here is a zip file that contains the g920F boot animations. this gets rid of the big white tmobile screen on boot up. put all the bootanimations in the system/media folder and set permissions to 0644. put the 2 audio files in the system/media/audio/ui folder and set permissions to 0644.
Thanks for sharing. But to ditch the obnoxious white T-Mobile screen, all you must do is go to /system/media and rename "bootsamsungloop.qmg" to "bootsamsungloop.qmg.bak" and reboot.

You could do that but you don't get the boot animation that the international Roms have with their loop qmg file. Which is the point of this post. Plus you don't get the international boot sound which I like better than T-Mobile.

Thanks (I#m not completely sure, if i had to use it, because german t-mobile seems to only change the files in csc_contents directory)
to make it work, i had to rename
"PowerOn.ogg" "bootsamung.qmg" and "shutdown.qmg"
to
"PowerOn.ogg.bak" "bootsamung.qmg.bak" and "shutdown.qmg.bak"
after that i had stock samsung logo back. don't know why t-mobile replaced such a simple logo with it burning-in-the-eyes-bright t-mobile log..

you should keep the poweron.ogg file. apparently renaming/ removing it causes system slowdown and spam for the search for the file. im going to try and see if the international poweron.ogg can be used.
Yes the international poweron.ogg can be used. It's in the zip in the first post. It doesn't show anything down.

Sorry, forgot to point this out. I only renamed the files in /system/csc_contents/. The files in /system/media/ was not touched (but bevore replaced with the one of the op. wich didn't work unless i renamed the files in csc_contents). So PowerOff.ogg and PowerOn.ogg are on the system and will not slowdown or spam.
Thanks for this... Huge improvement over that blinding white T-Mo screen. And the T-Mo jingle made me cringe
Thanks to this! Worked like a charm!

Hello all,
Attached to this post is an updated version of the BIOS boot animation for your shiny Desire HDs I don't own one myself (just yet at least!), but I was making one for LeeDrOiD's ROMs, and thought it would be good to create a generic one if you are using a different Custom ROM.
This is based off of the original creative/design of frysee! Thanks to him for allowing me to mod this boot animation for the DHD!
I have tested this on my Classic Desire and it seems to work great, so if anyone runs into any issues, please let me know in this thread.
Some things you should note:
bootanimation.zip is within the scar45-desireHD-bios-bootanimation.zip
android_audio.mp3 is also included, which is start up sounds from an old PC
You should be able to replace the originals, either by replacing them in the .zip before flashing, or using S-OFF (or recovery) to replace them after.
Most common path for these 2 files is /system/customize/resource
Previews below were mangled by the forum upload process, but they're perfectly crisp 480 x 800 PNGs within the .zip
Note that this did take me a good while (editing 92 .PNGs), since I couldn't use the classic Desire BIOS generator to make the specs change to the Desire HD, so any donations are greatly appreciated, especially if you get a kick out of this boot animation!
Oh, and if you want to include this boot animation on your website/ROM/etc., just send me a PM first...thanks!
Hope you enjoy!

Hi goran, I don't have a Desire HD myself, but I believe you should look in /data/local to see if the original .zip file is there. If so, simply replace it (you'll need S-OFF, or do it via Recovery using ADB).
Do NOT try and flash the .zip that you downloaded (scar45-desireHD-bios-bootanimation.zip) as it contains another .zip file within, namely 'bootanimation.zip' which is the one that you should replace. Neither .zip files are actually flashable, so you'll probably just get an error if you attempt to. With the provided .zip package that I've attached to this post, you should be able to Google and find the answers as to how to replace it if you're still having difficulties.
Thanks for your interest in this too!
It's quite funky. I had a little chuckle when I saw that apparently the HTC Ace has an i440BX motherboard in it though

This may not be the best looking boot animation, as it's just a combination from the teaser trailer on YouTube.
It's looped and will just replay. This is my first boot animation....first of anything in this sorts. Going to do a complete overhaul this week of it, so please refrain from flaming this noob . In Xbox terms...I'm a scrub
Here is the video I made of it as a preview:

I used WinZip. I highlighted all my files(pictures tthat are in the two different folders you're using to store photos ,and desc.txt file- right click and choose: add to archive and make sure the setting is set to 'store'.
I used 256 x 256 (PNG FILES) The same dimensions as the animation in Cyanogen Mod. My current project uses a different resolution than my current.
When you play the YouTube video, you will see an annotation that leads you to my newest boot animation, that is the video sshowing the boot animation running at different res.
Download my ananimation and extract the files to you desktop. Take the desc file and the names of the folders, and put them on your desktop. The desc.txt file will have your settings and you can just change them.accordingly to your devices dimensions or FPS you want your animation to run at.
Did this help?

Yes. depending on the dimensions of your phones screen, you wont have a problem.
rename your current bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.Bak..
Flash my boot ani and test it. If not, you'll still have the stock bootani.
Or you simply put tthe bootani in system/data where your initial boot animation was/is.
OK, I've found a couple Dr. Who boot animation files that are supposed to be flashable in CWM but I haven't been able to get any of them to work. Anyone know of a working Dr. Who boot animation that is flashable in CWM? Preferably one with no sound but at this point I'll take anything.
EDIT:
Here are the three I've tried. I've also tried the on in BAC. It worked the first time I tried it but then I flashed my ROM and now it won't work.
If you post the ones you have I will tinker with them and see if I can figure out what's up with it

I don't think there is a Dr Who bootanimation for the epic yet so whatever zip he has is probibly has different size frames. Most likley they will need to be resized. Also the desc.txt file will need to be edited with the appropriate measurements.

It's pretty easy once you have a video I use iwisoft video converter to change the movie to. Pngs, keep special attention to file size, I usually do a 5 fps, then take those images, put them into a new folder called bootanimation, make 2 folders in there part0 and part, take the images and put them into part0, and then take part of the images at the end(the portion you would like related on long boots, and then do a search for boot animation maker, and download it, follow the prompts, and you have a bootanimation

I'm running jelly bean on the kindle fire. It's android 4.1 flashed on to the kf, with kernel 3.0 unofficial. And BAC isn't working cause it's on a rom and I can't flash it using twrp 2.1 so i need to do it with root explorer. Anyways it stores the bootanimation.zip file at system/ mediaa. I can get the picture perfectly. But no sound. And for some reason there's no system/media/sounds file and when I try making it with the sub folder it just ignores it. It would look like this. System/media/sounds/poweron/xxxxxx.mp3. Anyway I want Dr who bootloader with sound that can be flashed. And if I posted in the wrong thread I'm sorry go easy on me I'm only 15
This will be a thread collection of custom boot animations for everyone to share with each other.
Fell free to post any you like, make sure it is 1080x1920!
In most roms (not every), the boot/down animations will go in: system/customize/resource
They will also have to be renamed like this:
hTC_bootup_one.zip
hTC_downanimation.zip
Click to collapse
I believe this will change once 4.2.2 is out. I will update this post when the new update rolls out.
To Setup Custom Boot Animation
1.) Download boot/down animation of choice (1080x1920)
2.) Download a root file explorer (es file explorer, root explorer)
3.) Copy the boot animation zip file
4.) Navigate to /system/customize/resource with explorer
5.) Paste zip file
6.) Rename old boot/down animation with .bak at the end
7.) Rename new boot/down animation
I will start first and post what I have been using for boot/down animations.
This is a Beats Audio animation. The same one that comes with viperROM just without the viper part.
If this starts to grow I can even turn this OP into a list and get everything organized to help everyone find stuff a little easier.
Thanks for starting this man!
