Hello friends,
I'm using Sony Xperia Z1 C6903 phone.I updated it to 5.0.2 lollipop 2 weeks ago(the official Sony update) and I'd like to downgrade it to KitKat.The reason is fast battery drain and it's a bit laggy.I'm not very experienced in android flashing, downgrading etc.I would be really thankful if someone posts clear instructions for downgrading.
Thanks in advance.(Sorry for bad English :/ )
Already discussed
And yes battery drain, lag performance, camera grainy, lacking 4.4.2 development and even crashes and random reboot

Hey buddy can u tell me when did u received lollipop update, I am waiting for lp since quite long. Any idea when will C6903 receive lp update
No Brick?
So it is safe to just flash KK TFT via Flashtool and it's done ?
Yes it's safe, I did it today without problems. I'm happy now on Kitkat, Lollipop sucks (5.0.x) hope 5.1 solve all the actual issues.
I agree initially battery performance was bad, but I found, once lollipop was given some time to settle in (after a week), I got back the longer battery life.
Nz
Yep battery life is almost the same after let it settle but on lollipop my phone have a lot of overhead even on 960mhz for max frequency and 300mhz for min freq and have a lot of launcher redraws... (even if my Z1 was running a very debloated ROM), multitasking isn't present on lollipop (almost), xposed memory leak fix help a bit but the leak still present.
I'm on Kitkat now and I'm very happy, I just miss some UI features from lollipop but I can live without that.

The battery life on XZ is not acceptable at all. I am having 8 hours on KK (.230) with 2 hours of use a day and around 10 hours on 4.3 (latest). With same amount of usage, my htc one M7 is doing 2-3 days because I barely use the phones. Before the google play services was taking 78% of the battery life but after wiping data, it seems to be fixed but it's still draining fast.
As I didn't have this phone for long and some of you had been using it since 4.1.2, I would like to know which version of the rom was the most battery friendly. I am obviously talking about tft so this doesn't go against the best rom rule.
My opinion. You choose:
4.4.2 for mods and apps support and more stuff
4.3 for best speed
4.2.2 for best battery life
4.1.2 didn't used it long time

4.4.2 .233(not.230) is by far the best official ROM! Performance is very good as usual, but battery life is greater than ever. Also camera is fantastic like it was never before.

Did you even try it?. 233 works flawlessly while. 230 was laggy.
I agree that 233, which I use, work flawlessly, it's an update for China, the carrier customized version is for H3g, a Chinese carrier, it can also be found as generic Hk unbranded which is cleaner than the branded 3 österreich or 3 Italy etc..

Sony's 4.3 has always had lag when installing apps.
No way to fix it that I know of. Its a lot better in 4.4 custom roms though still occasionally get a lag when installing from play store but doesnt freeze the whole phone.

Same version number but thats all, Sony messed up 4.3 badly hence why we had so many versions of it (including their internal test versions).

I feel like I should be able to find this easily on my own but I'm having more trouble than I anticipated. I've been trying tons of note 7 Roms with no luck battery life wise. At this point I'm looking for any type of ROM that has great duration as long as it's marshmallow.

xposed pretty much works with odexed marshmallow stock firmware you dont need deodexed roms.
On lollipop required deodexed roms for xposed.
I am on stock pk2 n910t latest firmware and xposed works without any issues.

Okay one last question. I think the reason I changed from stock a while back was because I needed to use viper4android and it required permissive kernel. Can stock be made permissive?

Yes you can flash on stock any permissive kernel like beastmode r56 or ram kernel v4 for viper4android.but permissive kernel will brake private mode i am on stock kernel and private mode works fine.

Could you please post me the link DeOxed stock rom you're using? And what do you use in xposed?
I had OvrDrive rom and horrible SOT 3hrs
And what baseband should I have? EPG2 causes battery calibration issues and there is no fix yet. Could you suggest some BB too?

I am on Pk2 latest bl\modem i am using stock official firmware but i am rooted with twrp and xposed works just fine on stock rom.i am not using any deodexed rom.
I uninstalled as many built in apps as possible and i got 5hours SOT.
SOT depends on your usage i am always on wifi if i use mobile data the dafinetly i will get less SOT.
brightness always less then 25℅,black wallpaper for homescreen and lockscreen to save GPU energy.
While my device in pocket i always turn on powersaving mode to make cpu deep sleep and hibernate apps by greenify.
By this steps you will get preety good battery life.

Yep absolutely.
You have 2 choices
1st choice ,if you want stock 4.4.4 kitkat then flash N910T2 firmware in odin and do wipe data factory reset after flash .you will be on stock kitkat 100%.
2nd choice, if you want rooted roms like dynamic kat or firekat then you have to flash 5.1.1 OK1 firmware then flash twrp recovery after that from twrp flash any kitkat rom you wish but must flash nadia kernel with kitkat rom otherwise you may stuck on samsung logo because you are on lollipop bl/modem.
Nadia Kernel 4.4.4 is in link below.
https://mega.nz/#!accnkb6B!f_wdM79WXZ2UYy2El87DXYctihB40MBjV4imBKlhoDo
I will not recommend youto go back to kitkat because many apps and games required 5.0 or higher these days kitkat is almost dead but if you will use as basic phone chatting, media etc then its fine.i just noticed that even youtube does not support 1440p/1080p videos on kitkat and there is no option to change quality.
after all its your device and do as you wish i am here to help.
N910T2 stock nonrooted firmware link below
Extract and flash in odin.

So I grabbed a stock deodexed marshmallow ROM for a week or two and it is surprisingly by far the worst battery life I've ever had heh. I get like 1.5 hrs sot and I have to recharge almost twice a day.
Are there any suggestions? Both for other Roms or for fixing a stock ROM battery life?
Go back to 4.4.4. I get 7+ hours SOT. I never went to MM as I bought a 6P last Feb. I'm getting my Note 4 ready for my mom as shes moving to T-Mobile. After reading a bunch the last day or so it sounds like to much BS going on with any updates above 4.4.4. I remember 5.0 and 5.0.1 were destroying battery life which is why I never updated and 6.01 sounds like to much of a strain or wast optimized properly for the Note 4.
It works like this
Kitkat best battery life but a little choppy and some apps dont work because it to old
Lolopop 5.1.1 (not 5.0.1) is very smoth and has good battery life, but not as good as kitkat.
Marshmelow is the smoothest but has horrible battery life no matter the rom or what you do.
I tried absolutely everything and come to the conclusión that stock 5.1.1. With root + greenify y by far the option. Everything works great and i have about 5 hours sot without having to compromise anything.
I am alzó trying an app that puts the phone in 1080 but still dont know if it makes a diference or not. (ir runs cooler)

For out a few bucks for a extended battery .....I'm on 5.1.1 and running one of tekhd ROMs with a 10000 mha battery and life's good
My Sony Xperia Z3+ currently runs on Android 7.1.1 Latest Stock Firmware, however it has battery issues and it get hot, i have tried using foil in the case of the phone but it still gets hot.
So what ROM is the best for this phone?
I want fast performance , good battery life, less lags...
And i want to play Asphalt 9 which is laggy.... on android 7.1.1 stock.
for better battery and less heat i can suggest u to go with m-rom.BUT ITS NOT AT ALL A GAMING ROM,its simple....one has to sacrifice something at the cost of other.for gaming...stick to stock with lower res settings in d game.
