He just put 1.1 couple hours ago but it isn't the full update it is kind of a pre release for those just waiting lol. He has couple things left to do so probably by this weekend.
U will find 1.1 on page 51 if I remember correctly. If not i just reposted it at the end of the thread replying to someone.

Do you know the term "Your Mileage may vary?"
It applies to flashing anything...only you can determine how battery life affects you and how YOU use your phone..an errant app can screw your phone up as far as battery life and speed, as can a bad flash (dirty vs clean)...so....it is dependent on signal, use, apps, syncs, phone imperfections, and many other factors. Just read through the development threads and you will see many users report many different experiences...if there was a firm formula then every device would have a BEST ROM...which they don't and just for this reason.
Best bet is wipe the phone, clean flash your choice, try it for a couple of days to let it settle, then start adding back apps you use all the time.
Happy flashing!

Might try 1.1

[Q] Which is the best rom for...?

Well First off I gotta say some of the things here are pretty damn super.
But the thing I find is most of these roms take up too much battery all too quickly, even when i barely use my phone.
So which rom should i try and stick in order to maximise my battery life?
Quick response would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Well, the question is what you really want to have in your ROM and what is obsolete for you. Eye-candy needs power....
Switch of all automatic Facebook, email, weather, stock, twitter etc. updates, switch off 3G, dim the light and use wifi only when necessary - this will increase your battery life significantly.
And you might try the link in my signature as well.
I'm not an expert but according to my experience for cooked ROMs,
- Xara & Vision and (this ROM is similar to Jeperlea's) is very good bettery drainage but the HTC Calculator annoy me very much. Anyway, -Jeperlea has been back to continue his ROM, but I really feel boring of his ROM's inconsistence
- Russell Eclair's, his ROM is also very impressive for me, unfortunately his Final ROM has some trouble in the first usage. Over all, like it.
- SGXU XPERIA UNOFF, like this ROM too, unfortunately some program isn't working properly.
- 826X-peria, some version is great in battery drainage and performance but some isn't. This ROM is also stopped due to stolen willyung's gadget.
The worst; Energy ROM, I dunno know why people flash this **** to their phone because it's the worst ROM I've ever used. Good interface (Kinda boring), but really poor performance, u can't use this for daily used.
Sorry to the OP for slightly drifting off topic.

Well, maybe because not everybody acts according to your standards.
I won't go through all the "fantastic" ROMs you listed above just to verify whether Energy ROMs are that bad or not. It's just strange that you kind of recommend ROMs which obviously have problems running at all and contain annoying software.
><(((ยบ>
I am happy with Energy, it is way more performant than others I tried before - and it just works out of the box.

LG Optimus 4X Rom Performance

I wanted to make a thread where users will post their benchmark result screenshots of their custom or original roms, because we have a lot of rom's for our device an everyone is bragging how their rom is faster, better for gaming, better for this and that, so let's go post your benchmark results screenshots... In post make a not about details, like CPU frequency governers ETC, and of course what rom you used... Let's start competition
Maybe admins will make this a sticky thread...

I wrote this because many screenshots are made without posting which rom they use, which kernel and other stuff like cpu frequency, governors etc... Everybody are just posting benchmark screenshots without saying on what were those screenshots were made...
I want to start a really good competition on which rom is really fastest...

Benchmarks mean nothing at all. If a ROM feels fast when you use it then it is fast.. I've seen ROMs with a great benchmark but they feel slow because they are slow to respond to user interaction.
And trying to run a competition to see which is fastest, best etc does a massive disservice to ALL developers.

Confirmed!
There is a tendency to laziness, lately, because of which, new users, instead of reading threads and trying to understand what they are about, make up shortcuts to figure out "which xxx is the best". Change xxx with"rom", "kernel", "build" or whatever crosses your mind.
This behaviour does not bring any help to anybody: not to the noobs, who will not really understand WHY an xxx is better than others, nor for the developers, who will not have any real feedback from their work (at the very end, if xxx scores better than yyy, then yyy will be perceived as "better", "more up to date", something else?).
In my opinion this should be considered as a disguised attempt of making a "best rom" thread, and should be closed by mods.

I have observed that on installing a nightly build, the performance is generally good for first 10-12 hours and then the responsiveness starts degrading.
A restart helps.
So, the question is when should you run the benchmarks?

You shouldn't. Benchmarks mean nothing. If you are perceiving a slow-down after 10-12 hours then you should try to diagnose the cause of that - does a reboot fix it? Do you need to do a cache or dalvik wipe? Can you get away with just killing all open apps.
Stop worrying about benchmarks, and worry more about how YOUR phone feels to YOU.

Inviato dal mio GT-P3110 usando XDA Premium HD app
I tested a bunch of roms, Slim,Vanir, Pac,AICP, Beanstalk, Mokee, Avatar, Omni...Some 4.3 Some 4.4
All I can say that I really liked most 4.3 roms, but their battery performance was weird-lacking.
I dont really like KitKat 4.4 that much but apart from the early CM11 releases, most 4.4 ones are battery friendly. I get decent battery life.
I had one day at 8 hours, 2 to 1:30 hours screen on time, and in the end of the day I had 20-30% left. Thats ok for me.My battery is nearly 1 year old now, so they fared good.
That said. I think that KitKat in general does a better job at memory handling aswell, I get always 500MB free memory in most 4.4 roms.
IN 4.3 roms, that wasnt always the case.
Whatever the case, my conclusion is that newer roms, that have been ported recently, fare better because they are based on latest CM builds. Earlier roms, which were just ported to our device...well...it depends.
My testing was so that I tried each of these roms for 1 day. Maybe thats not enough, so dont go around bashing me for inaccuracy. Best way to test things is to try them out yourself. I never tried any benchmarks on these roms because I dont care about benchmarks.I usually set animations to off or 0.5 on each of these roms. I dont play games on my phone aswell.
Personally, my recommendation is to try out 4.4 roms firstly, then try out earlier roms.
I currently use a CM nightly.
Keep in mind however that I do NOT use google play or any gapps. So most if not all ROM experience has been smooth, with the exception of 1 Rom.
I can name it, but that would not be fair, but I think that one came together with Gapps.
So my other advice is that gapps are huge memory hogs and battery eaters.

Currently im using CM11 Latest nightly (18 Jan 14) + iodiak kernel 9.5.
Aside the double push the power button to wake up the phone from deep sleep, it works flawless for me.

[Q] Back to stock?

I want to go back to the newest US stock ROM. Since updating to GM 1.6, my watch has been missing several app icons, like Notifications. Side-loaded apps no longer show up, even after deleting wapplist.xml.
I just don't find the minor advantages of a custom ROM to be worth the disadvantages.
I'd like to keep TWRP, though.
What's the best way to go back to stock from null21?
Just flash with odin
i experienced those glitches with Null and the new GGManager. I lost my patience and went back to stock (newest firmware tho NA6)

Odin? Ok thanks - that's what I wasn't sure of.
The way I see it stock rom is built for great batterylife if you push the watch to do anything harder that poor battery just can't keep up. things would have been different had it a higher capacity battery would cope with oc etc.

question go into the q&a section, not into general.
and besides that point, theres no such thing as best rom, not on a nexus anyways. all our roms have access to source, so there's no hacking needed to get it running, unlike for other phones. besides the fact that battery life and performance isnt up to roms. battery life all depends on your use and the quality of your network data/phone signal. and performance would be attributed to how you set up your cpu. as there are many differing ideas how to set up your cpu, that would be all depending on you.
edit.. i asked a mod to move the thread into q&a. go one with the thread normally now
There is no best ROM. Look what's out there and determine that what is the "best" ROM for you based on developer to user feedback, amount of updates, amount of features, stability, user feedback, etc.
"Best" ROM.
There is no such thing as a best ROM. The question itself is ambiguous. "Best" is obviously a subjective term.
What I want from a ROM may well differ from what you want from a ROM, ergo - what is best for me could be worst for you.
If you are asking what the most popular ROMs are, or which ROMs people are using, you can see which threads stay around on the first few pages (and have the most posts) in the Android Development or Original Android Development forums. You can also see what other people are running by reading the What are YOU running on your Nexus 6??? thread.
If you are asking which is the most stable, being a Nexus device - they're all pretty stable.
If you are asking which is best on Battery, ROMs only affect battery if they have a feature that is badly coded. You will likely be able to read about this in the ROM threads. ROMs do not impact battery life. The only impact to battery life are your apps, your settings, how you use the phone and mostly, environmental issues such as Phone Signal.
For tips about improving battery life, please read [Battery Life Help] Troubleshoot battery issues here!
"Best" Kernel
There is no such thing as the "Best" kernel. What we all want from a kernel is different. Again, many people have the misconception that Kernels affect battery life. Let's get this cleared up. Although Kernel devs will build in optimisations and efficiencies that will improve battery life, these are very, VERY tiny...and if 1 kernel has these optimisations, they likely all have.
People will often say "Kernel x is better than kernel y for battery life". This is actually wrong. Kernels respond to user settings. Setting up the governor to favour either battery life or performance is simple enough to do, you just have to do some learning. The reason people think Kernel x is better than y is because developers set their kernels up with their preferred governor settings. This is what we refer to as out-of-the-box settings. The out-of-the-box settings for kernel x may well produce better battery results than the out-of-the-box settings for kernel y, which favour performance. The fact is, you as the user have the ability to tune kernel x or y to perform the same, be that battery or performance - so start learning how to do this yourselves - that way, you can choose the kernel based on the FEATURES you want, and not the fictional performance benefits of one kernel over another.
Hope this helps

I know there isnt a "best" rom. Guess I should have worded it differently lol. Thank you for all that insight though. Ive rooted and run custom roms before and loved it. Just out of the loop a bit.
I run stock ROM, rooted and encrypted. I use Franco Kernel because it has the features I want, and he's written an excellent companion app to keep the kernel up to date, as well as let you easily adjust kernel settings. Good stuff.
When a stable CM12 is out for N6, I'll probably switch to that. Running CM12 nightlies on my N7 LTE with good success, but I need the "guaranteed" stability of a milestone release for my phone.

Agreed.. a stable build is generally one with more fixes put into it vs checked in features.
The only stable rom is whatever google puts out because they have the resources to actually do QA and testing.
More than the CM maintenance person for our device can do anyways.

Absolutely agree! (thus having "guaranteed" in quotes) But with a "stable" release, you're less likely to encounter a show-stopper in my experience.
For instance, the other day, I put the latest nightly on my N7, and it killed it. It would boot okay, but System UI would crash constantly. Accept the error message, and crash again. I turned it off at that point, and flashed the next nightly the day after. Problem solved.
Now, the last nightly I successfully installed broke recovery, and the new nightlies won't flash. I haven't bothered fixing that yet because the nightly on it right now is generally playing nice with everything.
My N6 is personal, but I use it a lot for work. I need to know that it's going to work every time I grab it. I just can't be sure of that with a nightly.

thats one reason i dirty flash all the time(not cm, but an aosp rom). if an update is no good, things crash and such, i just reflaah the older version(right in top, and it boots up fine again. no wiping anything. also, and most importantly, make a backup in recovery. that way if an update is no good, all you have to do is restore that backup, and all will be like before you flashed it. i used to be a cm fanboy, from day one to about 3-4 years ago. and i know cm really well. many times a nightly could be much more stable then a milestone

Recommend me a ROM

Hello XDA
I know there is no such thing as the best ROM but I was hoping to do a little cheating and save my self some reading and get some opinions on what would fit me the best.
I use my phone as a business phone and thus my battery is dying constantly. I got ALOT of SMS and my phone is constantly slowing down. I want something that won't seem like a old device.
I want to root to install a new ROM and battery tweaks. Here are my requirements:
MUST be stable
Smooth
Good battery life
I want something I don't have to constantly tweak. With my note 4 I essentially changed so much that at the end it became such a nuisance trying to keep modding etc. I want to set this up and forget about it, unless needed.
Thanks !
Use Paranoid Android 7.2.1
Vertex OS

I understand where you are coming from, but from a practical point of view, if someone recommended a ROM, you may find your experience different from theirs. Happens all the time. Second, it's a good idea to read first. I just got this phone. All I have done is read threads here at xda. Not even so much ROMs, but reading about the phone. This step alone has saved me from myself in the past. Makes it easier to troubleshoot problems.

Perhaps only something purely based on oxygen os, but more debloated, like freedomOS

Smooth, stable and substratum suppprt
I guess stock is the best choice here for you. It has no additional battery hungry features like viper but is still stable. You may consider flashing a kernel instead and I would hardly recommend you to read into them since that's the best way to get to know to new kernels.

Thanks !

I would say oos..if u want a flawless stock experience with better battery life, use freedom os..
I personally use oos open beta 12( rooted with magisk) with elemental x kernel..it gives me good battery and flawless performance..apps like substratum and viper 4 arise works fine..
Thanks for all the replies. I tried out RR and had an issue with the WiFi dropping - since this was a business phone I decided not to flash a custom ROM. I am now on OOS open beta, the latest one. Loving the parallel apps feature!
Now to get into theming and modding. I've got the basics down already like greenify, BBS.
Any recommendations on rooted apps? What have I missed in the last year or so
