[Q] i'm really tired about the slow motion - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, is not usual to me write post in this forum by two reasons:
1. Im Spanish and the English is not a language that I use normally and I write like a 3 years old boy...
2. Before start a new post, first i look about the case, but this case is a **** for me.
I installed, Cinema fv5, L camera, and a lot of apps of playstore (and apptoide) and no ones are able to record in slow motion.
The L camera has te option to record, but in nexus 6 cant choose it because is disabled (i think in other model like nexus 5 it works)
Where is the problem?
In build.prop?
In kernel?
Some developer can answer me?
If they are no way to enable the slow motion, I will sell it on ebay..
XDA is The big think that exist on Internet!

If you use the "search this forum" box, you can usually find what you're looking for. Try Google translate for language barriers.

Search results here @ xda suck

Ive searched high and low, here, google, bing and forceclose.com' even tried ADB and terminal to look under the hood. nothing so far.
I hate the 1.6 camcorder; no auto-focus...not even sure if there is a zoom feature. Can anybody tell me which version or which image the camera/camcorder.apk in CM.4.0.4 is from so i can port.
It looks like a mesh of Magic's and Hero's modified, but im not sure and very confused.
This is the only thing keeping me from going full-donut.
that would be the htc camera port, give me a sec and i should be able to get you a link to it
it's a little bit old but the first one i found with the search

THANX bro
you say first...i assume reguarding the search results but there arent any updated or modified versions of said info right?
EDIT: also there shouldnt be any stability issues to encounter. i mean why release 1.6 downgraded w/ less features?
it is not less features, just the stock camera that came with the phone's most likely
i don't use the camera on my phone ever so i couldn't tell you much about it, just from helping out or reading threads
try adding the month in on your search sometimes that helps
i put in htc camera .apk android so try it with a oct after it

[Q] How does it work?

I am getting a Nexus One soon, i Luv Android, but im new 2 this forum & iv had but never activated an Android phone... Even tho, i kno so much about phones, Android, & all types of stuff, its ridiculous... I dont even kno if this is the rite part of the forum 2 ask this but anyway: On the Nexus One i wanna put the Desire HD rom on it but i also want 720p HD video recording, even tho its on another rom, can i still hav it with the Desire HD rom over top of it, or something? Also I wuz wonderin since it has quick boot, still i wuz wantin 2 put a quick little custom pic rite there, possible? Is there a way to get the Locations app on the N1? Last question: Wut do i hav 2 do 2 get better or\and louder sound out of the speaker? Mod the speaker, hack it, or use Desire speaker, which sum1 pointed out that, they both hav same form factor... I kno its a lot but, if sum1 could plz help me, id b so greatful...
No, you can't "mix ROMs". Not at that level.
It doesn't have "quick boot", it has "quick resume from hibernation". Different things. Nice feature, completely useless for anyone but frequent fliers.
Look for "custom bootanimation", and you'll get the next answer.
If Locations app is ported to Desire HD ROM - you'll have it, if not - not.
You can't get the speaker do more than it does.
Proper English would have gotten you way more answers, not only in this forum, but generally. It's painful to read such post. And I'm not a native English speaker.
Haha yeah no doubt eh... Were you typing this on an old nokia with T9 in a blizzard... because if so I'd completely understand. I guess xda supports old brick phones now...

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. (REQUEST)

Hi,
This looks like a very helpful website and I have a tricky objective that I wondered if anyone here could help me with.
My wife bought a Note 4 (N910G) and she would really like to have a few options that aren't available on the stock Telstra firmware.
She is Japanese and would really like to have the stock dictionary from a Japanese note 4.
and also the Japanese language isn't available on the default N910G
Is this the place I can request help with things like this?
or is there a place I can request custom roms?
or is there a place I can learn to take bits and pieces from other firmwares?
I started a tutorial but I can'T find the firmware for the Japanese release note4.
and I don't know where to even start.
Is there even a way to just add more languages to the default phone language dictionary ?
I'm sorry if this isn't in the correct forum, I'm off to search a bit more.
on a side note I also have a note 4 N910U and that actually has the japanese language available by default but does not have English to Japanese dictionary by default.
The dictionary I am referring to is the one that pops up when you highlight things in the default samsung browser and such.
Thanks again for any help

Thanks for that suggestion.
I didn't know I could do that.
it helped change the default language, but I allready loaded a Rom that had Japanese enabled so that wasn't/isn't the problem I am trying to solve now.
All I want to be able to do now is highlight something and use the default samsung dictionary to look up words in Japanese and translate them both ways. eng-jp and jp-eng
also the auto correct is crazy bad.
if a word is typed in Japanese the suggested words are often wrong and if a mistake is made it doesn't fix it,
hard to explain but my wife really can't use this phone the way it is.
Is there a way to get the full Japanese firmware and flash it onto the n910g? or N910U?
I searched, but no luck. I think there is no way to flash offical japanes firm for 910g or 910u coz japan model has different model number. The other things i cant help you.

Yeh I can't even find the firmware for the Japanese models on sammobile..
its really annoying. I wish I had the time to learn how to take firmwares apart and take the bits and pieces from one and move them to something useful.
I started trying to learn but considering I rooted my first android less than 24 hours ago, its a bit daunting still.
maybe another region has the Full English to Japanese dictionary built in to the firmware?
Brazil has quite a large Japanese speaking community.
its not that I really need the dictionary. its that if I know the firmware has that dictionary built in then I know it can be used to type and auto correct properly.
also if this all doesn't work. do I have to mention that a phone has been rooted when I sell it?

I found the problem... in japan offical only just the note edge realised.
Try search sc-01G firmware, download it and extract/copy what you need i think its a working way coz the note edge has a very similar libs.
And yes when you sell your note 4 they see it rooted before, but in my country the rooted note 4 has the absolute similar price then non rooted.
Sorry my bad english its not my native language and i dont use so much.
Edit: s translator from galaxy app market has jap-eng and eng-jap.

thats a cool translator thanks. The awesome thing about the built in dictionary is that it doesn't use data when translating.
I appreciate your help, So I will get the note edge firmware and then
I'll have a look at that firmware but I have no clue how to extract the dictionary and files i need.
does anyone know What I need to extract and how to go about doing it?
seems like I'd have trouble figuring out where on the Edge firmware I would find what I want.
but I guess after that I could just copy it to the same place in the N910G firmware..
but then do I need to change some other string or something so it knows it is there?
I just know someone here could do this sort of thing before their morning coffee, please let them read this.

Warning on HTML5 Vibrate API scam pages!

Hi everyone! I would like to warm you about scam pages using HTML5 Vibrate API to mimic system notifications!
The problem is quite old and you can read about it here for ex. link to the blog.
But really bad news that our Note 4 with stock browser allows the using of Vibrate API without asking the user for permission!
You can test this yourself by going with your Note on this test page https://shkspr.mobi/vibratescam/. Please take in mind that it is not harmful example.
But I decided to write this topic because there exists real scam using Vibrate API like this one:
http://wonderlandads.com/?zoneid=292440&pbk2=e7365e726b0ca06f51ec06c833fa6db16188134738946672277&r=%2Foc%2Fhan%2Ftomb
The link is adapting to the device and outputs different pages for them. I have attached screenshot of the page opened in Note 4 stock browser so you don't have to try it by yourself.
I also made a test of some popular browsers to find a way for safe browsing and here is my results:
Test on device Note 4 stock android 4.4.4
Stock browser vibrates
UC Browser vibrates and plays sound
Chrome does nothing of this
I believe that other Samsung devices and firmware versions are vulnerable too! If you wish you can test a link from the article I mentioned in the beginning of this topic and write here in the comments the results. I am particually interested if new firmware with 5.1 is safe or not from this threat.
Thanks all!
all browsers do the same for me Vibrate only
Stock , chrome and chrome beta.
you gave permission to browzer....it is not new. BTW is soo old like my grandmother

Man. Stock browser? install? seriously? I just told that there exists real scam regarding this API, which everbody can get right NOW. Your smart talks makes no sence regarding the topic.
I have the same concern experiencing the same problem with my S4's stock browser by Samsung. It does not present an option or an in-deep setting to disable that behaviour buried in somewhere like Firefox's about:config.
What should we do?
