Okay, so I'll give as much detail as possible.
Bought broken sprint phone, replaced the body. No issues there. I was trying to clean it up, flash a nice rom for my mom and make it work well. Well, I ended up clearing the OS, system, everything.
What I do have is access to fastboot. No recovery. I've tried a lot of RUUs, but I either get either Error 152, or it hangs on sending at 4%.
Any ideas?

When you say "tried a bunch of RUU's" ... which ones have you tried?
Did you relock your bootloader before running the RUU's?
You might need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Dist.
Try installing HTC Sync Manager.

I've tried all the ones I've found here for Sprint, I've also gone to htcdev to try theirs. Yes. It is relocked, and I do have HTC Sync installed.

Alright, cool thanks. I'll try the latest 3, as I tried the 4th I believe.
Any particular way I should flash it? Or just lock the bootloader, and fastboot flash zip firmware.zip like I've been doing?

The first 3 are exe files just click it and it will start
The 5.03.651.3 is a zip here are the instructions for that.
-Download ROM
-extract zip to a folder on your pc
-boot into bootloader (various ways)
-using fastboot, type this cmd: fastboot oem lock this will relock the bootloader (S-ON ONLY)
-from pc, run ARUWizard.exe from the extracted folder. it will run the RUU utility & flash back to stock

Alright, I'm trying the 5.03.651.3 right now. It's stuck on the sending 1/6. I'll just wait for that until the others download. I'm headed on holiday in about an hour. I'll remote desktop though for as much as I can. Thanks again.

I've flashed multiple ROMS but I don't know what what's up now.
I was stuck on FTS Rom and couldn't flash any other ROMS- they wouldn't take. It would always reboot in FTS.
So in TWRP, I did an advanced wipe... everything was gone including the multiple various ROMS and backups in both TWRP and CLKmod. Trouble is, now I can get as far as flashing various new recoveries from the bootloader, but I can't push any rom to it or flash anything from the bootloader.
Extra kicker- I can NOT mount the phone on my computer. This has been the case for a while, not from any ROM. Not from FTS Rom, not from any recovery... can not mount the phone and transfer files.
HTC Dumlock also did not work.
Specs-
HTC One- unlocked, rooted, HBoot 1.55, S-On, Radio 4%.20.3218.13
Any help would be appreciated.
I did s-off since you're unlocked. Probably the issue. Then I would go into fast boot to either ruu or transfer a rom
I think rumrunner is what works on 1.55 hboot

Thanks for your help. Downloading the RUU now but before I flash this I just want to be clear.
Do I first need to S-Off using Rumrunner? I can't find a mac version, just Linux and Win.
Then do I need to re-lock my bootloader? (I read that step here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251800)
Then at that point I can flash the RUU or can I just flash the RUU without S-Off or re-locking the bootloader

fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip

I'll take a guess this means you need s-off
or a windows PC to run the RUU.exe I posted first
I have either a really easy question, or a series of more complicated (for me) ones. I have an HTC One that I want to use. It's currently running CM (installed through the one-click installation method at get.me). It's also currently locked to the Canadian carrier Telus. I want to use it on T-Mobile in the US. After some research, I just bought an unlock code. With a T-Mobile sim, upon booting it asks for an unlock PIN. I tried using the online purchased pin and it doesn't work. The seller of the pin said that it needs to be running a stock OS.
So I'm not sure what to do here. All I want is to enter the pin I bought and have the phone unlock. In its current state, the phone prompts for unlock pin, but doesn't work. So I figure I need to re-stock the phone, but I can't quite figure out how to do that. After several guides, I used a youtube video by called "How To Unroot and Flash your HTC One Stock!" by wwjoshdew. But it uses an RUU zip. I only found an RUU exe file that seems to match my phone's baseband and carrier. I followed the first few steps and loaded ADB and made the phone be "relocked" through the ADB command "fastboot oem lock". I then found an RUU that matches my baseband:
(From another xda thread that has a link for the RUU called "RUU M7 UL K44 SENSE55 MR TELUS WWE 4.19.661.8 R Radio 4T.24.3218.09 10.26.1718.01L Release 351500 Signed 2")
But when I try to run it (as admin), it just does some waity-mouse-becomes-clock stuff and then nothing. Computer is unchanged. Phone continues to sit in bootloader set in fastboot mode waiting for further instructions. I'm running Win 8.1. The only thing I can see if that the bootloader is 1.56 where many guides indicate it should be 1.55 or 1.54 or 1.44 or whatever. But the guide I'm using doesn't specify which. Is there something wrong with the RUU exe file? With my computer? With what?
ADB tells me this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot getvar all

So now my phone doesn't completely boot. I was following a youtube description that had me relock my phone from fastboot (fastboot oem lock) and then use the RUU.exe file I found. It didn't work, so I started looking at other methods. It seemed that I needed to unlock the bootloader again, so I used the HTCDEV tool that has you download an "Unlock_code.bin" file from the HTC website. After doing that, the bootloader now says it's unlocked, but it won't boot into my CM version. I can unlock and relock my phone at will, and enter the bootloader, but it still doesn't boot to the main OS.
Any help? I just want to sim unlock it. If it's stock or not, I don't care anymore!
Thanks in advance!

100% true, you must be stock to use a sim-unlock code. BUT some users reported sucessfully sim-unlocking using a code on ''close-to-stock'' rom like ARHD.

Better to ask here instead of following instructions from a youtube video. Many of them are outdated and doesn't consider your own situation, i.e you have s-off.

baseband is not that revealant to find a ruu, always check for proper CID and MID (and if S-ON (not your case), you can only use a ruu with same or higher fw version, i.e 4.19.661.8 and above)
I followed the first few steps and loaded ADB and made the phone be "relocked" through the ADB command "fastboot oem lock". I then found an RUU that matches my baseband:

You don't need to re-lock bootloader to flash a ruu when you have S-OFF.

Maybe! Check MD5 value of your ruu, if it doesn't match, download it again.

Turns out the RUU was corrupted. The MD5 checker works now. But now when I run the RUU.exe, it loads in but can't find the phone. It's still there in fastboot mode plugged in to the computer. I can issue fastboot commands and everything, but it still comes up with an error when trying to find the phone.

And here I thought 8.1 was almost the same as 7. My driver says "SAMSUNG Android ADB device". I didn't really worry so long as fastboot commands were working. So even though cmd sees it, that doesn't guarantee anything? I don't easily have access to a windows 7 machine right now. Some other threads seem to suggest that HTC Sync might help. True?
So I installed HTC sense and then I got "My HTC" driver. Now it connects fine. It worked and my phone is now unlocked. Yay!
Thanks!

I don't know which RUU did you try but here is 3.17.502.3 and 4.18.502.7. You might try these, make sure your bootloader is locked/relocked! Generally, the error 155 is the result of using the wrong RUU for your version. The two I provided are based on you hboot, try version 3 first then version 4.

I am pretty much sure I tried both of them, I think it has something to do with the fact it doesn't write down any "version-main" number like the phone doesn't even have it. :/

Your missing version number is the result of being overwritten when you flashed a custom recovery. The newer custom recoveries have made changes to avoid that issue. Since, your phone isn't bootlooping then it is just cosmetic. You might try this 3.17.502.3 rom.zip. You would flash it in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
In a command window type:
Code:
[B][I]adb reboot bootloader[/I][/B]
After that, type:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot oem rebootRUU [/I][/B]
NOTE: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.
NOTE: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots. Then, repeat the steps above again.
Finally:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip 3.17.502.3.rom.zip[/I][/B]
Repeat the same command: IMPORTANT
Code:
[B][I]fastboot flash zip 3.17.502.3.rom.zip[/I][/B]
NOTE: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Last Step:
Code:
[B][I]fastboot reboot[/I][/B]

can you find the debug log, or use the ROM.ZIP in fastboot:
the usual procedure is:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ROM.ZIP
fastboot flash zip ROM.ZIP <- yes twice!!
fastboot reboot-bootloader
but during the first flash it will throw an error, let's see what it is
to get the ROM.ZIP, run the RUU, once the first screen shows up there will be a new folder in %TEMP%, within it you will find a 1GB file called ROM.ZIP
if it's due to the missing version-main, you can fix that using the misctool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526316

nope, especially with S-ON and a signed/encrypted RUU.ZIP (the one contained in the RUU.EXE is signed/encrypted), so when you try to flash it using fastboot (which is the same thing the RUU.EXE does, but doesn't show textual progress - though there should be a log somewhere), the fastboot flash will start by various checks, if and only if all the checks pass (meaning the signature, MID, CID, etc are correct for your phone), the ruu will begin installation.
the first flash will do the hboot preupdate and say "failed flush again immediately", the second flash would continue flashing all other partitions

So, does that mean it will fail like the RUU.exe did because I'ts the same way of installing, just its showing install wizard instead of CMD?

yes most probably it will fail, the RUU.EXE is basically just a "container" for the ruu.zip (called ROM.ZIP).... the exe will extract fastboot/adb/rom.zip/etc files into a temp directory and then basically do the commands i listed above.
(I do believe the "wizard" does some initial checks just for the sake of visual feedback, but the actual flashing is done using fastboot commands in the background)

its very easy to fix, all you have to do is run the dev edition RUU again to make sure everything is fully stock for the update to work, however, your real issue is the fact it wont connect to your laptop, why not ? whats it doing ? what does device manager say ?
Ok. Connecting to computer im least bothered. I need it to be up and running.
I have unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP 2.7.1.1. Where can i get the dev edition RUU? Can i just run it from system by connecting phone in fastboot?

your computer needs to see the phone whilst the phone is in fastboot mode in the bootloader for anything to work, but the the updated lollipop RUU is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/guide-convert-m7-developer-edition-t2840311

yes just the 2nd part as your already on dev edition, if it fails, you may have to download and install the firmware first, due to you running a custom recovery, you can find the firmware here, thanks to @alray https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=20283, you will want the 6.07.1540.2 firmware which matches your version main.
I have connected the device in fastboot and ran the RUU, but it failed saying Recovery, and then it exited the process on computer. But my phone is still in the same silver htc logo, does it mean its installing or it failed to install? And BTW how do i install that firmware and also there a few versions if the same firmware!
If you can help me with sorting out this it would be of great help!! Thanks in advance for all the help till now...

here you go, easy way, download this: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722641610 rename it to rom.zip for ease
place it in the same folder as adb and fastboot on your computer, then open a command window there. first you need to get out of RUU mode, so type fastboot reboot-bootloader, your phone should return to the bootloader screen, then enter recovery on your phone, hopefully twrp recovery still, then type adb push rom.zip /sdcard/, takes a while but it will let you know when its done, it will look like its doing nothing whilst its pushing.
unplug your phone and flash the rom, select stock radio and stock recovery when prompted, when the phone starts back up, check for updates, as you are s-on your bootloader will need to be relocked to update.
Thanks man for the help.
let me try and install that thing. Need to know why to relock the boot loader? and how can i relock it?

just type fastboot oem lock with your phone in fastboot mode, if you need to unlock in the future, just use the unlock token again or goto HTC Dev to get a new one.

Hi All,
For months I have been trying to return my HTC One to stock ROM without success. When installing cyanogenmod I wasn't successful in creating a backup and didn't realise the implications of this until I tried to return to stock.
I have tried a few things - finding a back up for a H3G HTC one, changing the CID to 1111111 ((bootloader) [JAVACARD_ERR] SD/USBDISK Init error), installing from a RUU.exe and nothing has worked.
ADB and Fastboot are correctly set up on my laptop and communicating with my phone.

you cant change the CID without s-off
heres your latest stock Lollipop RUU.zip: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934542817
it will wipe your entire phone, so backup anything you want to keep before flashing it.
As you are s-on you will need to relock your bootloader before flashing, but backup first as once the bootloader is locked or relocked, your custom rom wont boot.
rom taken from here and instructions on how to flash it are at the top of the page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944

Thanks for the very quick reply. I downloaded the file.
Apologies for needing the extra help but I am unsure what to do with zip file - quote from the instructions "As many in this thread, ask about zip corruption, zip are not corrupted they are encrypted and can't open normally , they need decryption check md5 and dont try to unzip them"
Can you help on how I decrypt the file?

why do you want to decrypt it, just follow the instructions and flash it as it it, rename that zip file to RRU.zip, put it in the same folder as your adb and fastboot files on your computer, and flash it.
Go from here: How To Flash
1. Rename file to RUU.zip
2. Place it in adb folder
3. Reboot phone to fastboot mode
4. S On need to relock bootloader (fastboot oem lock) , S Off lock not needed
5. Also use the htc_fastboot.exe not the normal fastboot.exe
get the htc_fastboot.exe here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934539737
Rename htc_fastboot to fastboot or if you don't rename it, then the command will be "htc_fastboot flash zip RUU.zip"
Run the following commands from your adb folder:
6. htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
7.htc_fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
8.htc_fastboot reboot-bootloader

Seanie,
When I tried the flash it didn't work, I got an error message, I then read the text at the top of the page and misunderstood the guidance for instructions. Hence the decrypting question.
I just retried and it seems to have worked.
I do sincerely appreciate your help. Since November off and on I have been trying to make this happen - I couldn't have done it without you.
Thanks,
Piney
