Hello,
I recently started playing around with Custom roms on my XT1068 and was kinda disappointed by the Multisim Management in CM12 based ROMs compared to stock.
The Stock solution is nothing too fancy it just allowed to assign a color and a Name to each sim and to remember the SIM choice per Number for SMS and voice calls:
I only found one third party solution - Dual Sim Selector (net.pixelrush.dualsimselectortrial in Play Store) which emulates this behaviour.
Is there any way that the stock SIM management solution can be integrated in CM12(.1)?
Are there other solutions/ROMs out there which offer equal functionality?
thanks,
f.luke
12.1 have that and more. what ROM you tested?

Hi Guys,
Just wanting to know which roms offer the automatic sim selection feature?
So that I can assign each contact to the correct sim once only for calls.. Lot's easier.
Paul.

Minimal OS does that perfectly
Hi, I'm on MinimalOS (final version) and I do not see such option (which I liked very much on Stock ROM). Am I missing some Minimal OS setting?

Tried it.....Nope, on Minimal OS , I still have to 'Ask Every Time' to switch between sims.... I really miss the automatic sim memory feature....
yeah, i switched to cyanogenmod which was way faster than my stock, but moved back due to it also missing this feature. Sim selection is v.important.. more important than speed !!!shock!!!
I think that the story is relatively simple: up to version 5.1 Android was not "aware" of dual SIM phones, so implementation of dual-SIM handling was up to each manufacturer. I believe that Google added support for dual-SIM in 5.1 and I have to say that what they did is far from being handy to use - Motorola did their homework much better. Anyways, I really hope that Motorola will bring their implementation over to Marshmallow instead of taking what Android offers out of the box (unless Goolge imporved this in MM, which TBH, I very much doubt).
so i stick with stock.. disappointing. I also tried a modified kernel (stellar ) and tweaked it as per a discussion thread.. but to be honest, no real improvement in speed. oh, well. guess i will just go buy a new dual sim mobile.
I have a Blu r1 with dual sims both Ultrame, I cannot set dual ringtones on marshmallow 6.0 I have read this is a system-wide issue with marshmallow on many dual sim phones seems sony took the hardest hit. I am wondering, since I cannot find a third party app. that works, for my own curiosity, when using dual sims does the phone look for two different networks to identify the two numbers orrr does it only recognize sim one, sim two as two different calling circuits altogether? I am used to it by now but am wondering is there a fix for this or anybody who has found a thrid party app to install dual ringtones? This is a basic work phone, and I need the dual sims, but having two different ringtones would help a lot.

I had a different Blu phone "life one x" and it is duel sims. The duel ringtone setup was a custom "profile" on the sound & notification settings page. But when that profile was there you could not change the ring tones. It would only allow it to change to the ones stored in a /system folder (don't remember which one) . Any way that profile is not nlt on this phone and I was not able to create it either, so. Maybe an alternative option might be to set all your contact in your phone book to a group and set that group to a custom ringtone, that way you know if the caller is someone you know vs a potential new customers.
thanks for the input
Thanks for replying,
I see your idea and it would work except, in my business I receive calls in on both numbers one is in Miami the other is on the other coast of fla. so depending on where I am at the time I still would love to get dual ringtones, One for Miami the other for the west coast number, my groups have both numbers to contact me,in case of emergency, so it would be best for me to have a dual set up for new calls in. I am still looking for an app that will work on MM I am sure with all the complaining one will show up sooner or later............

found this app.
DuelSim Ringtone
I dont have two sim cards so I could not verify if it works.
It lets me set different tones for the different slots but without two cards, could not verify if its working
thanks for input still not working............
As far as I can tell, I use two phone numbers under the same carrier, I believe most of these dual ringtone apps are set to catch two different carriers not singular. I was hoping for an app that would see slot one slot two and relate to that. shame really. but oh well I will be dropping the one line soon so not a big deal. Thanks for the replys

My phone: Huawei P8Lite originally Single-Sim, but converted to dual-sim long time ago.
I just got the unpleasant surprise to not be able to fully use my SIM after upgrading to Nougat custom ROMs (tried AOSPA and LineageOS 14.1). None allowed to directly view or save new contacts on SIM, although I could import already existing contacts from SIM.
Is there any better Dialer/Contacts app around that can replace the rather crippled default app?
EDIT
Issue seems to be deeper and nastier than thought... it seems that "some people" - those which decide how Android should be, decided that we don't need anymore to save contacts locally, but rather Google should know about each and every one of us... which I start to dislike more and more:
https://android.stackexchange.com/q...i-save-new-contacts-to-my-phone-or-sim#154936
Even if this is a "feature" introduced in latest Android versions, is still confusing how some ROMs allow saving on Phone (others don't unless google account is removed), but none allow to save on sim.
Hello everybody.
Can you please help me how to get different ringtones on different Sim Cards on my Pixel device?
I know that i can add different ringtones for different contacts, but i want to have ringtone A for Sim 1 and ringtone B for Sim 2.
My Samsung and my old Xiaomi phone with the Samsung and Xiaomi Dialer are able to support different ringtones for each Sim.
I tried to install a Samsung and Xiaomi Dialer apk on the Pixel, but the Pixel is not able to start the Dialer apps.
Can you please help me how i can get a solution?
What i have seen also the new Xiaomi devices offers the Google Dialer, on the Mi 9T it supports the good old Xiaomi Dialer.
The main reason for my needs are, that i very often get calls on my business Sim Card, which are not in my contacts and it was a very comfortable situation when it was possible to know on which Sim Card i received the calls.
Thank you very much, i hope that somebody can help me.
Dual SIM Ringtones - Pixel 6 & Pixel 7
I'm not sure why this thread was not posted on this site (on Reddit) and decided to bring it over to XDA-Developers. My previous phone was a OnePlus 7T and experienced no issues setting a ringtone for each SIM (Business & Personal), to find out...

I just purchased this samsung phone after ages (been using xiaomi and other phones) but unfortunately it does not offer call recording in my country. Can anyone please share if they were able to change the CSC code to one with working call recording (indian csc maybe I have seen some indian youtubers mentioning how to enable call recording) .....also please guide me how exactly do you change the csc code on this phone any tutorial would be very helpful thanks.
Quick Update: I was able to enable call recording by changing my CSC through sam fw tool there is a catch tho, as soon as I change my csc to anything non-native the galaxy store starts spamming "get recommended apps from your provider" ads after every few minutes and there is no way to block notifications from galaxy store (the option to disable notifications is greyed out) so I had to revert back.
How about completely disabling the galaxy store then?
Do some people actually use that bloatware for real? That was like the first thing I debloated
Here you can read how I enabled native call recording feature on my Samsung device
Should work on most modern day Samsung devices out there
Enjoy

Galaxy Store is required because samsung apps (camera, themes, keyboard, cloud backup etc) are not available in play store they update via galaxy store disabling galaxy store would make sense only on a custom rom which unfortunately isnt available for my device A33 and I am not rooted either. I came back to samsung after many years on ios, miui and other UI and I am baffled by how polished One UI has become I can never go back to MIUI (it was a torture with all its bugs that never get fixed) or any other User interface.....I can literally customize anything from icons, font, system wide theming to even the statusbar icons (using good lock app) back in the days we had to use xposed modules to modify statusbar icons. Lack of native call recording is my only gripe with ONE UI at the moment.
Hi my default region is dubai. For call recording option i changed my fw to indian fw. Actually i got the call recording option. Similarly im having good battery life better than before. Only catch was samsung pay replace for Samsung pay mini. I think its better to switch full fw than only cse
So is it possible to change csc in a33 using samfw? to enable call recording?
Yes,
Have you not read the other posts?
I was due a replacement phone - so I decided on the A33 5G (sim free, untouched by any network provider)
.
Bought it direct from the Samsung Store online, paid £319.99 - £10 cheaper than most other stores online, i didnt want a contract, didnt want finance, just went hassle free and paid for it outright and it was direct from manufacturer.
I would usually require the most powerfull device available with the most freedom. and least restrictions, lets say a feature packed, flagship for a power user.
Well... my needs have changed and wow, for a mid entry device - the A33 is awesome.
BUT NO Native call recording in the UK.
-----------------------------------------------
I am 100% capable and confident with reprogramming the device if needed, I was a phone technician back in the day, the Beginning of Android changed the game for me and killed any future progression in my career.
Anyhow, can anyone advise - what other features are restriction by laws, location etc etc.
Is there any tools that can scan the firmware, or list all CSCs with their geolocated features etc.
kind regards,
Dan
