I just returned my N910C - Galaxy Note 4 General

Yes, I returned my N910C and decided not to buy this MAGNIFICENT phone again. I am sick and tired of finding the right screen protectors that will not have HALO. I am also tired of the scratches on the bezel that seems to be getting worse every time I remove the case. I am also tired of finding the sweet spot when I put the phone on the Qi charger because I am using a third party Qi receiver that is not centered on the back of the phone.
I kept a blind eye on the 5.0.1 lag (previous apps) and worse battery performance than 4.4.4 hoping Samsung will immediately push updates as this is still a top of the line phone/phablet, but it seems like they are don't give a damn and are focusing on the S6 and S6 Edge, and there is another news that the iPhone 6s is coming so Samsung is preparing for the Note 5. That hit the final nail in the coffin for me...
I have wasted a lot for buying and trying different tempered glass and cases that will fit with the OEM Qi charger
I am now looking at the older Note 3 and other alternatives, but I am not in a rush... I might wait and see what the Note 5 brings on the table.

I bought a 2.5D Screen protector that fits perfectly on my phone,i spent just 3 dollars., yes, i've scratches everywhere, but who cares ? put a case and forget this, remember, it's aluminium!
Samsung will update the Note 4 with the newer touchwiz soon.. i'm having the same battery life on lollipop that i was having on kitkat, 4.5~6 hours of SOT on a full day.
the major problem it's the lag on recents apps (i can live with this), with BOC7 they fixed the GPU bug, so, no phone is perfect, but the note 4 it's the most close to it.

I have to eat my words....... I just ordered another one for myself, and one for my wife as she wants to upgrade her S4, and no, iCrap is banned in our family... I can't find anything better for my needs atm... I'm really F%^&# by samsung

I downgraded back to KK because of all the problems, like you I am struggling to find a phone with the same credentials as the Note 4, as a day to day handset it is awesome on KK, camera is amazing only just being edged out by the LG G4 it would appear.
I've been looking at a Nexus 6 but it is just massive and I think the N4 is about as big a phone as I am comfortable with, considering rooting it and installing CM12.1 atm.

I regret not returning my Note 4 when I could...
I must agree, this phone is bug ridden...
Recent apps loading screen is far to laggy. Closing all apps randomly. Camera performance is terrible in any light other than outdoors with fantastic lighting. Sound isn't that great through the speaker... GPS bugs. I mean, I'm very disappointed with Samsung for not pushing updates faster to this phone... If a few more months come and they're not all ironed out, I'm going to just take a hit and buy the G4 or the Z4. Yeah, I'll miss the screen size... but in all honesty, battery life, performance and camera are the most important things. Battery life is hit and miss from day to day... Performance while multitasking is laggy and a hit and miss. I hate multitasking and then only pressing button again to see that it had cleared out ALL my apps! And the camera? Meh... I mean, good ... very good camera! But only for day shots. I miss my 1520 / 930 camera... Wow... What a camera! But no WP for me for a while though!
Maybe I'll just argue with Amazon for a while... Maybe they'll return my device...

G4 is probably best bet with 5.1
Problems are really down to Android 5.0.x, have a look at the Xperia Zx owners they are having similar problems with 5.0.x

We just need lil fixes for our Note.
GPU, interface lag, memory bleeding, frequency scaling and get rid of annoying log of every f*cking app.

Google did a shoddy job with 5.0.X updates, even the Nexus users are complaining a lot so leaving the Note 4 for another phone that is also on 5.0.X or 5.1 is pointless really.

Is the Galaxy Note 4 N910C Region Locked?

Very true. Using the Nexus 5 wasn't very enjoyable pre-5.1. Now with 5.1.1, it's even better. Google's fault, not Samsung.

Right, didn't have to activate my Straight Talk SIM card. Just set the APN, rebooted, & everything worked.

I dont know why you are having such problem.
Have you tried SweetROM? C has more custom roms than U, and U users are doing just fine. You will never find a phone that doesnt scratch, it seems half of your problems are not even directly concerning note4; qi charger.... screen protector.
Life is not perfect, but we try to deal with it. Try doing somethingelse if you find yourself staring at your phone.

Excellent, just needed to clarify that. As I've read on some online stores that you have the Note 4 N910C needs to be activated with a local SIM Card and you have to make a 5 minute call before you can use it internationally.

Are you people on drugs or? Why the heck would you return your phone because you can't find a screen protector? It's Gorilla Glass 4 for **** sake, you don't need a screen protector. And I don't know about the lag you're talking about, but my Note 4 doesn't have any lag on recent apps and I get 6 hours avg. SoT. Camera is one of the best I've encountered to date, the only one that can rival it is the Iphone 6.

Careful with rushing out to buy the G4, the 808 has poorer performance than the 805 and the GPU isn't as good, you'll get dropped frames in games etc. I'm tempted by the G4 but I see absolutely no improvement over the Note 4. A lot of the Note 4s problems is Lollipops "Vista's" fault and whoever said the camera on the Note 4 isn't good is mad, it's one of the best smart phone cameras around today. Whilst the N4 isn't perfect, it's still top or close to top of the smartphone pile these days. Wait a couple of months and people will be moaning and complaining about the G4 or latest flagship. It's the Emperor's new clothes syndrome.

That would be the Note 3, Note 4 is not region locked but they did limit the LTE bands by region to reduce the grey market for phones.

Really? I saw on a online store that the Note 4 N910C is Region Lock, which is the reason why I asked about that. Since I know for a fact that Samsung did incorporate Region Locking starting from the Galaxy S 4 shortly after it's release.

You do know that just because you have a Gorilla Glass 4 screen doesn't mean that the screen of your phone can't be scratch or damaged? I've seen drop test, which have shown Gorllia Glass 4 screen spider-web when the hit the pavement!!

Yea I am on T-Mo. I never seen a Att phone thread so empty before.
They think they are protecting their phones when in reality it only drives customers away because most people that root their phones actually know what they are doing and it rarely causes problems. Let's see what happens to them with such an attitude towards customers

I assume most Att customer that wants a Note 4 will just buy a unlocked Tmo version.
I've never had/seen a better phone.
I have a GN4 on TMO. Have been experiencing download lags on the 4G network. Not sure if it's the phone or the network. Anyone else having similar issues ?
I bought 2 for myself. My gf has one, too.
My sister has one, as well.
I love mine. My main gripes are the 2.5D glass and how the design on the front covers up the capacitive buttons/LED notification light.
At this point, I think you're late to the game (expecting response, lol). Might as well pick up the Galaxy S6 in the meantime until the Note 5 produces tears in our eyes.
I wouldn't say, "late to the game." Seems like things are just getting good. We just got official cm nightlies, and have a ton of roms.

i considered waiting for S6 or even M9, but both will not be offering replaceable battery. They wont cost that much less than a note 4 either.

That's a smart speculation based on the recent pictures leaked.
Does this mean the Note 4 is the last of Samsung's "Smart" Phones? :crying:

Note 4 or s6 or note 5...

hey guys, i have a galaxy s4 for about one and a half year, and i plan to buy a new phone, the thing is, i really like the NOTE 4 design, battery, big screen, but it has some lags, and i like the S6 fresh ui, its smoother than all samsungs, and the style is really nice, i dont know what to get, i know that when the NOTE 5 comes out it will have the S6 ui and the NOTE 4 battery and screen, but i dont know if i should wait or get something now, because if i wanna get the NOTE 5 i have to wait for more than half a year.....i appreciate your advice....THANKS

Ya if you don't mind not having a removable battery or expanding memory cause there is no sd card slot. Don't listen to this guy. Go with the note 4 if you don't wanna wait also lg g3 is a great phone. Depending on what carrier you are on will depend on The development for the phone

I've had all 4 and I cant see myself stopping at the 4
Note 5
Wait for the Note 5. I had a GS4 from launch day in April 2013 up until the Note 4's launch day where I then got the Note 4, I skipped the S5 and waited the extra months and when I got the Note 4 the wait was worth it:
The battery life
Design
Build quality
SPen
Incredible camera
The best display on a mobile
Etc...
I am now happy with my Note 4, the S6 looks like a super downgrade from it,and will get the Note 5 later this year when I open another contract package for my 2nd line.
THANKS guys, i dont mind lack of sd-card as long as i get the 64gb version, but the thing that killing the S6 for me is the screen size, its not small but i have a 5 inch screen now so its not much of an upgrade, and the glass at the back is not the best solution if you drop you device once...maybe i'll check the lg G4 when it comes out....
I have a Note 4 (930F) and i would trade for a S6 edge if someone wants! S6 its the most beautiful phonne ever made

Personally I don't see a major difference between the S6 and Note 4 when it comes to usability other than the fact that the former lacks many of the functions of the latter. Doubt you'd be disappointed with either one. If you prefer VR however I'd suggest waiting for the Note 5 in case it ships with a 4K/UHD screen as the current one isn't sharp enough to eliminate the screen door effect. Highly recommend getting a Gear VR regardless of whichever phone you end up picking.

i do not care about the VR, i want a big screen with smooth ui and good battery, all the time i thought that HTC will come with something special but i was wrong, they used the same device from last year but with a better camera...and lg flex 2 lags a lot with lollipop, its like this year there is no choice but to pick the NOTE 4 if you want a big screen, but i know that samsung is lazy, they wont update the NOTE 4 ui to look like the S6 before the NOTE 5 comes out, and thats an issue...

yeah but its too far...
i've had an S2 and wanted to buy the S5 when it got out, i wasnt really amazed by it. Compared to the S4 it had ip67 waterproof, better camera, bit better screen but nothing extraordinary , and its still made of plastic.
I decided to wait it out then i realised the note series existed and i was sold immediatly when i saw the amazing note 4 it feels so nice, battery is awesome, screen is awesome, just everything is awesome about it.
If i were you, i'd wait for the note 5 if you can, like you said the nice UI from the s6 will come to N5 too + small upgrades like camera etc and maybe/probably even a note5 dualedge, so why not wait?
I had to buy a new one as my S5 was nearly at the end of it's life, i couldn't trust it anymore but if your s4 works fine, wait it out
Okay, so I'm in the same boat. I'm using my gf S3 because my S4 jumped from the shelf (literally) and commited seppuku, thus needing a new phone badly. Can anybody point the pros and cons of the Note 4 vs S6? Thinking of getting the S6 64GB but the lack of SD card and removable battery (as well as glass backpanel) are negatives in my book. Is the performance/no lag and screen quality really improved? Also, Wolfson DAC in exynos is a plus for me, being a musician and listening TONS of music on the go with headphones. Getting the Note 4 exynos isn't an option for me.
Thanks in advance!
It's the usual tech dilemma. Buy now or wait for the next big thing. There will always be a "next big thing" just around the corner. Buy now then kick yourself down the road when the presumed and currently unknown N5 comes out. Or suffer phone envy until it comes out. I passed off my S4 for a Note 4 because I wanted an S-pen. Not sorry I did and don't expect I'll be mad at myself for not waiting.

A question for Note 5 owners who previously owned Note 4

I know the title sounds weird lol but I actually would like to know what are the first impressions of comrades that owned Note 4 previously and switched for the new Note 5. Is the difference that great? I personally own the note 4 and I can tell yes, the note 5 feels a lot better in hand and performance wise on my end. Maybe because my Note 4 was the snapchat quadcore variant instead of the exynos? I am not sure but I definitely prefer the note 5. It makes me happy by just looking at how vibrant and crisp the display is.
Note 5 performance blows the 4 away. Night and day. And battery life is much better as well.

If you can live without the memory expansion and removable battery, the Note5 is MUCH better than the Note 4 in every other aspect.
The build quality is better for sure. The battery life doesn't "blow away" by any means, so don't think it will for a second. The performance is better but nothing to make you think foolish for still owning a Note 4.

The battery life is more than great... I get like 6 hours of screen on over a 20 hour day. That's excellent, and certainly at least 30% better than my Note 4 was. And the performance is day and night difference. The Note 4 lagged everywhere. The Note5, not at all so far.
Thank you all for the feedback. Im putting my hand on the note 5 today as I just received the black sapphire 32 gb phone. Will provide my experience after a day of my typical usage. It looks really promising before i even start using it.
So I have been testing the note 5 for a full day yesterday and it does really feels much smoother and fun to use than the note 4. The display makes you happy by just looking at it. It outperforms note 4 in playing heavy graphic demanding games and it is really fun using social media with. I like this device too much that I am not using my iphone 6 plus for the whole day, even for call quality I preferred the note 5. The design feels so premium in hand as well. I like the device.
It's simply better in every respect than the 4. My wife still has the 4 and it looks so dated to me. I used the move as an opportunity to go 'cloud' on everything and it hasn't impacted me one bit. In fact, it's more secure as an SD can be removed from a stolen device whereas a loss device can be remotely reset or can't be logged into. Battery has been fine although I tend to nervously charge at every opportunity! It's faster, snapier, smoother, more responsive, better screen, lighter, thinner and easier to hold, and the ability to unlock we just by touching the home button is the biggest benefit ever (as my work forces lock every time the device times out). It's by far the best device I have ever owned. And it looks fantastic!

Speak for yourself. The AT&T Note 4 had hit or miss GPS that was made better and worse but never good with multiple updates. One of the updates caused my battery life to drop by about 15% and it was never awe inspiring to begin with. The W8 versions are practically carrier unmolested which is why your experience is probably different than mine. I loved my Note 4; there was nothing out there that I thought was better. But, at least the way I use it, the Note 5 is in a different league.

So we're still talking about stock unrooted?
I just say this because I'm considering my next device, and I know some people with N5's that are happy with their purchase, and I know some who aren't. It seems to boil down to this: Comparing a stock N5 to a stock N4 is obviously no contest, as Samsung doesn't optimise their devices to their full potential... (Gotta love planned obsolescence) But as a rooted N4 user running a custom ROM that transforms my entire user experience, I wonder if the performance chasm that is being described is truly that vast...
Edit: And I have held the N5 in hand... I'm certainly not bashing it - it's a beautiful device. But I feel Samsung left so much on the table, and didn't really improve a device that was poised to truly dominate the market.
Well I was a nay-sayer to the Note 5 (I was going to avoid it at ALL costs). That was until my Note 4 speaker blew (factory warranty replacement) but since they didn't have any Note 4's in Stock where I went they told me that I was getting a Note 5 for free. I was hesitant and was going to deal with the blown speaker until they could get me a Note 4. However, the person at the store convinced me to at least take the Note 5 in the meantime and at least give it the 14 day trial. So, I did... I must admit I love it, I don't miss the SD card slot, though I am still looking into a secure cloud service. I have noticed the reception I get from the tower (Sprint service) is way stronger than the Note 4 I had in the same locations, and side by side comparisons with my wife's note 4 holds true to that statement as well. I have never been one to switch out batteries, so that was never an issue anyways.
TL;DR: Note 5 > Note 4 IMHO

Yep. I connect to secure networks that don't allow rooted devices on. I also didn't want to obliterate Samsung Pay and other apps that can't be root cloaked that read device status.

Assuming you're able to mimic the same custom environment on the Note 5 it'll still blow your Note 4 out of the water. Software can't take the place of a more modern and powerful SoC, uber fast memory and storage, and more streamlined and lighter stock apps and UI (assuming you're using any).
And I have held the N5 in hand... I'm certainly not bashing it - it's a beautiful device. But I feel Samsung left so much on the table, and didn't really improve a device that was poised to truly dominate the market.

What's really left design wise? The display sets the shape of the device so the only thing to play with is bezel size and depth. To support wireless signals and control weight material choices are metal, glass, and plastic. So no matter who makes a phone it's going to be a slab of glass on the front and made out of metal, glass, and/or plastic. HTC's dual front speakers didn't sell phones. LG's bizarre control placement and KnockOn didn't sell phones. Sony's waterproofing didn't sell phones. Apple's 8MP camera, iterative designs, lack of expandable storage, and fixed battery didn't prevent phones from being sold. Welcome to the "mature" smartphone market.

Considering upgrade to Note 4

I've had my Note 2 for 3.5 years now and I still like it but have recently been trying to decide whether it's time to move on and get something newer.
I think the only phone that I'd really consider is the Note 4 (the 5 isn't available in the UK ). I'd probably be looking at paying the same for an 18 month old phone as I did when I got my N2 (£30/m) and I got that the same month it was released.
Is it much of an upgrade over the Note 2 and does it still hold its own against newer phones released? I like the S Pen and screen size otherwise I might consider something else. Or I could just keep my N2 for another year.

note 4 is a great phone, but if i were u i would wait or consider upgrading to s7 edge
From Note 2? Its a HUGE upgrade dude. For almost everything. Just compare the specs in GSMA, and its easy. Some things though can't be reflected on specs, and even in those areas its a huge upgrade. Just go for it.
I went from Note 2 to Note 4, and it was almost everything I hoped. Custom roms aren't as previlent, is the only downside, but cm13 is coming along nicely.
It's a huge upgrade

If software and half ass fingerprint reader isn't a problem, Note 4 is perfect and can still go toe to toe with current flagships.

Wait for what? The S7 edge is a silly price and I don't really see much use for the edge display. And I'd use a case that would cover it up anyway.

Thanks. If it lasts as long as my Note 2 has I'll be happy. I think I'll go for it
Last September did the same, had my note 2 for about 2,5 years. Gave note 2 to my wife and then compared with my note 4. Note 4 is much pretier and with better feel on the hand, the screen is a big difference, when we put side by side the qHD beats the hell out of the HD. Note 4 is of course faster, the camera is awesome. The only downside its the fingerprint reader,it fails me 4 out of 10. I rooted and wear lots of custom roms on the note 2. When oassed to my wife went with a note 4 port rom,but now on note 4 haven't felt the need to root,i like the stock and abilities of spen and stuff, that's why i bought the note series,so why would i change. I advise you to buy it. You will notice the change. I will only upgrade from note 4 when we have a newer note with foldable display or something really new, otherwise not worth it,they just make some tiny spec upgrade.
GPS is a let down on note 4 my only gripe
Had my note 4 for almost 2 years, use is as Sat Nav for almost all my journeys. battery is great and just got better with software update. I had one issue with my simcard reader but samsung sent someone to collect my phone and i had it back all working in a new housing with new battery and usb cable within a week. My next upgrade is hopefully going to be the note 6 if it has SD card support, if not then ill stick with my trusty note 4

Here works fone and fast
The only thing I really miss from Note 2 is the FM radio receiver. There is also a question of size (the Note 4 is a bit taller and it shows when in pocket), durability (the plastic Note 2 held better the few dints and scratches than the metal Note 4) and the access to microSD card (blame Lollipop).
That said, it is a huge upgrade on most areas and a fantastic handset with both removable battery (I keep a spare always charged for a 2-minute 0% to 100%) and microSD card (to keep all those beautiful photos and videos it can capture and record, while also keeping a ton of media). The screen is beautiful and the quick charging ability is also of notice (for when you forget to bring the spare battery). The speaker is almost as week as the Note 2's, but it has great sound when coupled with decent headphones. For gaming, the Game Tuner app helps getting the balance between a good visual experience, frame rates and battery life (you just need to manually adjust the parameters). The S-Pen suite is also improved and the pen itself is leaps and bounds better (it comes with two spare tips as hard as the ones on Note 2 if you really want it).
Just go for it if you can't wait for Note 6 next September and are a Note fan.
Thanks everyone.
I hope I don't get GPS issues with the Note 4 and I do use that quite a lot on my Note 2. Is that something that shows up straight away if there's a problem or goes wrong after time?
I probably could wait 6 months but I'd have to wait 6 more after that as I'd probably renue my SIM only deal for another year if I kept the N2. Think I'll make the jump now. Very surprised there's nothing really catching my eye after 3.5 years.
Interestingly (maybe) EE don't actually sell the Note 4 directly anymore but loads of online places sell it with an EE contract.
I rarely use the FM radio on my phone so don't think I'll miss that. Is the SD card access the same as on a Lollipop CM ROM on this phone? And is Marshmallow out for the N4?
And spare tips for the pen sounds good. My daughter bit the end off my pen so I had to buy a new one
So The Note 4, it's excellent, the Camera rocks and removable battery and sdCard.
The s7 edge? From a Note? Don't do it - I did The s6edge+ fantastic, kept The Note.
You'll love it. Or wait for this years Note6 of that's an option.
The Note4 remains a fabulous phone.

I dont have any gps issues, marsmallow already came out for spring variant so ours should have it soon. And mine came with 3 black tips and 2 white ones and a small plier to exchange it. And again believe in me i also changed N2 for N4 and i never regretted or felt disappointed

I don't get the GPS issues on my phone either. Although GLONASS accessibility is an exclusively available thing in India. But if I remember right, Note 2 indeed was faster to have sat locks, I mean I don't remember much, cause its 3 years since I have used the Note 2 but it was almost instant outside and even in indoor it was 30 seconds if not less. This Note 4 on other hand takes around 30-60 seconds for outside lock sometimes for me (especially when my data is off), and in indoor in takes around a couple of minutes (again, if Data or WiFi is off). What I gather from these new phones is that they depend on your A-GPS setting quite a lot, which I don't think was the case with Note 2. In any case its no deal breaker at all. Just a little more waiting time, that's all. Accuracy is immaculate, far better than Note 2 anyway
In any case if problem should happen then there's an app called TopNTP, do install that, it made my otherwise half dead GPS response of my Note 3, somewhat half-awake. They keep some special NTP servers or something. Nifty app.

Yes, for ONE carrier, in ONE country, Sprint or something. But I am sure the international release will happen soon.
Well my Note 4 has now been ordered. Got an email asking me to ring to give them some extra info or something but they're shut now.
Excited now No other phones I want, Note 5 not available over here (and no SD card ), Note 6 (if it does come to the UK) will probably be silly price, and I'm sure I'll be happy with the Note 4.
Thanks everyone
I got a note 4 off my brother and love it. It's quick, reliable and good battery life considering its nearly 2 years old.
Should you consider it is another question.
Pros:
Screen on par with most new phones, enough power and battery life is good enough considering the screen size and remember this was one of the first with qhd. Has everything the new Samsung phones have.
Cons - it's not 64bit and marshmallow update will probably be the last official update. There are only few custom roms which are up to date although you do have cm13 roms out there is you decide to give up on the spen features. If you looking to future proof yourself I would probably get a note 6 or find a note 5 on ebay. At least that way you'll get android n and more chances of newer custom roms.
If you not all interested in the updates you should definitely consider a note 4(there are note 5 ports which make your feel newer and echoerom online is excellent). Looks good and performance is as good as you can get out there. Plus it's a lot better than the note 2.

Getting Note 8 Today...Anything I should be aware of or change?

I am finally leaving my Nexus 6P for the Note 8. My phone went dead while on a call and I still had 30% battery left. Google said they would give me a refurb 6p but it's a 2 year old phone...time to upgrade. I took advantage the $250 off deal from Best Buy and the Verizon payment plan...
Anything I should be aware of or settings I should tweak right away? I haven't had a Samsung phone since the Note 4 (I had the Note 2 before that)...Is Touchwiz any better than it was with earlier phones? I watched several reviews and it looks so much better then I remember...
Thanks!!!
Save yourself the time and hassle.. get a whitestone dome tempered glass screen protector.. it's worth it.

Personally I've never used a screen protector on any of my smartphones dating back to the T-Mobile G1 and I'm presently on my 19th. Never had a scratch or an issue with any of the screens. There are some new things for Samsung now, you can use Substratum with out root, you will need the Sungsratum add on too. There is also a thread on layers where you can get dark notifications and change the ugly Samsung nav bar icons. And get a good case, it's an expensive phone to replace if you drop it.
Keep your receipt ( jk ).

Get used to poor sounding speakers especially noticeable coming from 6p and tw which is not great.
Other then that great phone
Touchwiz isn't the monstrosity it use to be, it's actually enjoyable since the S7, it manages resources well. I only get 2% drain. Overnight. Your going to probably love the note 8. Battery life is really impressive and I came from a s8+

Many do for receiving calls, ringtones, notifications, YouTube and speaker calls.
Look I'm being quite picky perhaps because I've been using iphone 8 plus and HTC u11 my expectations for a flagship phone.

Yes. $45 for the only glass screen protector worth getting on this phone. Take a look at what it actually is.

Not to be a jerk but the reviews are not that great. I would just take my chances with a $8 film. Did I look up the wrong product?

I've used it. works fine. look at what kind of product it is and the installation process. You're bound to get people complaining because they couldn't do it right. You could argue it's whitestone's job to make the application process as foolproof as possible, but ultimately, they have a product that works, and an installation process that works. So many of those ratings aren't ratings against the utility and functionality of the product, it's ratings against their inability to apply it for whatever reason.
---------- Post added at 17:38 ---------- Previous post was at 17:37 ----------
Keep in mind that they changed the installation process like 2 or 3 times since it first came out so a good number of those reviews were people who were using the early versions of the product.

Ah OK that makes more sense. I just picked up a Note 8 yesterday so I'm new to the scene here.
Thanks for all the tips everyone! I am LOVING this phone! I never realized how slow my Nexus 6P has become until I tried the Note 8!!! The speaker worked just fine on speaker phone, the fingerprint/face/Iris scanners all work flawlessly. I ordered a case and the flat wireless charger for my nightstand and plan on ordering the wireless fast charging charger on Friday...
Any other tips...settings to tweak, cases that work well., accessories that are useful?
Thanks again!!
you have to check the respective forums/threads for all that type of info man..plenty of stuff out there, but this isnt the thread to discuss all those various topics..

You just left the last of the grown up phones from Google. Now they make phones for kids. Pixel? What were they thinking? Anyways the Note8 is a great phone. The best phone I have ever had. My 2nd favorite phone was my Nexus 6. That was the first phone that I actually kept for the full 2 years and never got tired of. You will like the Note8 it's a great phone. Guess we can hope that Google will bring back the Nexus line.

This IS the Questions & Answers forum right? Why not have ONE topic with everything in it...
I agree with you Jason; I still have my Nexus 6, and it still works just fine, but this Note 8 is really something..
I've had many Sammy phones over the years, but didnt care for them much recently; now that touch jizz is easily bypassed, and there is more than enough power in the Note 8 for doing all sorts of stuff, this is the premier phone out right now..sure, it would be nice if the bootloader was unlocked on the snapdragon model, but frankly, I couldnt care less about rooting it right now, since it works so well right out of the box..
Really? I find the battery life on this terrible compared to S8+
