[Q] re-post: gt-s5830 stuck at bootloop - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am reposting here because I posted in the wrong section. If any action is required by me to have a better troubleshooting, ask please!
Hi, after one year using CM7, I decided to go back to stock rom on my galaxy ace. After flashing with odin, I keep getting stuck on a bootloop. I tried wiping cache and doing a factory reset but the problem persists. I tried unbranded stock as well as wind and vodafone, but the phone keep bootlooping. I also tried again with CM7 but the phone doesn't boot again. Please help, I believe the phone is ok but I don't know how to get out from this situation. I read several forums and all of them suggest to factory reset it, but this procedure seems to not be effective on my phone. How can I solve it?

I'd like to provide more detail in order to give a more complete description but I'm not able to know which error messages are given by the phone...I just see the samsung logo. I'm quite a newbie but I have a lot of experience with computers and electronic devices, so if anyone can point me the way, I can easily learn how to do...

thank you for answering. anyway I already did these steps for the whole last weekend. I tried no-brand stock rom, branded (wind) and various versions of android (2.3.3, 2.3.6, ...) of course I have countlessly factory reset the phone but the result is always the same: samsung logo loading and reloading till the end of humanity.....
any other option?

I forgot to mention that I've followed this guide: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-in...mware-on-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-using-odin/
I found many smilar others on the web but the procedure is the same. Download .tar.md5 from sammobile and then flash with odin 4.38 using cooper_v1.0.ops
....but the phone keeps bootlooping.....

......time for my phone to be launched into the trash bin?

Hi, if you can access in recovery mode, do a wipe cache/dalvik cache/factory reset;
flash another ROM for S5830 model, for example S5 reincarnation;
later flash with odin the stock rom,
wipe cache and do a factory reset again;

Hi, i have the exact same problem with my coworkers Ace gt-s5839i !
His Ace crashed in normal use and was stuck in a bootloop after the crash.
I looked up the internet and tried the factory reset/wipe without success.
Then i tried flashing several firmwares for the 5839i and even 5830i fw´s with odin v1.87 and 3.10 (took me 2 days to figure out that you need to split the fw files with odinatrix for flashing... ).
But still everytime it either freezes in a black screen after the samsung loading screen (after the model logo followed by the branding/animated Samsung logo) or shuts off and starts over the bootloop.
Is there a chance that this error is hardware-sided ? I wiped everything countless times but it doesnt change anything. What else could i try ?
I would love to get some suggestions that could do the trick !
Sorry for hijacking this thread but it fits perfect to my problem

Hello
Well Actually if u can clear the EFS of your phone and the eMMc, it would work normally.
#Flash a Custom Recovery using Odin
#CWM much better. Go to Advanced and clear the efs and emmc there.
#Normally flash the Stock Rom using Odin or Heimdall

the version of CWM you have flashed for your cooper doesnt seem to clear the Emmc and Efs etc.
If your device doesnt boot up to Download Mode then Force boot it using Heimdall Rescutor and flash the stock rom using the same tool or Odin.
In odin tick the option of NAND ERASE ALL.
Still doesnt work give me a ring on +918715031141

3-then after 2 seconds, the phone automatically shut itself OFF
4- and then the phone automatically turns ON again. We are looping back to 1- without end.
What can I do to fix this problem?
I have important Memo notes and sms I don't want to loose !!
For information, I have this phone since April. On May, I have rooted the phone using Super One Click. Since then the phone was working perfectly. I never flashed a ROM on the device. The problem happened just after a normal usage of the phone.
I really need your help..
Chris
Not sure why this would happen on stock rom with normal usage I've only encountered this problem after flashing other roms, I used nvflash but if you go down that route you will lose everything. Tried battery out and sim for a few minutes?

It was a stock ROM with normal usage. To be precise the problem arise, just after I selected the autorun option of the application Total Recall.
I have tried battery, sim, sd-card out, no success, the phone did not boot normally (not even once). As I can see nvflash is not an option as it is erasing everything.

Sorry, I didn't see your reply.
Kdz is only LG's firmware format.
All LG's phones can be flashed with kdz file by kdz tool (aka kdz updater).
Refer to this.
And Kdz tool at here.
and you have to need some kdz file for your p990.
(I have not but someone has it.)
In my case(su660) the type is "CDMA" and phonemode is "CS_EMERGENCY".
Request someone's advices more for p990.

Boot into recovery (holding Volume down and Power button) and factory reset, had the same problem yesterday when flashing CM7. Running fine now
I have looked at Smartflash, it is for flashing the Baseband (not the ROM itself), that means the software that has the GSM driver WiFi driver.
I don't see how Smartflash could help retrieving my phone with the important memos and sms.
Given that my phone is not booting, what can I do to retrieve the important memos and sms?
No, Smartflash will install stock ROMs in a .bin format as well.
Can you boot to recovery? (hold power and vol-)

As I have the stock recovery (the standard one that you get when buying the device), what will happen when I boot to recovery ? (does it do full erase of data?)
Four months ago I have rooted the phone using Super One Click. But I did not changed anything else: the recovery and the ROM are still the stock ones.
Yeah to the best of my knowledge, if you try and boot to the stock recovery, you will just get an automatic factory reset.

[Q] [I9001] SGS+ bricked/broken

Hey guys,
I own a SGS+ and tried to flash a ROM a few month ago.
Not sure which one it was in particular but it was a 4.1.2 ROM.
Normally it worked pretty well but that time it broke my phone apparently.
So now a few month later I tried to get it to work again.
My phone stucks at the splashscreen, easy said.
It boots till the splash screen and then it's on for about 3-4 minutes I guess and then the screen turns off.
But apparently it still runs because if I try to start it again over the power button it doesn't work.
I have to remove the battery, insert it again and then I can use the power button.
I tried several things and I'm out of information here.
So maybe one of you guys can help me out here?
Thanks for reading!
Try wiping cache an dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't help do a full wipe and install a new rom. If it still doesn't work, flash a stock rom via odin. Also, which recovery are you using?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
Already did everything you mentioned, multiple times.
Well I used at first CWM 6.0.1.2 then switched to 6.0.2.8, then 6.0.3.2, then 6.0.3.6 and then TWRP 2.4.0.0 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
I tried those who should be for the bricked phones.
Try to flash a new kernel, then flash a new ROM. You should be able to get into download mode...

That's not the problem.
I can get into download mode, I could get into download mode all the time.
I don't think you got my problem right:
My phone stucks at the splash screen.
Doesn't turn off only screen turns off but the phone is still running.
I can only reboot if I take the battery out.
So it boots up to the splashscreen and stucks.
I flashed a few new roms and nothing worked.
If you can get into download mode, try flahing a stock rom via odin.

Download BroodRom(Not ics or jb just the old GB edition) it's a lifesaver.
1.Go to recovery.
2.Format EVERYTHING(data, cache, dalvik AND system.)
3.Download mode
4.Flash broodrom with Odin.
That should work!

Maybe you didn't flash appropriate ROM for your device. Read this thread, especially the first post by our forum mate xsensman and try to check if it could be concerning also your device:

Flashing was okay, everything was fine.
Unfortunately the phone still stucks in splashscreen.

Mate, something is strange there. With splashscreen you mean bootloop, right? So you see the logo, but the phone doesn't really loads the Android?
OK, here we go: please remove the battery and write down your serial No and google a bit is it really i9001? There are about 20 different types of SGS so just to make sure which model do you have.
That bootloop can happen for several reasons, but I would assume that in your case it happens either for:
bootloader isn't working properly
you haven't flashed the proper ROM for your device.
I suspect very strongly the bootloader, so re-flashing the bootloader via Odin, theoretically, should revive your phone. Just check (as written above) do you REALLY have i9001, (as otherwise -if not- you could brick it with the bootloader for i9001):
First post, "5. Follow the instruction" (all files there)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32144697
I'm 100% sure that I have a real i9001, not a special edition or something like that.
And I flashed before it got broken a few month and the roms worked just fine.
Well but then it broke somehow.
I just see that my phone with the CWM-Recovery can't format /data and hangs.
Can't do anything unless I remove the battery and boot up again.
Could this be a hint for you guys?

I have no idea what may that be, but are you sure your phone is bricked?
Have you tried to use normal TWRP 2.6 instead of that one for bricked phones?
I don't know, but maybe this helps:

@tetakpatak: Yes, I did it like the post "suggested".
@3L4CK_5C0RP10N: No, I'm actually not sure, that's why I wrote "bricked/broken".
I'm not the best guy at those things as you can guess.
No, I didn't tried the normal one, gonna try it now, atleast it's worth trying.
I read the post you linked me here and tried those things, unfortunately nothing happened.
Even tried it with ADB, also no solution found there.
But thanks already for the work guys!
suggest you try the following:-
1) power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and entering CWM recovery
2) In CWM recovery, enter Mounts and Storage and Format every partition, that can be formatted, repeat it twice ( You will lose all your data ) meaning you will be trying to get a clean environment for a fresh start. Do not reboot but pull out battery, press power for a few seconds and insert battery.
If you need your data, in mounts and storage, enter usb storage, here with usb connected to PC you can copy your entiere internal SDcard to PC, for salvage later.
3) get into Download mode, to flash the oldest i9000 Stock ROM 2.3.3 with AriesVe.ops using Odin 4.43 ( with ops ticked) How to flash follow this

Messed up 3 button recovery/download and CWM
Hi I received a Samsung Captivate as a backup option oh 4 months back or so. I use an sgh-i717 and have absolutely zero experience with the captivate. The other day though my Note starting having charging issues so I decided I better set up the Captivate in case the need actually comes for it. Well it already had CWM Recovery and a custom rom, I believe Continuum. Well I wanted to change the ROM but the information I was reading wasn't working and in my frustration I must've messed something up, but I do have step by step log that I wrote during whole process. I've already been reading a bit here but hoping someone can help speed me to info I need since I'm so utterly clueless to this phone.
Ok my current state is this. When booting the phone it displays AT&T screen then a screen that has the word Talon on it and there it remains. The USB apparently stopped working right before it was given to me although unsure to cause. Now the Download/Recovery 3 button combo did work but somehow I broke that and so now I cant really do anything without some help.
Ok here is log of what I did.
1. Boot into CWM
2. wipe data/factory reset
3. Cache wipe
4. Format SD Card
5. Format Cache
6. Format Data
7. Format System
8. Wipe Dalvik Cache
9. Power Off

Well basically you erased everything on your phone without flashing another ROM, hence why it won't fully boot up.
If your usb port isn't working, you'll have to use an external sd and put a ROM + kernel on it (that are 2.2). I suggest Firefly and Speedmod. From there, you'll have to boot in recovery and flash both (ROM first).
Without a working usb, you can't use Odin to flash the stock image on your phone so hope that you can get in recovery!

[Q] Only Download Mode

About Month ago, I installed Kitkat Mod, working normally, (some little bugs. e.g Phone name I9070 replaced I9070P - My phone is I9070)

It began to boot up by flashing the normal samsung galaxy s advance screen, but it continually flashes over and over and wont start. I tried everithig - custom rom, stock rom (may be same), f**king room, everithing tried many times, but it continually flashes sumsung logo again... and it goes only download mode... (using Vol down+Home+Power) Vol Up+Home+Power not working to go in recovery mode... also wont work "vol up+down and plug in" (i searched and founded it in google). this is my problem... please help me anybody... what can I do?

If you can enter ONLY in download mode, that is the single solution, before Service Center.

I had this problem too when i installed first time cm 11.But i used ODIN to go back.Sometimes, for me phone dont boot first time after i restored stock jb with ODIN (but i was able to go in recovery),and i restored again and it booted.Btw,if dont boot first time, but recovery is working, then go in recovery and flash something,as i think you dont want stock jb.Dont go to Service Center yet.Be calm and follow guide to flash stock jb with ODIN.

Write filename of that firmware that you use. Whole filename, like I9070XXLQB_I9070OXXLQB_HOME.tar.md5

I went from XXLQ4 to this that I use now. You will not have a problem by using this version.
http://d-h.st/36o
Download and try with it. So your volume up key is fine? When you get in download mode you hit it to enter in it?
And after installation in Odin - it goes to recovery to finish installation? Do you see that Android with open stomach?
Similar to this, maybe it is on the other side...

If he still cant boot / go in recovery with firmware which you gave him, is possible to extract stock jb (.tar),put cocore kernel (version with recovery) then make it .tar again and flash in odin? I think will work and he will be able to go in recovery.

Yes, but it will increase binary counter. If he has warranty. Sounds like there is something wrong with kernel partition... Installation does not go to recovery after finishing steps in Download mode.

I found some previous version of CoCore for JB (can't remember version) I made before. @nutuprofe can try with it. But again, if it fails - he can't reset binary counter if he can't boot...

my odin version is 3.07... but when i was at work, in my work pc i had 1.3 & 1.7 versions and i tried here too and no result... odin isnt problem...
@shut_down - i never give my phone to Service Center, as i think i can solve it and if i cant, service center cant too because i know our service center opportunity (may be it right word )

Samsung Note 8 N950F Boot Loop after latest update

Hey
After the latest update, every time I called with the Note 8, it would restart and every time I would switch it off, it would start back on. So the first thing I did was boot to recovery mode and wipe cache partition. When I restarted the phone, I would get a "No command" error and it would always boot to the recovery mode. Next, I tried flashing the latest firmware (I made sure to use the right carrier, VDH) from SamMobile using Odin which still didn't work. Then I tried NAND erase and re-partition and this didn't work either.
I am very new to this so any solutions would be greatly appreciated

When you tried to flash stock with Odin did it pass? Fail? Did it give an error code? Did you download the latest filmware? As you can't flash older filmware than what is already on the phone.

I was hoping that it was an issue with Odin so I could possibly help you, even having a look on the internet doesn't being much help other than trying a factory reset. I've been on xda for years and never seen this issue before. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will see your post, I suggest bumping your thread every 24 hrs.
Having tried flashing stock with Odin which usually resolves most bugs I would guess that it is a hardware issue and if you're able to, take it to a service centre.
If you do find a solution please post it here on XDA for anyone who searches this in the future

Looks like the partition in your internal SSD has been corrupted and needs to be reformatted. If that doesn't work then you need to have the motherboard on your device replaced.
