.
First off, the app was installed and working fine and was used to backup my entire phone to the TB cloud. So, when I rerooted my phone and expected to reinstall TB and then go get my stuff, so as to basically restore the phone to the way it was before unrooting, I was pissed that I kept getting that stupid error code. I tried all the suggestions for fixing; delete the cache & data for Google Play Store & Google Services Framework, remove gmail account and reboot, and delete data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file. Nothing, by itself, worked. So here's what I did:
1. I downloaded a file managing app for root. I used File Explorer (for root).
2. Using File Explorer, I found the data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file and deleted it.
3. I deleted the cache & data for Google Play & Google Services Framework.
4. I removed my Gmail account and rebooted the phone.
5. I opened Google Play Store. At this point the app will ask for your account info and when done, your Gmail account will be back.
6. I located the Titanium Backup *Root* app and installed it. It's important to note that if you have the Pro version of TB, I found you should install the free version 1st, then install the Pro version after that.
Presto! No Error Code 504! I had TB back on my phone, once again!!!
Hope this helps anyone having this same issue. I see no reason why this shouldn't work on any phone, but I can't say for sure.

Only number 2 and 3 (delete only cache) is needed in my case. Now running well.

I tried but it didn't work
I even tried to install the Titanium.apk directly ( copied from another phone) but I am receiving the error message:
application not installed.
Any help please?
Daniel
That's all that I did. Recently I had that problem once again. And it was fixed... Forgot the steps to get there. But you may try using cleaner apps or SDmaid to get rid of the corpses.
I just had the same problem and step two
2. Using File Explorer, I found the data/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup file and deleted it.
did it for me.
Chris
This worked for me on the first attempt (just deleting the com.kerimidas folder listed above) .....and NOTHING EVER WORKS FOR ME ON THE FIRST TRY!!!
THX!!!
I also had the same problem, did everything not helped.
finally downloaded the titanium .apk file from internet and its now working fine!
