Maybe about a week ago this "Enhanced Features" screen started showing up out of no where. Its driving me nuts by now! It comes up about every 1-2 Minutes and it interrupts anything that you are doing! Yea, I should just accept it but its so invasive that i'm gonna say NO! No screen or Pop-Up should do this! I've tried going and clearing the cache on it and even disabling it but comes back in about 2 mins....
Seriously
I'm very serious lol... I've pressed decline hundreds of time and just comes back in about 30 seconds now. Just popped up while typing this!

Man that has to be a bug. I think I just agreed to everything on first boot so I can't tell you if that's normal. It sucks and you shouldn't be expected to do this but maybe try a factory reset.
Other people are starting to have my issue. This is crazy! But I finally got root so this app will be frozen till then

Did you try to clear cache? That should fix it.
Many times. I actually made it stop by wiping data of the app through titanium

I just mistakenly duplicated your thread. Whoops. Which app is causing the message so I can try your fix? Thanks.
Same name as the header message on the phone. "enhanced features"

Arrgg...I have this issue too. Very, very stupid "feature" -_- I guess I am just going to have to root...
You can make it stop by disabling profile sharing. This is done by going into the contacts app, finding your own contact, unregistering your phone number and then you can turn off profile sharing. Once this is done the enhanced feature nag screen will never appear again.
turning off profile sharing
How do you disable profile sharing?
I try turning it off, then it just gets stuck there. I leave it on for hours waiting, never goes away, and the option is remained on.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<SOLVED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1052796.html) which indicates that a voicemail alert, prior to the media scanner completing, causes this issue.
=======================================================================
So this morning I rebooted my phone. After it loaded into the home screen (but, before it connected to the network or finished media scanning) it began beeping, loudly. I was only able to silence it by turning the phone to silent mode. This beeping continued for roughly two minutes then stopped.
At no point was there any alert or message to indicate that the system had booted up in a manner that was abnormal. After repeated tries, the device makes this noise upon boot, religiously.
What the hell is it, and how do I stop it?
Seriously? Anyone? This is obnoxious.
Maybe if you gave more info...like rom...kernel...stock...recent apps...

Well, my ROM info is in my signature and I am running the default Serendipity kernel (hardcore speedmod). There have been no recent alterations to system settings, setup, or applications. No new apps installed, or uninstalled, in the past week. And nothing is open on the device when the beeping occurs (as the phone is still starting up).
Let me take a stab...might work, might not
Do you use Google Voice?
I was having an issue last month where the phone would give the odd old G1 beeping sound as soon as it reached the homescreen after reboot. Found it was a rogue google voice email message that was trying like hell to give me a notifier, but was failing miserably. Check your web console for GV and see if you have a new message waiting to be read (or listened to), open t so it doesn't eed to notify. That stopped my crazy beeping.

I do not use Google Voice. It is, however, installed on the device. When I open it I am given a series of setup questions, so I don't imagine that it is telling me that I have a message waiting.
I originally thought that it was a message alert from some program. The problem with that is that it goes on for nearly one-hundred and twenty seconds and does not give me any visual indication of what it is attempting to alert me to.
My main concern is that it is some sort of hardware warning and that I am ignoring it out of ignorance.
Does the beeping stop when you pull down the notification bar as it would to silence an actual notification?

Can you identify which file on the phone is the actual beep sound? I'm just wondering if something is specifically calling the sound file, or if it is random. If you could identify the file and delete or rename it, it might help troubleshoot to see what your phone would do/attempt to do.

My beeping stops when i pull down the notification tray. I have been tethering for about a week without paying AT&T extra money with PDANet. Have they caught me?
This ringtone, for lack of a better word, is buried in the rom somewhere. It is called something like unresolved. Maybe reinstall kernel. this has happened to me before... I just can't remember how I fixed it.

Today this random notification popped up on my phone and i wanted to know if it was legit and not some malicious app or anything like that. A screen shot is attached.
I long pressed the notification and pressed app info and i took me to the dialer. I dont know if that is of importance.

I have never seen this extension pop-up, I would say its mostly likely spam or advert. I would download Airpush Detector from the android market and see what is says. I have included a link for you too. Hope this helps. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector&feature=nav_result
I had this about a week ago too. I haven't seen it since...

Me too. Popped up a few weeks ago. Then went away.

Can you both list the apps you have installed? I will download the same apps and try and troubleshoot for you. Thanks

Try and boot the phone in safe mode (switch the phone off, switch on normally but when the screen lights up, press and hold volume down until booted). This will prevent any 3rd party apps from starting. Then see if you get the notification still.

Hello and Happy Turkeyday to all. I have an issue with my wife's note. When she gets any notifications they turn the screen on and it doesn't turn off. I feel pretty knowledgeable about the android O.S. in a whole, I have my S5 rooted and running AICP. I just can't figure out why the notifications cause the screen to stay on. Has anyone else had this problem maybe you could help shed some light on my issue. Thanks in advance.
Is the phone rooted?

No she won't let me root her phone.
Same problem
I have the exact same problem on my Note 4 (N910F).
My phone is rooted and I have had the problem from the start.
I am also running a custom kernel now but the problem persists.
Any ideas on why this is happening anyone? I've got it to not turn the screen on for a notification but now it won't turn off when plugged in.
Turn off the lock screen notifications, or everything you can on the lock screen settings, most likely something is causing the screen to wake lock. My bet is the weather widget.

I just searched for the same problem on the Galaxy s5 and someone said to download wakelock-detector to see if it's an app.
Will keep you updated if it helps.

So a little update, so far, my problem seems to be fixed.
After the app told me that Dsploit was causing a lot of screen-on time, I disabled the app.
Haven't had it happen so far today so I hope this helps you too.

Can anyone else have other fix? I have new note 4 with rom stock and very few apps (5-8 apps)
the "Wakelock Detector-Save Battery" app requird root this not my phone so I can't root for now.
If you have very few apps installed, uninstall those apps one by one to see which one is potentially keeping the screen on. Otherwise, do a factory reset, clear cache; also ensure power button is sticky and is fully functional.

I gave you Another solution.
Has anyone else noticed a reduced ability of the voice to text capability, that it can no longer translate long phrases? I've also noticed that it often connects on the first try during a search, but quickly cancels itself, needing a second try to get it right.
That happened before the update to me it SUCKED.. TRY resetting voice cleaning cache and rebooting once or twice

Update, I was gonna do a factory reset after an update/backup, and the Turbo went through the app updating thing like when switching to ART. When I took LP, it did it, but I guess not 100%. As right now, all searches go through on the first try. I WAS thinking of re-ARTing the Turbo in the first place, but had no knowledge how to force it. If someone knows how, PLZ post!
Ok, looks like the was some kind of conflict with Better Keyboard 8's voice-to-text. A quick round trip to safe mode seems to have ironed things out for now.

Greetings all,
I have a new Note5 and overall I like it.
As you might expect I have been working feverishly to find up to date app solutions for my usage model and that will work on an unrooted device. I despise all that conspire to force this upon us! Anyway I have been testing loads of apps and somewhere along the way something has been set to vibrate to indicate something. It is happening at fairly random intervals and nothing shows on screen or in the pull down that accounts for it.
I have looked for events that are pending, past due, etc. I don't get many texts. So, it isn't that. I have even turned on airplane mode which should prevent any kind of updaes or pushes that might trigger an notice.I have checked all of the apps I am using and none are set to vibrate only. From the initial turn on of this phone I have run package disabler pro for Samsung. Using a basic list from this xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/guide-bloating-touchwizzing-note-5-t3184563. I have restarted the phone several times as well
Can anyone suggest some kind of system monitor/logging app that I can load that will allow me to find out which application is triggering this? Is there some other way I can find out what is triggering this event? I expect that a logging app will eat battery more but on a temp basis that would be ok.
Thanks all and here's to someone finding a way for us to root our notes without messing up our warranty and secure payment...
p
If you are talking about how it vibrates when you first pick it up for seemingly no reason, then that's a feature. It's to let you know you have notifications. It's called smart alert, you can disable it in the gestures menu.
vibrate (and sound) for 'no reason'
Thanks _MetalHead_
But no. This happens when it is sitting undisturbed. I will check and turn off that feature if it isnt already so it isnt adding to the confusion.
If I didnt say, I find no idication of active alarms or notifications.
P
Do you have any Bluetooth devices connected? I had a smart watch with my S5. Every time it connected or disconnected, the phone would vibrate. This was especially annoying when I left the watch in the bedroom while sitting in the living room with my phone. Every few minutes it would connect/disconnect and the phone would vibrate.

Not clear if this is contributing. Will turn BT off to be certain.
Actually, I think I can say for certain no. This has happened in airplane mode.
That is why I am looking for a system logging application or some equivalent method.

Yeah, I re-read your OP, and noticed you said it was happening in airplane mode.
The S-Pen suggestion above seems worth pursuing.
Good luck!
I have the same problem. It would just randomly vibrate. I think is something to do with Google notifications.
