Hi,
First of all I would say i'm a bit of novice when it comes to flashing android phones.
My issue is my wife's S3 Mini (I8190N) got stuck in bootloop. It shows device name then a circle, vibrates and shows device name again.
Following the advice of the forums I have done the following:
- Got it successfully into download mode
- Flashed stock rom successfully (stock rom + golden pit using Odin 3.09)
- Tried to factory reset but 3 button combo did not work
So I then tried
- Flashed PARAM + pit
- Then Flashed stock + pit
- Again no luck with factory reset. When I try the three button combo it just stays displaying the model name.
So I then tried
- Flashed 3 button enable ROM + pit
- Then flashed stock + pit
- Again no luck with factory reset. Again it gets stuck saying device name on the 3 button combo. This phone had issues with its power button so it is missing and I am manually shorting the contacts. I am not sure if I am holding the button down long enough maybe?
Anyway can anyone suggest a course of action to help me getting this phone to work again? Custom ROM maybe?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Hello everyone - I just tried to load a rom in the dev section (I have done this before many times). Rom ended up boot looping. I used ODIN 1.85 to load kk9 back onto the Note and after ODin reboot, the Note still bootlooops! Any other way to get a working kernel back onto the phone?
Solved! I had to pull battery, go into recovery with Vol Up + Power + Home Button then clear user data and cache. Rebooted just fine after that .
I was running Android 4.0 ICS custom rom on my Galaxy S I9000 (international version), and everything was okay.today, I turned it off, and then I tried to turn it on again normally, but it kept showing the vivd colors screen without continuing. I remembered that the same problem occurred with me before on 2.3.3, and the solution was a simple odin-flashing of just one file. The problem now is that I couldn't remember which exactly of the 4 files in odin this one is (it's the one responsible for mounting the sdcard), and I connected my device while in downloading mode and recklessly flashed only PIT file (with other fields empty). Now the device doesn't boot at all, as if there is no source of energy within. Can the Company's customer support here fix it anyway or is this its end?!!!!!!
Remove te battery and put it back in. With the 3 button combo go to download mode and flash a 3 file firmware.
Try to boot in download mode (vol down + Home + Power) and flash CWM again!
i am not sure if this is the right place for this question. please let me know if its not.
in the beginning it was just restarting on samsung and model number logo. I am trying to bring it back to stock rom for i9000m bell canada.
i have tried few steps already but after flashing all the files it just stuck after passing initial screen
i have tried all steps from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
please let me know if i can try anything else to save my phone.
Could anybody please help me out ?
Sure, try this. ( I have the same phone ).
1. download ukg3 from samfirmware.com
2. Flash in pda in odin with 512 pit file
3. When finished, phone will bootloop. Thats normal
4. Pull battery and reboot into recovery.
5. Wipe data and factory reset.
6. If you get a dbdata error, that normal as well. Search and find the empty dbdata partition that you can flash with odin and flash in pda with no re partition.
7. You're good to go
Thanks for your reply.
i have downloaded the file and it is I9000UGKG3_I9000BMCKG3_BMC.zip
after unzip i have got only one .tar file which is I9000UGKG3-homebinary.tar
sorry did not get any .pit file with this.
i have tried another method before which is almost similar to this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
is it the same method you are talking about or is it something different. i tried with pit file with partition checked. but it still did't work
My only guess is if there is anything wrong with volume up button because after flashing all files, i am not able to enter recovery mode but pressing volume down + home + power is taking me to download mode. but vol up +home
+ power button is not going to recovery mode.
any suggestion ?

I think if you can't enter recovery mode , your phone already soft brick , you can recover it by flash back the stock ROM

Thanks Mohammad, as i mentioned link in my last post . i have tried stock ROM flashing. I have downloaded all the files (CSC, phone and pit ) from sammobile and tried to flash stock rom but still doing same thing. If you have any other link please let me know.
any help please , seems like my phone is bricked. I have tried most of the files on net. but it just get stuck at processing ring after initial screen .. please help
Your phones not bricked, you just need a pit file. A bit of searching ans you may find one.
.when I downloaded Odin for my device (Odin has device specific versions) it came with the pit

Solutions are all posted multiple times SEARCH .
Read the basic faqs and guides first .
Suggest format then boot to download mode and flash a stock rom via Odin .
Fails then its a paid for repair .

Hi guys, so i got a new Mini2, and... messed with it, pulled a firmware version from a dif zone by mistake... after i had cwm jena and clockworkz working, installed that asian firmware, and never got the phone to work again, tried several stock rom installs (17 and counting, with/without jena firmware download also), it just keeps doing the boot loop, and i can't access the Recovery menu (vol +/- home power buttons at start).
I've been reading all the meaningful threads here, tried doing button combination with battery, without and nothing seems to work.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Take it to samsung service senter if u got warranty and if isnt try to use another mini 2 battery but I think it may not work and try to press all butoms at same time for 2min and if nothing work buy or make a JTag

go to download mode and don't accept terms (up volume) and quick hold recovery combination when it will start to reboot (ofc when samsung logo will appear don't hold keys). Try few times and it will work, if not 1st then another time. Do factory restet, reboot phone and take off battery. Turn on in download mode and install MD1 XEO stock and do again factory reset using trick from above (go to download mode and don't accept terms (up volume) and quick hold recovery combination when it will start to reboot.)
Worked...

You sir... you are my new hero! key trick is pressing the recovery combination quick before logo appears and ... guess what i was holding the damn buttons so hard i was thinking they'd eventually lose pressure
My mini2 is alive
I'm glad to help you cheers
I have similar problem:
1. no recovery mode, only download mode
2. no matter what stock firmware I flash using odin I get bootloop
I tried the trick to go download mode > reject codition and then press the recovery mode combination but did not work
I wonder if there is a Cyanogen firmware in tar.md5 format so I can flash with odin ?
