Xprivacy on lollipop? - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

anybody manage to get xprivacy on Moto maxx lollipop?
I got a bootloop with the latest version

i have droid turbo get nothing

Please search the respective forums before asking something like this. The changelog for 3.6.9 says this version changes nothing for lollipop, and the developer itself posted that he will wait till xposed for lollipop is stable. The only version that can work is 3.6.6-1 Unsupported, and you need a modified kernel for this (see the Xprivacy github page for instructions on modifiyng a kernel to enable Xprivacy services: https://github.com/M66B/XPrivacy/blob/master/README.md#installation). I tried myself with Android Kitchen and got nowhere, so I'm using Afwall+ with AppOps as suggested by @Netuser here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/alternative-to-xprivacy-to-5-0-lp-rom-t2972726

Xposed Framework for Gingerbread

Update on 2017.05.02
I discountined the repo.xml for Xposed Framework for Gingerbread.
For myself, I use Xposed Framework Gingerbread for my old phone.
Now I use pixel, and use Brevent without Xposed Framework.
Update on 2015.10.30
The back-ported xposed framework used a seperate repo.xml for the sdk.
I found many times my server hang up due to the parse of the module.
Now the repo.xml won't check any package outside of the official repo.
(as the size from rovo89's repo is limited to 8M)
Update on 2014.08.15
I have fixed my old phone by replacing the screen.
I think it's the last chance, as screws is broken, I cannot open the phone any more..
I will keep back-porting if I find more than 10 users and gb-devices are more than 10% in the google play store.
Reference: http://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html
Update on 2014.08.04
As my old android phone (which shiped the android 2.3.5) is broken.
I have no gb devices anymore, so I won't maintain this project anymore.
For all the projects, there are opensource, and free to change.
Update on 2014.06.03.2

Update on 2014.06.02.1

Update on 2014.06.02
update to the latest 2.6.1
Note: the light theme is not good on GingerBread, so it's disabled.
Thanks @rovo89, for great hack on app_process.
Now, I try to backported to gingerbread (api-10).

The binary of XposedInstaller, XPrivacy are on github's release.

Please do NOT contact the original author @rovo89 or @M66B) for support on the back-ported Xposed, nor XPrivacy.
For any issues related back-ported, please contact me directly via PM, or post an reply with @liudongmiao.

As I have no time to update this thread.
For other modules, please install XposedGB Installer, and check in the Download Fragment.
And, I think XPrivacy and Xposed App Settings are good enough to install Xposed Framework.
For a xml verison of the modules, please visit http://piebridge.me/repo.gb.xml
Update on 20140105
I have back-ported two module, XPrivacy and Xposed App Settings.
And rewrite Master Key Fix GB. You can get all in the back-ported XposedGB Installer.
If you find some module very useful, you may create an issue at https://github.com/liudongmiao/XposedGBModule.
When I have time, I may consider to back-port it.
Update on 20140104
Now I have updated the framework through modified repository.
I cannot promise to update the the apk in attachments.
Update on 20140103.1
And as you see, the back-ported XposedInstaller is rename to XposedGB Installer.
Currently the repo for XposedGB Installer is pointed to a file generated from original repo.
I will check the result of the file, and keep gb-only modules. This is done every hour.
Currently, modules back-ported by me are not added yet, I will add them later.(Added them on 2014.01.05)
For the source, please visit below links, and please DON'T contact the original author @rovo89 or @M66B for following framework/module.
// As @rovo89 and @M66B indicated that those modifications won't be merged, and GingerBread won't be supported in their original versions.

XposedBridge: https://github.com/liudongmiao/XposedBridge
XposedInstaller: https://github.com/liudongmiao/XposedInstaller
XPrivacy: https://github.com/liudongmiao/XPrivacy
XposedAppSettings: http://github.com/liudongmiao/XposedAppSettings
I will keep back-ported and catch the upstream update for them.
For any feedback for back-ported xposed framework, please contact me or create an issue on the project.
For the back-ported xposed modules, please contact the back-ported contributer.
For other xposed modules, you may contact the original author, or create an issue at https://github.com/liudongmiao/XposedGBModule/issues
(Please note, I don't have much time to back-port all of them, so if you find some modules are very useful, please add some comments, I will consider it has a high priority.)

Need help!
@liudongmiao
I've been using Xopsed for a long time on my ICS ROM's. Suddenly, I came to know about Xposed backported to gingerbread and i was thrilled! So i installed my stock gingerbread ROM and decided to give Xposed a try. Everything worked well till version 2.4.1-gb and then I updated it to 2.5.1.
Unfortunately, after the update, the framework doesn't install correctly for me. I have attached a screenshot of the error. Please help me with this!
Can't install Framework
@liudongmiao Thanks for you efforts in this back porting.
You can see i'm new here, i hope you can help me.
I have an issue, cant install the framework, i have no problems installing the XposedGB apk, but in the app, in "Framework" section i get "Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 10 or your processor architecture (armeabi-v7a). reloc Library (1346):2507 cannot locate 'dvmLogExceptionStackTrace'...cannot link executable." I tried with fix permissions, uninstalling-installing the app, but i have same error.
I already test with version 2.4.1 and 2.5.1, same results.
My device is a ZTE V795 with 2.3.6, mediatek 6572, 512 ram, dual core 1 ghz. it's compatible?
Thanks in advance and congratulations again.

There is some guys reported this error.
Could you tell me the device name, and system information?
// android version, or not-android?
And if possible, could you tell me the rom address, so I can download it?
If not, could you compress /system/lib and /vendor/lib (if exists), then send it to me?

+1 on this
This may be an idiot question to ask, but here goes: how do I install the XposedBridge? I downloaded the .zip from GitHub, but don't know what to do with it. I tried flashing in CWM, but it says "Installation aborted". Couldn't find an .apk to install.
Thanks for the great work!

[EXPERIMENTAL] [UNOFFICIAL] Xposed for arm64 devices | 5.1 and 5.0 versions available

arm64 is now officially supported: See here
Old OP
Hello Everyone,
I have successfully compiled Xposed for android 5.1.x for arm64 devices.
I have so far tested this on my Nexus 9 running a custom CyanogenMod based Android 5.1 ROM with SELinux disabled (It may work on ROM's with SELinux enabled but testing has to be conducted.).
Install zip is attached to this post. (The SDK 22 one) This will only install Xposed framework for Android 5.1 for arm64 devices. Please see the original Lollipop post to get the other files you need. (Hint: you only need the Xposed APK from that post.)
I compiled this based off of @romracer's source code for Xposed on Android 5.1.x.
So far I have tested the module Lolistat, It seems to be working well.
Please be patient during boot, let your device boot 10 minutes before reporting that it is "bootlooping"
====================
For Android 5.0.x
I have also compiled Xposed for Android 5.0.x for arm64 devices. I have had mixed results from testers so far. The install zip is also attached to this OP (The SDK 21 one). Many HTC M9 users have reported this caused a boot-loop for them. This will only install Xposed framework for Android 5.0.x for arm64 devices. Please see the original Lollipop post to get the other files you need. (Hint: you only need the Xposed APK from that post.)
Remember to always backup all data before using. Use at your own risk.
Please note: There will most likely be arm64 related bugs with both of these. See this post for more information.
Please be patient during boot, let your device boot for 10 minutes before reporting that it is "bootlooping"
just in case...
I got a new m9 in the box, thinking about waiting to activate it since xposed wouldn't work on it yet.

Somebody would need to be willing to test, but I could try to compile Xposed for it.
Well, if you're willing to test and support it, you can post unofficial files for testing...
I have a Nexus 9 with Android 5.0 myself and it's running fairly well. I haven't used any complex modules though.
Be aware that 64-bit ROMs need different handling in a couple of places and break some expectations. For example, initZygote() will be executed twice, as there are two app_processXX processes now. Modules might not expect this. I also didn't succeed to enforce a certain startup order of the processes (app_process64 before app_process32) yet, so results might be a bit random. There are probably more differences like this and it's generally more complex than on 32-bit ROMs. That's why I have only posted files for ARM so far. On the other hand, if you're willing to look into issues that come up (e.g. installation problems, crashes, things that are not working) and do some pre-analysis, that's fine and could bring the project forward. If nothing to major comes up, I can then also include official files with the next version. Additional support would be very welcome anyway.
Framework installation zip attached to OP.

Ohhh didn't even think about that. Would make sense
Thanks for taking this on, joshuabg. I couldn't believe it when I saw this thread. I thought that 5.1 jumped the arm64 shark and we'd never see xposed for N9.
Anyway, I flashed on AICP 4/6 with FireIce K8.3, SELinux disabled and it booted just fine. Tried the following modules, and I see what rovo meant in his post above. It's really hit or miss with the modules just like the [SUPER ALPHA] xposed for 32 bit arm devices. Thanks again for rolling this out to test.
YouTube Adaway - seemed to work, jumped to dozens of random videos and no ads
Minmin Guard - app opened and seemed to operate normally but I think it may have blocked ads across the board without my telling it to do so. I think it also caused an XDA Free force close on opening that wouldn't go away
Swype Tweaks - caused Swype to FC anytime the keyboard should have launched
Yup my bad. Gravitybox says right in the description it'll cause a boot loop on 5.1. Everything is working perfectly. Thanks!

Xposed for android 4.4.4 not working anymore + FIX

What devices and ROMs are you using that have these problems, and what is in the error logs and logcat?
Without this information, no one can help you, not even rovo89 himself.
Also, have you searched the forum to see if others have this issue and what's been learned about it?
It's Samsung Galaxy S3 with Cyanogenmod 11 official! I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer. Maybe my english isn't good enough
My device is Motorola RAZR XT910, with a TI OMAP4 ARMv7-A SoC.
Right now, I am on an Unofficial CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4.4) ROM which contains the latest security fixes for the Stagefright vulnerability and was built on November 15. When I try to install Xposed framework, using the latest official stable installer from Xposed Repo, I get an the following error: "Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 19 or your processor architecture (armeabi-v7a)".
When I was on the latest Official CyanogenMod 11 ROM for my device, that was built back on September 1st, Xposed would install and work properly on it, withour any troubles / warnings / errors. Now, I just want to use the latest build that has me protected against Stagefright but I can not install Xposed framework on it at all.
@rovo89 Is there / will there be any fix for this issue?

I tried the patch for my Redmi 1S, it gave me bootloop.

FYI, I believe this commit is causing the problems:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/118800/
Replacing /system/bin/app_process and /system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so from previous CM builds will allow the framework to be installed without problems.
Ok, i'll try
But it can't be a right solution
Well, of course it's meant to be a temporary workaround, until (hopefully) rovo89 will have the time to fix this, if possible. If you heavily rely on Xposed it's better than nothing.
With the link to the commit, I just wanted to help to point out where the problem comes from in order to maybe get a permanent solution.

Xposed dead in latest CM11 *Unofficial* rom
Same thing with cm11 latest release with security patches for stage fright. Although the rom is listed as "Unofficial", it comes from THE Official cm11 OMAP 4 developer. Only listed unofficial because CM has not caught up with the developer. Xposed Framework does not work anymore on Android 4.4.4 See attached screenshots.

I know CM is not working yet, but I can't vouch for any of the stock modified ROMs.

Just tried flashing XT1225 5.0.2 system. It boots up, but fails to set up. Reboots at the first setup screen.
I guess XT1250 4.4.4 will work since it has same FCC ID.
CM 12.1 s being worked on right now. See this page. Looks like it's been solved. You will probably get it in the next day or so with a new nightly.
Or workaround instructions may be posted before then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...axx-xt1225-cm12-0-pre-release-t3060089/page85
Once CM 12.1 is sorted, then the other ROMs, especially Resurrection Remix will adopt the same procedure. @Skrilax_CZ, the CM dev and @baybutcher27, the Resurrection Remix and Mokee dev, are helping each other on this. @baybutcher27 also has a custom kernel with lots of neat features, in addition to CM base kernel, so they both want this to work for ALL Quarks.
several trials and errors I did.
XT1250 KK -> XT1254 DOES Work without any FCs. Since it is an identical device, it should work fine. However, it needs LP stock rom which is unavailable I think.
XT1225 LP -> XT1254 DOES NOT Work.
- With XT1225 boot.img : Reboot after choosing language from Setup Wizard
- With XT1254 boot.img : Constant Telephone FC. Device seems to be working I guess
What are the odds of the quark forums being put back together now that we are unlocked? Rather than monitoring 3 diff forums? Not sure how it was before but making it similar to the G2 forums, where you had a general G2 dev forum, then a sub-forum for each specific carrier.

That was what some of us suggested -- but the the Droid Turbo owners wanted us far, far away. Now they need us.
I suppose it might have been confusing at the time
I came from a razrm and while I shared a cm11 rom with several phones specs were different on the devices.
Personally I would like to see the forums merged as well. If it didn't make sense then. It does make sense now.

Perhaps the same people who petitioned for the divide need to petition for a merger?
I'm not sure who finally approved the Quark forum split, but @TonyStark was very helpful in making it go smoothly. Some stuff got put in wrong forum and he fixed it promptly.
Now with bootloader unlock and common kernels, ROMs, there's no reason to be divided anymore. Everything now works on all QUARKS.
I can see this being an issue. It seems as though a maxx dev put out a kernel for the Turbo that will run RR and CM12.1. Would that dev post it here as well, or link it with flashing instructions?
A lot of us have been sitting idle waiting for the bootloader unlock to happen, and haven't had to delve very deep into the inner workings of lollipop. I personally haven't had a bootloader unlocked phone since 2011 or so, so I m trying to be very cautious in what/how I flash. Having to bounce between forums and even devices is quite worrysome when you haven't been actively flashing for some time.

You are referring to @baybutcher27, who is also the Resurrection Remix dev and OFFICIAL TWRP QUARK dev. And yes he also has his own kernel, based on CM kernel but with additional options.
CM dev @Skrilax_CZ made CM kernel work for XT1254. But that will show up in tomorrow's "nightly".
You can find links to everything here:

Once you go to those links, read the first post and the last few posts. There's plenty of instructions.
Now that the XT2254 bootloader is unlocked, it's just another Quark. Everything will work.
Whether they duplicate those threads over here is up to the devs. That's double work to maintain two threads for the exact same releases.
If they decide to keep the devices separated it really just needs a post with a link saying "go here" in the droid rom section

Has anyone got CM12 to work properly? I did a FDR, flashed the rom, and then butchers updated kernel. I can get it to boot, but it won't update/install any of my apps from the play store.
EDIT: OOps, i flashed one of the radio images in skrilax's CM12 thread. Not i can't get any signal. Anyone have the radio.img from SU4TL-44?
Wouldn't the download for 10/10/15 have what you need?

Thought it did, i found it elsewhere. Got it to connect to cell when it loads up, still having the play store issue on RR as well as CM12.
I think it has something to do with the 'Storage space running out' message i'm getting. Not sure why thats there, never had it on any other rom/phone.
I have RR running without a hitch it seems. Calls, sms, mobile data all working normally. Havent had any google play issues yet either and ive installed quite a few apps. So far, so good here.

I had that happen when I first flashed it this morning. I had done just a factory reset in twrp. When I mounted system and wiped the partition than reinstalled RR I didn't have a single problem. It shouldn't be doing that anyways seeing that the system partition is 5GB

Apparently this framework is far from stable and all kinds of PRs are welcome.

Nevertheless, this start post is more informative than the original one.

Is the only Pie compatible version, and also looks like to work on Oreo.
I have a Google Pixel and I can confirm it's working on Pie, a lot of modules works, so far so good.
I started testing it today, on Oreo and I would say that is working stable for now. Some time ago after installing Xposed on my phone, I noticed that Xposed causing that system and application are running little slower than without Xposed. But capabilities that Xposed is giving to me are more important, so I can live with it. Now after installing EdXposed I didn't noticed any impact on system performance.

Worked at first and I was able to install fake gapps because I wanted microg, but it stopped working after that. I do have microg working now, but I can't add any more xposed modules as it shows inactive. I read somewhere that it works after a soft reboot, will try that next.
