It goes to sleep just like when you are in system. Press power button to wake it. If it's bothering you can disable sleeping as well in recovery settings.

when i tried power button like in twrm recoveries on my other phone, nothing happened. tried 2 times. will try again

OK, for now you can disable the screen timeout completely. The bug isn't on my part and out of my scope, seems to be some incompatibility with mediatek framebuffer and this recovery. Google is open sourcing all the stuff slowly so things might take time to stabilize and be compatible with this new platform.

Flashed it and using it.. Till now no bug. Thanks for this recovery

@all: Can you clarify my queries. I have been using samsung and new to bootloader stuff.
1. When you unlock bootloader, does it notify of updated pushed by Google?
2. Does unlocked bootloader shows a tampering icon, samsung devices does?

recovery sleep problem
for recovery sleep mode i must say there is some problem as is doesnt wake up easily..

1. There isn't any change to the ability to receive updates.
2. No tampering icon. The bootloader splash screen will show the text "=> OEM unlocked" in white at the lower left of the display.

As compared to CWM, it is working smoothly without any bugs and hats off,

Hi, I did not find any issue with it.. I can wake it up by simply pressing power button once.. Did it more than 5 times..

BUG - this recovery doesn't format SD ext even if it is present and thus skips the formatting of sd-ext

till now i havenot used it for backup will c

This is the best recovery available for Android One devices...
Have backed up the stock rom in Karbon Sparkle V before flashing Cyanogen.
Would love to see further development of this recovery...

Yes,this recovery works on all three android one devices.Infact all threads in this section are compatible with the three devices

hi.
i managed to backup my entire rom.
without rooting or unlocking the boot loader.
and the only bug i found with this recovery is that once the device enters into sleep mode there is no way to wake it up i had to disible screen timeout but rest all works properly.
now my last question for now.
in my backup folder there are files like.
.android_secure.vfat.tar, .android_secure.vfat.tar.a, boot.img, cache.ext4.tar, cache.ext4.tar.a, data.ext4.tar, data.ext4.tar.a, data.ext4.tar.b, nandroid.md5, recovery.img, recovery.log, system.ext4.tar and system.ext4.tar.a

INSTALLATION:
The firmware is present aroma, all installation through it
Himself zip firmware throw on MicroSD-card in a convenient folder you
Reboot and go to rekaveri (when loading lights LED, press the Volume Up)
In rekaveri do:
Wipe User Data
Wipe Cache
Advanced => Wipe Dalvick Cache
In rekaveri click Install zip from sdcard => choose zip from sdcard (For phones without slot MicroSD.)
In rekaveri click Install zip from sdcard => choose zip from external storage (for phone co ​​slot MicroSD.)

Stuck! 4real!
Okay so i installed the ROM , but i always got the error processor.media stopped working , i could not enter Play Store or Music or Photos , or even download anything even if i connect the USB with my computer it showed a grayed :E Disk and when i double click on it it shows "Please enter your Disk." So i attempted to root my phone with iRoot and with MTK Droid Tools so i could use the Mobile Uncle Tools .apk cause for some reason it would not go to CWM when i press power+up volume and when it was installing iRoot or something it rebooted it self looks like it wiped the OS along with it and it got stuck on boot screen , from this point i attempted to flash kitkat ROM 4.jan.2015. but FlashTools does not detect my phone. So i cant do anything at all. If somebody has a idea on how can i fix this?
PS : Also CWM cant mount anything.

So yea i get this when i try Mobile Upgrade S :/ And Idol X 6040D does not have a removable battery , as it is asking me to remove it. Maybe i did not installed the drivers? Can you send me the drivers for Idol X 6040D ?

You don't get the error? Also did you just clicked next through the whole installation of the ROM minus the GAPP installation.

Yes, the post has been edited... firstly we are in a great need of Custom recovery and we will be grateful if someone does that for us.
if the recovery ( CWM/ TWRP) is made the rooting issue will be solved. Then we will move on to the Custom Rom section. But, for now we need a working custom recovery.

Basically we are noob on this thing thats y asking help from expert dev's we are trying hard since last 1 month no success we are unable to figure out we build cwm too but when we flash its getting flashed but when we go to recovery again its showing stock recovery

Already tried its showing successfully installed but when we go to recovery it showing stock recovery only

These are of no help as they confuse Lenovo Note K3 with our Phone...... infact, our phone is different from K3 note in many aspects.
None of these methods floating around are actually working, including all the PC rooting softwares.
Matter of fact, people giving these tutorials don't even own a real Lenovo A7000a IRL. We are the users and we are well acquainted with the Dilemma.
A custom Recovery ported by a altruistic developer can only put us out of our miseries.

This phone is pretty good. I think, it Comes with unlockable bootloader / unsafe boot image. Even the source + stock firmware is already available.
If experienced developers helps us by giving any custom recovery, we will be very thankful and grateful to them as this great phone is lacking in this area only.

Matrix and I were the 1st one to test it and get root. So ..yes, of course it worked for us

writes the cmw recovery but the phone still shows not rooted

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, functions often unsupported by stock recovery images. It is, therefore, often installed when rooting Android devices, although it isn't dependent on a device being rooted to be installed.
I wanted to use the latest version of TWRP and hence started working on this project. It did take a lot of time and failures and HELP..!! from a lot of people especially @tank0412 who helped me to solve a lot of errors during compiling.

How to Install :
Currently It is available in Fastboot mode only. I will upload a TWRP flashable zip ASAP..
1. Boot in fastboot mode (DroidBoot Mode aka Bootloader)
2. Connect your phone via USB cable and flash using the following command.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
3. That is it. Enjoy the latest Version of TWRP.

Try sending me a log. In twrp goto Advanced -> Copy log. Reboot.. send me recovery.log from internal storage.

latest twrp working fine . no touch issues or whatsoever was found by me. i was able to make a clean install of aicp nougat (without gapps). i can confirm its working .Thank you
edit : if you need i can upload a flashable zip as i flashed it using twrp

Suggestion : please use services like pastebin or Zerobin for showing logs.

The problem was with the version in zip file(of theme). I have modified it. Download from here : https://goo.gl/eDgHAf
Send me link if you want any other theme to be compatible.
I will update TWRP soon so it accepts most of the themes.

i cant post the link but apparently there's a lineage OS android 9.0 rom out for beckham. this could even be old news as well, if so i apologize.
it can be found in the cyanogenmods forums.
not sure if anyone has tried it but when i flash it i get "pixel experience wizard keeps closing" error upon bootup. perhaps i used the wrong gapps but not sure yet...
im using the 1929-4 btw

Hi guys, my wife has the Moto Z3 play and suddenly the video quality has become very poor and grainy, any ideas, I cleared data and restarted the phone with no luck, I also installed the modded gcam app and this is also poor quality. The phone is only 5 weeks old and is undamaged. Any help would be appreciated.

My bf is a computer programmer. He's done SOMETHING to my z3 in which I ABSOLUTELY cannot get it rooted. Steps please for stubborn problems....KEY WORD.....

Settings, typed in the search bar color correction.

I need a blankflash or something to fix the "flash permission failure" in adb
at all i cannot boot in twrp because of this error, when i try the system send me "your device is corrupt, it can't be trusted and will not boot" and twrp boot fail
Also if someone can send me at least the motorola stock recovery file maybe i can flash this via adb

Hello,
I have the Moto Z3 Play XT1929-4 with Android 8.1.0
I would like to root my phone without erasing anything if possible.
Is there a simple , easy to follow tutorial applicable to my phone / Android version? I tried searching the forum but could not find anything specific.
I tried Kingroot and Kingoroot apks on my phone and neither worked. I am totally fine using my PC to do this.
My goal is to be able to work with my Waze voices but I cannot access the Data folder unless my phone is rooted so I don't need anything fancy.
Any help is appreciated.

I have been off XDA for a few years. I recently got a Verizon Moto Z3 put onto another carrier other than Verizon, It is working well but I am curious if I would be able to Flash a Stock Non Bloated Rom (likely a Verizon rom Id assume, since its a Verizon phone originally) to the device with out affecting its port over... please provide any help you may be able to. Phone was taken from Verizon and moved to Metro by Tmobile. If you need additional details please ask.
I am familiar with Odin and the Flashing process, just a few yearas out of practice.

What's the sku for the bootloader unlockable model? Is it XT1929-4? I'm about to pick one of these up and I want to get the right one.

So to my understanding since I happened upon the Verizon variant of the z3 I'm pretty much screwed as far as unlocking the bootloader and rooting this bad boy huh.

Ya I tried that first thing. Pulled the bootloader code from the phone and ran it but it's not eligible to be unlocked. Some one told me patching the boot.img file with magisk would give root but with a picked bootloader I'm kinda weary of trying it.

Afraid to Update to Pie?
So I bought 2 XT1929-4 Z3's, one for me & one for my wife. I did all theuupdates (ota) & rooted it w/Magisk. All was well until I went to use the camera. It just wouldn't work, ever. So I unrooted & returned it. I'm now using the one I got for my wife and I'm scared to accept the Pie OTA because of my first experience. This phone works great & I haven't unlocked it or rooted it. I don't want to ruin this one too.
can anyone tell me if they've done this OTA without issues?

Lately my phone is sluggish. When I open an app it is a delay of about a minute and when playing a game it constantly freezes and all apps give a pop up message of the app is not responding to wait or close the app. Is there any way to fix this?
