Will downgrading radio brick XT1053? - Moto X Q&A

So I want to know if I am able to downgrade my radio. I heard that downgrading firmware itself WILL cause a brick but how about just flashing the radio? Ever since I would mess with stocks, when I updated to 4.4.4 radio updated and now I am no longer to roam (connect to movistar network at least) I used to have a sim for movistar (mexico) which worked perfectly fine at 4.2 but when I did the upgrade it started to slowly fail to a complete stop. It was funny because a movistar sim would roam to t-mobile or sometimes even at&t. Now that I moved to the united states I got tmobile since it offers free roaming in Mexico, but bad news, t-mobile roams to movistar and now I am unable to roam. Its like movistar doesn't want my phone at all.
So back to my question, will downgrading radio cause a brick?

downgrading just the radio usually doesn't cause a brick. It might prevent proper upgrade when the lollipop OTA comes out (preflash validation in the OTA update might fail due to wrong radio).
I do not know that this will fix your problem for sure.

Will flashing Radio undo my flash to Verizon?

Has anyone that has flashed a Sprint HTC One to a different network upgraded their radio firmware? Does it revert it back to the Sprint network?
Have you flashed you Sprint phone with Verizon radio firmware?
My PRL stayed as Verizon after I upgraded firmware so force roam is still in effect.

Rooted Sprint HTC One

Hi guys. As you know the OTA for the KitKat version of the One is starting to roll out. Problem is, i bought this Sprint One in the Philippines and currently running a local sim card which works for me. Now i only get GSM when i enable mobile data. I've read several threads about it and its just the way it is i guess. Is this sim unlocked already?
This is rooted and the software version says 'benny's 4.3'. Baseband version is 1.00.20.0913_3. Will i be able to update this OTA or should i wait for someone to make a modded version of KitKat specifically on the Sprint One to be able to use my GSM SIM? Most likely the OTA will be a CDMA version though. Thanks.

[Q] Need to be activated with a carrier to get OTA updates?

I have the Pure Edition with a T-Mobile SIM card, however, I have not yet activated it with T-Mobile.
Will OTA updates work while I am connected to Wifi? It keeps telling me that I am up-to-date, so it seems like It is checking. However, it has never told me there is an update available while I was on KitKat. I had to manually upgrade to Lollipop (22.11.6)
Thanks.

Sprint M8: Can it talk to ATT if unlocked? Loading an earlier RUU?

I have a Sprint M8 that I unlocked - it no longer complains that an ATT sim card is the wrong network. However, it doesn't seem to match the LTE bands for ATT so I can't get LTE. Well, sprint uses band 25 and ATT band 2.
But isn't the hardware capable of both and the software used to select? Are the phones actual physically different? I've fiddled with *#*#4636#*#* menu and not gotten anywhere.
Can I flash an ATT radio; would that change the available bands? Or have I reached the end of the road playing with this particular device?
---------------------------
Yet another question. As far as I can tell, you can't roll back to a previous version with an MUU. I'm at 4.25.651.14. I want to try ATT RUU (4.28.502.1) and / or developer RUU (4.16.1540.8) but is it possible to RUU a lower number, such as going to the developer or back to Sprint after the ATT one? When I just try to run the RUU it won't install the lower one; can someone link me to the obvious post I missed on how to downgrade?
----------------------------
And can I install Cyanogen 4.4.4 on top of the firmware that came in thr 5.0.1 RUU? Let me rephrase that - should I be able to? I've tried and bootlooped. If it shouldn't work I'll give up. If it should, I'll keep beating on the poor thing.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Question Solved: Changing CSC from Spectrum (CHA) to T-mobile (TMB)

Hello, is it possible to change the Spectrum firmware (CHA) on my S23 SM-911U to T-mobile (TMB)? I have unlocked the phone with Spectrum but if I use with T-mobile SIM, then I don't think I'll get the OTA updates through T-mobile? On a recent unlocked AT&T Fold 3, it seemed to convert automatically from AT&T to T-mobile when I put in the T-mobile SIM...
Edit: maybe I found the answer with a little research. Use patched odin here and then latest T-mobile firmware here S911USQU1AWC8? My current firmware version is S911USQS1AWBL. Anyone have experience/tips?
Solved: I tried to flashing the multi-csc firmware with Odin hoping the t-mobile SIM would stick and force the change but the software version/branding kept coming back to spectrum no matter what. Ultimately what worked was changing the CSC with SamFW Tool by putting phone into Developer mode and enabling USB debugging and then connecting and changing CSC under ADB menu in SamFW Tool and then factory resetting the phone. Probably would've worked with no flashing needed!
You have to flash the unlocked software first (U1) then the TMB version. personally I'd keep it on the unlocked.

Ok good to know, thanks. Would it get OTA updates on the unlocked?

To my knowledge I think it gets OTA updates faster. (U1)
U1 doesn't get updates faster. In the US it generally gets updated randomly. Could be first, could be last, could be halfway through the 3 major carriers.
You will, however, get OTA updates from whichever version you flash.

That's what I thought, which is why I wanted to flash TMB especially since I was thinking about giving it to a relative later.
Well this is bizarre or is it. Don't have too much experience with this stuff. I got the software update and now the spectrum (CHA) firmware version matches the T-mobile (TMB) which is S911USQU1AWC8 but when I stick my T-mobile SIM in, the bootup logo and branding doesn't change to T-mobile and is still all Spectrum. Tried a reset with the T-mobile SIM still in and it still doesn't change. Is there a way to force this change?
You need to flash the unlocked U1 firmware FIRST, then flash the T-Mobile version.
