Does anyone know how I can activate hotspot on my phone? I am rooted on ATT gs6 edge and have no hotspot. I think it's because it's a corporate account. I had a htc one before that I changed the rom and was able to use hotspot. Just not sure how to do that on this phone.
Anyone have any sage advice to offer?

Also is it possible if my friend has a data plan he has a Sprint Hero and I have a T-Mobile G1 but I dont have the data plan is there a way to connect my phone to his wifi?
He needs to have some kind of wi-fi/BT tethering program installed and broadcasting. You would then connect just like you would to any other wireless network.
Can you tell me some tethering apps or how to broadcast it?
Anyone found a workaround to get wi-fi tethering without paying AT&T more to use the data plan I have already paid for?
I've tried all the apps I was able to find including the TrevE one. I'm unlocked and rooted and all that good stuff.

I have an AT&T Galaxy S6 (unlocked by AT&T). I was just trying to connect it to my TomTom, but the TomTom doesn't even see it. So I thought that may be because BT tethering is not enabled. Looking through the tethering settings, there isn't even an option for BT tethering (only for mobile hotspot and USB tethering). Does anyone know how I can get that back?
I've also rooted and installed Clean ROM, but this hasn't fixed the problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

Have you found a solution to this? I too have an unlocked AT&T Galaxy s6, and would like to use Bluetooth for tethering. I've search, and found many tutorials on how to use it, but nothing that talks about the option not being on an AT&T device. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have att unlimited plan for having directv.
As we all know it doesn't come with Hotspot.
So is their a rom that can by pass the apns on that?
Or an app I have to download that requires root?

Have you tried foxfi or pdanet+ which has enabled tethering before.
In the past I've been able to use PdaNet for wired tethering despite the carriers' efforts to disable it. Now it won't connect. Anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
Update: Put my sim card in my old Nexus 6 and tethering works perfectly. Obviously Samsung has figured this out and disabled it.
