Found out the problem, can be locked.
So I forgot my pattern lock code but unfortunately I can't find any 'forgot your pattern?' button on lollipop.
Is there any way possible to unlock the device without formatting it?

You can't, unless you have the original google/samsung account it got locked to.
It's FRP, not FAP.
Factory Reset Protection.
There are tutorials on Youtube and XDA.
Just flash the correct firmware??, enable oem unlock, delete fingerprints and disable Samsung account
