so i am on ne3 firmware for my phone. im trying to get too the next firmware but everytime i flash it says on ne3. going for nh3.
step by step this is what i have done.
1.download ne3 to nh3.
2a. rename the zip file to update.zip
2b. unzip the file and rename file update.zip
either way i do it it only ever sees it if it is zipped.
what am i doing wrong
it also gives me wrong headder and footer errors. whenit does run
also factory resets ever time i try wheather it works or not
so i unzip the cfg file change to a zip and change file type to zip rename update.zip
but i get an error tmp/sideload/pacgage
says unexpected contents
in process of reflashing stock thru oden
so i guess when i flashed an old modem it messed it up

Sry for my poor English. This is for ppl who flash RUU-AU-OPTUS rom mainly to get S-OFF, then wanna flash back the rom they were using before they patching the AlphaRevX.
Here are the simple steps:
1, get the rom.zip from another RUU*.exe, i mean the one you want.
2, unzip the rom.zip into many img files
3, delete the hbootXXXX file. and if you want keep clockworkmod, delete recovery file as well.
4, use 7-zip to add all those files into a new .zip file (no winrar, 7-zip only)
5, rename the new .zip into the PG32IMG.zip , copy into sdcard, reboot into hboot and flash.
6, remember do a factory reset, cuz the AU_OPTUS rom will leave some funny area settings and data in the phone.
edit: sry i missed, goldcard is a must!!! make your sdcard a gold card b4 doing all these. thx 007!
Hi, tried this method just now but nothing happened.
Tried flashing it like you described as PG32IMG.zip it looks like it is running the flash but no change after reboot.
Tried also with recovery (install from zip) but unfortunately doesn't work also.
Am i forgetting something in the process?
Your missing goldcard...
This is also explained in the downgrade guide in this forum
Always something missing . Thanks.
didnt you just forgot to make changes to some specific text file as well?
like erhm, removing last line of it?
like erhm...
hbootpreupdate o.0?
just a wild guess
I downloaded a zip file from sammobile.com's OTA files section. The ZIP contains the following files:
debug_info ==> 1kb (size)
delta.hidden ==> 856kb
delta.modem ==> 1kb
delta.platform ==> 84455 kb
delta.Sbl ==> 1280kb
delta.ua ==> 241 kb
delta.zImage ==> 4936kb
the ZIP file won't install using Mobile Odin, Odin, and CWM. In mobile Odin, it says that the file is not an OTA / Update ZIP file, and merely extracted the contents.
the filename of the downloaded file is GT-N7000_SMA_93970111.zip.
any idea how i can install the OTA file?
I have tried searching this forum and google, but to no avail. it appears that nobody knows how to use the ZIP file.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.
What was your purpose in downloading this OTA file anyway? A firmware zip file either contains a single file with "tar.md5" as the extension or 3 files for CSC, Modem/phone and PDA file all of which are recognized automatically by mobile odin or can be loaded on PC odin. I don't think sammobile has files for CWM. No idea about the several files that are contained on the one you downloaded. From the size of the files alone we can conclude that this is NOT firmware as normal size is 600-900 MB.
What I understand from the word OTA is Over The Air and as such can only be used either within the device itself to update or thru kies.
Good luck!
I think it is a very specific scenario to use ota.
The ota file probably need you to have previous released versions of csc installed.
Dont know much about mobile odin.
I think ota is a new feature in mobile odin. Best to check cf mobile odin thread.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
when Mobile Odin extracts the zip file you'll get a.md5 file. After the extraction just select this md5 file in Mobile Odin and you're good to go
According to the OP there is no md5 file contained on the zip file.
As per sammobile:

This section is specially for the die-hard Samsung owner.
The person who love to tweak with their device fully on their own RISK!
If you dont know what to do with these files, you probably shouldn't touch them.
Let those who knows do it insead.
Not all OTA updates are officially released to public! Samsung may use OTA firmwares as tests first.
SamMobile will not help you with all kind of OTA updates.
Using OTA updates is fully at your own risk.

AFAIK OTA updates are firmware specific.You must be on certain firmwares to flash the OTA.For exampleTA update yyy may need you to be on xxx firmware for it to work.But sadly I dont know how to flash it....
Could it be that you have to be totally stock unrooted to be able to flash it via stock recovery (3e)? If that's the case the OTA .zip must be stored in external sd. I don't think need to rename it to update.zip, because we can still flash any .zip with the right signature on 3e. Thinking of trying on my Note but it has been 'out of flashed' for close to a month!

So we just need to sign the file - any idea?

No, it's not necessary (and it's not what I meant about the whole thing).

then tell us what do you want to do? the 3e recovery wont take the file even if it is renamed or not... I've got totally unrooted and on stock.
Hey All, have google and googled for the past week but nothing specific to this issue I'm having.
I want to restore my stock firmware so I can get OTA updates! I didn't make any sort of backup when I began playing with different roms. I have htc_039 unbranded aus htc one. Bootloader has been unlocked with S-on and TWRP installed.
Downloaded Deevans/bugsys nandroid backup that matched my phone details (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41368105&postcount=375&nocache=1&z=2030115523399023) but there isn't any sort of instructions on installing these.
When i have tried to flash the rom I get "installation aborted" and when playing with fastboot it has given me messages that it cannot find certain .txt files (something like android.txt and a few other ones.
Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong or list the instructions to install this? I don't know if I have to lock the phone again, restore the recovery file first, no idea!!! Or is there anyway to turn the Android Revolution 12 image to get OTA (i dont think so)?
If you need any further phone info I will post.
Can anyone help with this?
When I try to flash the file in TWRP it starts and stops at "Updating partition Details".

Hi,
I'm new to the htc one so not sure here but from what I understand and anyone please correct me if wrong - but if it's Deevans nandroid 1.29.980.2 (Australia unbranded) it's a CWM backup and I don't think they work in TWRP.
So think you would have to flash CWM, then flash "restore" nandroid from CWM or find a TWRP nandroid.
Also think you need s-off before you do ota as no way to gain s-off with revone on updated hboot 1.54 yet.
Hope this helps.

Thank for the reply
I have tried to install this with CWM which gave me those first missing ".txt" files. I will give it another go with CMW and post the results.
I will also S-OFF before doing the above.
Phone is now S-off and put CWM as the loader. Tried the zip file again and says:
Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
I have also downloaded the file twice to confirm its not corrupted and it opens through winrar with no problems.
Any other suggestions?

I would try restore it like a backup, so unzip and put files in your CWM backup folder.
Not sure how CWM backup folder looks but in TWRP it's like /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/... or /data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/...
So I would try unzipping and copy files (boot, data, recovery, system) to /sdcard/CWM/BACKUPS/folder/put files in here - then boot to recovery and try "restore" option and browse to backup folder. You could probably copy the files to any folder on the sdcard and restore from recovery not sure.

Thanks for your suggestion and that was going to be my next question. The file I mentioned in the first post is x.xxx.xxx.zip (x as the numbers) and inside that zip is a folder with the same name x.xxx.xxx and inside that folder are all the files.
I tried putting the folder only in CMW but wont detect it, tried it with the .zip file and fails. Have now just put all the files into the folder and tried again with same failure.
There is a very long error in the recovery.txt file it made, don't know if its any use but the first line that pops out is:
Starting TWRP 2.6.0.1 on Fri Aug 2 06:23:49 2013
BOARD_HAS_NO_REAL_SDCARD
I put the file into this link if you know of anything, makes little sense to me. http://pastebin.com/Tvp2Qp2X

I have now tried both TWRP and CWM and fails, also have installed ROM manager and another one I cant recall from play store. Also booted into recovery and went to the 'restore' option from the menu but cant find any directories..
I dont know if this has anything to do with it but noticed in the contents of the file:
ARCHIVE: cache.ext4.tar
ARCHIVE: data.ext4.tar
ARCHIVE: system.ext4.tar
boot.img
cache.ext4.tar.a
data.ext4.tar.a
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
recovery.log
system.ext4.tar.a
system..ext4.tar.b
Not to get ahead of myself but HTC ONE is ext2or 3 by default, its not something simple as having to change it to ext4? Its just something that stood out.
Just done google search on CWM backup location and seems to be /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup - so you could try copy the zip and/or files there and try restore from CWM recovery and see if that works.

Interesting that there was no 'backup' folder inside that folder. Have created it and putting the files and zip in there now.
Was also googl'n and found this article:
http://miuiandroid.com/community/th...d-restore-error-while-restoring-sd-ext.15611/
Someone mentioned to now open the zip file when it downloads. I'll try your suggestions and this and let you know what happens tomorrow.
Thanks again
Morning,
Have downloaded the .zip file again twice and put it onto the SD and clockwork Mod backup folder and it has aborted again.
Any ideas on what to try from here?
Im hoping this hasn't been asked before (if so please give me a link to the thread)
Im trying to return my HTC One to stock by flashing the RUU zip file, but every time i enter the "fastboot flash zip ruu.zip" (my zip file is named ruu.zip) it says "cannot load ruu.zip". I have checked to ensure that i have downloaded the right RUU file for my CID (HTC_038).

It has been asked before, but no harm in asking again, I guess:
cannot load = MyFilenameIsWRONG.zip
if you renamed the file using Windows Explorer check for double extensions (ruu.zip.zip)
You can simply ad your CID by extracting the zip and write it into the txt file
Afterwards you repack it
Hey guys im new on the huawei procedures to flash and i need some help here, the thing is that ive changed the cust to c432 and then i've flashed android 7 via dload method (placing the folder on the sdcard and leting the device flash normally).
My problem is that i just downloaded this rom EVA-L19C432B378 FullOTA-MF-PV.zip and when i decompress the zip file i've got The update app file (wich is used to flash the rom placing that file into the dload folder) and also meta inf folder and version among other files.
My question is: how to flash the rom?, should i put the update app into the dload folder on the sdcard and flash normally (ignoring the other files in the zip? or in this case with this rom file theres a different flashing process caused by the other files included in the zip file.
Thanks by advance, I know that i should try by myself ( with error and essay) but currently i dont have enough time to mess up with my phone and I rather ask someones that already knows this.
