For those of you like myself that took the new update, but may have had second thoughts about wanting to root, I just confirmed that you can flash back via Odin.
I did confirm while I was running the new OE2 update that I was not able to obtain root.

downgrade kernel and try root
It doesn't block root, it's a new kernel, pingpong dev will need the new kernel to make the root work with it, just they need the kernel for every version that they support.

You need to extract it from
AP_G920AUCU1AOCE_CL4351102_QB4488924_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
and package it up as a tar.md5 so you can use it in odin.
Or just wait for pingpong to update, I gave them the updated kernel and stuffs.

Check out this page for help with downgrading back to NCE: link
Or, simply try pingpong root after downgrading kernel using NCE's recovery.img, available as Odin flashable, here: link
The beta 6 version of PingPong root will root the new OE2 update. I rolled back to OCE this morning, applied the update and then noticed beta 6 and was successful with rooting.

Hard to judge since it is new. Screen on time is 5 Hours 50 minutes where before I was getting about 4 Hours 10 Minutes. I removed bloat of course so it was snappy as it was when rooted before. Free memory fluctuates from 900Mb to 200Mb but that was happening with rooted OCE. The main improvement seems to be SOT.

No, You will loose root by any method you choose to update to lollipop best to wait and see if root is even possible before updating. otherwise you may find yourself in the position of no root and no way to downgrade to 4.4.x

That's what I figured. I will just keep waiting to see if root is achieved/can be maintained.
I am uploading to my mediafire for a second dl location for those who are interested. If you want to keep root do not flash this file until a flashable version is available. If you want to flash this version do a backup with Kies so you can restore everything after you update. I did this many times before I rooted this device, it works.

There is update floating somewhere 4.4.2 to 4.4.4. Read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...to-root-g900aucu2aoa1-4-4-4-2-3-2015-t3021120
Just Quote from post i post link to :
"1. Should the OA1 ota update fail consider returning to factory stock NCE (all User Data will be lost) by flashing the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar using Odin's PDA slot(AP in Odin v3.09+) then taking the OTA updates to OA1. Or, place the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip and G900A_NG3_tA1_OTA.zip onto your ext-sdcard and sideload from stock recovery starting with the G900A_NCE_to_NG3_OTA.zip. Once updated to OA1 "
Do this. Links to download are provided at page i post link

Nothing so far
It has been confirmed that updating to OF1 includes the downgrade protection we've seen in the T-Mobile builds on 5.1.1... You won't be able to root directly on this build, either, since the exploit was patched by this ROMs build date. I will make a package that will allow users on OE2 to to update to OF1 while maintaining root. If you are on OC3 still you can upgrade to OE2 using my tutorial in Android Development.
Can someone who updated to OF1 successfully please try downgrading back to OC3 using the ODIN image provided within this General Thread? Since no one else has released a OF1 ROM/ODIN package I was going to do it myself, but along the way I noticed a change within this update package-- it now includes a magic string header at the very end of the update process, just like the Lollipop 5.1.1 ROMS for other devices that now incorporate protections against downgrading. I'd rather not bone myself/everyone else out of future development if this mechanism is in fact in place.
Thanks in advance! As soon as I have a confirmation it is still downgradable, I will finish this package.
Odin will not downgrade after OF1. I've tried 5 times using 2 different PCs and Odin failed every time.

Had a few "?'s" on that statement. Purely assumption on my part, so take my previous statement and my next few statements with a grain of salt. Ping Pong root has been patched and unless they find another method there is no root on 5.1.1. Locked Bootloader, with no way around that, so no custom kernel to root (a la this method). Right now in order to upgrade to OE2, you have to use a patched version that keeps root, what happens when it can no longer be "patched" to keep root in further builds? If you've upgraded already to the latest build via OTA, you can no longer downgrade. Trust me, I want to continue to have root for what ever the latest build is out there but Verizon/Samsung have been locking things down tighter and tighter and there is always the possibility that an exploit isn't found and end up with no root on later builds than what we have now. Again, all of this is just my assumption and I hope to end up wrong in the end about everything, 5.1.1 isn't even out yet for us so we'll see when it drops.
I know this is probably not the right place to post this but i would be willing to donate a 100 dollars to someone that gives me root on verizon s6 OF1. I messed up and upgraded. So I sure hope someone can get root. I have tried everything.

Since you guys are trying to downgrade to OE2, I'm assuming that means you have the .tar files?? I just bought a new S6 and have been trying to update to OE2 from OCE and I have already tripped my Knox counter. Use the T3 method posted here.
It is the same now because the only reason the T3 method was different was because T3 was on 5.1.1.
DOK2 is 5.1.1 so now they are the same method.
Just use the BeastMode 1.1.1 kernel to remove the root restriction. (Can't root on a stock kernel after 5.1.1)

from a soft brick running oc4 to a working S5 updated
Thanks for the files!
i originally soft bricked with pa2 update and i did not have any recovery what so ever for it. Downloaded this file loaded odin and it made it work again. i flashed all files.
My stock S5 upgraded to 6.0.1 the other day and I don't like it. Can I flash this to downgrade to lollipop?

No, i think not, why? not sure but they say it will brick.
I've been wondering about this myself...
Come to think of it, let's say they did burn a qfuse in this update (which they probably did), then in order to get yourself back in working order you'd need to be able to use odin to flash a working 6.0.1 stock rom, I'd think.
The problem is that, as far as I'm aware, only the update is available not the rom itself...
That'd be a big problem for anyone trying to experiment...
Did anyone here have the problem trying to flash back to 4.4.2 after the lollipop update? This should be the same as far as treatment goes.
Is there a way to tell if the qfuse has been burned? I got a G900A before I realized that the ATT version was locked 6 ways to sunday, and have been sitting on PH3 since I got it.. However I dont know if the previous update to PH3 was applied OTA or not, considering I got the phone already factory unlocked.
Is there an easy way to tell if the current version of my rom was applied via OTA or USB?
