Now that I have rooted my S6 I want to fix some niggles that I have with the S6. I want to remove the persistent notification for wifi, I want to remove the volume warnings, the prompt when toggling airplane mode, have vertical settings, uninstall all ATT and Samsung bloatware and change the color of the notification bar. Any tips on how to fix these niggles with a rooted s6?
i would love to be able to turn off pop out view.... i hate when i swipe down from a corner, it puts it in the window mode

Hey all, I have a quick question about how android handles popup notifications. I know there is no stock way to remove it or turn it off, but does 5.0.1 let you, or is there a custom ROM I could flash to fix this annoyance as seen in the picture I've posted? Thanks.
what exactly is the annoyance?
You can turn off notifications for individual apps BTW - go to settings/sounds and notifications/App notifications and turn them off
The annoyance is the popup notifications. And I still want to be notified of Hangouts messages as I rely on it, but don't want this popup that can only be swiped away that dismisses the notification.
There are 2 things bugging me at this point and want to know if i am just overlooking the solution. The first thing is can we remove the auto brightness slider from the Notification Bar? I have looked and searched all over i cant seem to remove it. Second thing is is there any way to stop the screen from turning on when i receive i new text message using the default messages apps? I usually dont use default messaging apps however i want to use the edge lighting and people edge notifications. Anyone figured out how to get rid of these 2 issues?

Unfortunately the brightness slider can not be removed as it's built into the framework, also no way to disable screen wake with stock text messaging app (until we get root if it ever happens)

Text Message screen - Have you tried going into the text message app, swipe left, under Advanced, Settings, uncheck Enable Popup? My screen does not wake when I get a text.

I have to second this - my screen doesn't light up when I get a message ... BUT I also use the Samsung SMS app and not the Verizon one. I don't even care if the VZW one is better, I refuse to use Big-Red branded apps.
As for the brightness slider, it appears this is now baked into the framework without any option of removing. I'm sure it would be an easy fix if we had root, but you'll have to be patient on that front.
Hello,
I've just bought the P9, and so far have been happy with it.
One thing that I haven't been able to fix, compared to my previous Galaxy S4, is that the LastPass quick-access entry on the pull-down notification bar aren't permanent. On the S4, when I started the app, it installed a quick-access entry on the notification bar. On the P9, when I start the app, it is also installed on the notification bar. When I press the power button to put the phone into standby, and then use the fingerprint sensor to regain access to the phone, the quick-access entry is gone.
I suspect that it is a security feature, but I can't find a way to ensure that the quick-entries are not removed. I don't know if it is an Android-M or Huawei feature.

It's the derp huawei UI, you can either lock it from the recents display by pulling it down or going into the device manager and set it from there
You need to add the lastpass app to the ignore battery optimization and allow it to run on screen off. it's buried in the settings under Apps if i remember correctly.
Thanks PsymonDK,
That was the problem. The battery optimization was shutting down the app.
This is my first Galaxy watch, so maybe I have a few settings or something wrong, but I can't figure out why the Watch3 shows a digital clock when there are notifications and doesn't go back to the "home screen," my watch face.
On my Android WearOS watch, when I have a notification come through, the screen changes to let me know what it is, and then if I do nothing, it goes back to the watch face I have selected. On the Watch3, if any notification comes through, I MUST do something (press the home side button, rotate the bezel, etc) in order to go back to the watch face or else it shows a persistent large digital clock as if I'm 10 years old and need to see numbers in order to read the time!
Second question, semi related to the first, but which setting do I uncheck so that a notification doesn't open full screen and I have the ability to swipe up to remove it or click on it to expand it? Is that "Show with details?" Turning that off means I can manipulate the notification without having to hit the back button first, then swipe up to clear or rotate bezel to see other notifications?
Final question, why do I have to go into the Notification settings on my phone to see recently sent notifications and manually turn them on when "Turn on for new apps" is in the on position? When an app sends a new notification from my new Note20 Ultra to my new Watch3, I see it listed in this section but I have to manually allow it to notify my watch even though "new apps" is selected and should be letting anything NEW to come through on the watch without having to okay it first! Any thoughts on why that is or what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!
The brief notification is where you get a small pop up at the top of your screen. How the hell do you disable this globally? Some apps like WhatsApp you can do from within the actual app's settings. Others you can turn off priority notifications.. But some apps don't have any valid setting. How can I disable this for all apps. Its such a useless feature for me. I just want the regular icon in the status bar and nothing popping up
they used to be called heads up notifications I think and yes I'd welcome a solution for this too.
I currently run my phone in 'do not disturb' mode 24/7 because I despise their intrusions.
