[Q] Create your own pre rooted FTF file - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I´d like to create my own pre rooted FTF file based upon 14.5.a.0.242 for my C6903.
In the end, root means that there is a su binary on the system, right?
Thus, would this be the way: take a standard 14.5.A.0.242 and add a su binary to the stuff and then flash it?
Can you extract a FTF file, add a single binary and then put it together back again?
Where do I get the su binary from?
SuperSU could be downloaded later from the play store I think.
Thanks.

How Can I update Busybox via update.zip?

Can someone tell me how I can update Busybox via Update.zip?
I make a new update.zip with the new Superuser and would like to add the new Busybox 1.18.
After some trys I give up. All seems ok but the needed files for the Speedfix are not there.
I mean mkfs.ext2.
Any ideas?
I think i have .apk then you just install it with/from the file manager, if you need?

Help unrooting

Need to load an app on my phone that can detect the presence of superuser.apk and su, so I'm trying to delete those items. I installed them by flashing a zip in recovery. However, due to the kernel level r/w protection on /system, I can't delete superuser or su by normal means (i.e., a root file explorer).
Anybody know how I can get rid of them? I assume I need some sort of a flashable zip, but haven't found one. Thanks.
Edit: Never mind. Figured out that if I just delete the /system folder from the SuperSU zip, the updater script automatically deletes all old superuser files, and then has no source for the new files. So basically it just removes SuperSU and su. I think that got the job done.

[Q] How to Flash my Xperia ZR (C5502)??

I have a Xperia ZR (C5502) from Dubai and I am still waiting for the KitKat OTA after more than a month of its release. I have heard some of the members here advising that people like me should just flash the US or Taiwan ROM. However, I do not know how to do that. I don't know where to find the ROM and how to use the Flashtool to flash it. I would also prefer the US ROM instead of the Taiwan one. I have searched around the internet but with the Xperia ZR being a pretty uncommon and low activity device, I cannot find anything. Can somebody please guide me?

2 options:
Download Flashtool:
Download the *.FTF file with latest firmware
Place the .FTF file in the Firmwares folder of Flashtool
Open flashtool, click on the "thunder" icon and select flashmode
Select the ftf file and follow instructions on-screen
Or, and this is what I did to get the Customized US on my C5502 and it's wotking perfectly:
Change some values** of the build.prop*
Reboot your phone
Connect to your PC with either PC Companion or Sony Update Service.***
*You'll need to have root, an easy way to do this is downloading towelroot and then SuperSU, SuperUser or any other app form the playstore.
**You need to change SI Numbers on the build.prop file (located in /System/ folder); you can do this with build.prop editor or any other file explorer+Text editor (like Root Explorer)
The values you need to change to get the Customized US are:
"ro.semc.version.cust" value to 1273-9930
"ro.semc.version.cus_revision" value to R1D
***I used PC Companion and selected the "Restore/Repair phone" option to get a clean install. Loose root after that but can get it back with towelroot

Need the backup of all system apps GT-I8200

I need the help of GT-I8200 users. I rooted my phone, and to free some of ram meory i deleted some of the system app and i didn't do backup for them.
Who has backuped the system apps can upload them somewhere and give link on private or something. Please.
Better, flash your current firmware version (from sammobile.com/firmwares) via odin3 and you will get the system apps back but you will lose root access. You have to root again
or
You download your current firmware package (it's a ...HOME.tar.md5 file) and extract the system.img then rename it to system.zip and you can extract system apps in /system/app folder and move them to your phone
If something didn't work and need help, ask us

System Update 23.4.A.1.264 - how to install on rooted with locked BL, System?

Hey there,
as the title say, I'm on 23.4.A.1.232 with SuperSu root and locked BL.
Today i got the message for a new system update -> 23.4.A.1.264
When i try to load an install it, i get a message "Xperia system Update couldn't be verified".
Does someone know how i can install it, without unroot. Or can someone send me the "update" files?
Thanks in advance
Edit: i think i maybe found the file, but i don't know how to open or convert...
The file is inside the zip and is called "update_package.update_package"
If you have Dualrecovery, download ftf file by Xperiafirm, convert it to zip with PRFCreator, of course adding supersu and dual recovery in zips

yeah, i want to avoid a new system install... I want to convert that update_package to a zip
If you will make this new zip and you will not wipe data in recovery, it will update all without loosing data. It could uninstall apps which you have made as system apps and delete all mods in system partition.
Already installed .264 but i still wanna know how to get that data from the crappy update_package.update_package... :silly:
Any ideas?
