EmergencyManagerService has stopped when trying to use Ultra Power Saving Mode - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Found similar threads to this one but without a good answer, anyway my problem is that when I try to use ultra power saving mode on the GS6 Edge AT&T without root the message "Unfortunately, EmergencyManagerServices has stopped." pops up and does not go into ultra power saving mode. Any further presses on the ultra power saving mode button pop up with the message "Configuring device. Please wait... ( 0/100)" and the "0/100" is unchanged no matter how many times I press on it or wait for it. Hoping anyone could help me.

GS5
I get the same notification when I try to activate Ultra Power Saving Mode on my Galaxy S5.

exactly same behaviour on Note 4 with android 6.01

安卓手机提示“EmergencyManagerService已停止”的解决办法
手机:三星Samsung Note4 N9100
安卓:4.4版
线刷包:是“三星N9100_{380750}_TGY(香港)N9100ZHU1ANL1_4.4.4_20160830194905.rar”
大家都知道这个官方的包内置软件比较多,需要做精简处理,然后一轮精简后,重启提示“EmergencyManagerService已停止”,Google一下,百度一下,Bing一下,都没有解决办法。
过程分析:
后来在钛备份中发现有个程序的名称就是叫“EmergencyManagerService”,对应的是在 \system\app 目录下的“EmergencyModeService.apk”的apk文件,这个包名称是“com.sec.android.emergencymode.service”的。于是搜索了一下“EmergencyModeService.apk”的情况,发现“EmergencyLauncher.apk 启动器.不能删除”,“EmergencyModeService.apk 启动器相关,不能删除”,“EmergencyProvider.apk 启动器相关联的服务”,三个带有“Emergency”开头的相关APK不能删除的问题。于是上 Root Explorer 看了一下,EmergencyModeService.apk 和 EmergencyProvider.apk 都在,就是 EmergencyLauncher.apk 被删除了,而这个 EmergencyLauncher.apk 就是“启动器 1.0”就是默认桌面系统嘛,想了一下,估计是因为后期改为使用Nove做桌面,想着这个没用,就删除掉EmergencyLauncher.apk,把这个文件复制回去,会不会就不提示呢?

[Q]Xposed module for fake shutdown makes buttons unresponsive

Im looking for a xposed module that would let me have a fake shutdown but that would leave the phone running without turning on the screen even when pressing buttons.
I tried the advanced power menu+ and it does have a fake shutdown, but after the 10s of (fake)shutting down message, if i press the home button on my s5, the screen still lights up and shows the pattern to unlock.
What i wanted is one that after showing that message and shuts down the screen, it doesn't light up again when pressing the home or side buttons and the only way to restart it is to remove the battery /pressing the power button for a few seconds or something along those lines, that way in case the phone is stolen the thief will think its off and i will still be able to track it for a while longer. Is there a module for that?
Thanks!

Hi. I'm the developer of Advanced Power Menu+. Actually my module has this feature. Just go to the details page of the fake power off option, tick the "Put device into screen-off death" checkbox and reboot. Then whenever someone presses the fake power off option, the screen cannot be turned on again even you press the buttons.
Let me know if this feature works on your S5 (I haven't tested on any S5). You can continue the discussion at the dedicated thread for the module, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/advanced-power-menu-apm-t2842792.

Will do and use the other thread. Thanks!
I had actually noticed that option but it showed the disclaimer and since i wasnt sure what it was, i pressed 'cancel'. So i will try it.
Btw, your module is very neat and i really like the ui, so if this works on the s5, perfect
Edit: it works on the s5. I posted about it on the module thread

phone stays black, button not responding? help

hi, i have a g800f. Sometimes (3 times in the last month) my phone doesn't wake up when i press power button. The last time i received a whatsapp message and then touch didn't worked, the phone didn't respond and then it became black. I had to remove battery and it started up again. An other time i found it like it were off because pushing power button i received no answers, so i did the same thing, removed battery and worked again.
I read it is a common problem of S5 and S5 mini. any way to fix it? maybe i should do a factory reset? anyone has the same problem? sorry for my bad english
It's happening to me too. There is no way at the moment to fix this issue. The only way that i found is to not remove the battery every time just press and hold three buttons together (Volume Down + Home + Power) it will boot you to Download Mode. Just press volume down to restart it.
Yeah this happens to me occasionally, I cant find a better solution to this but removing battery or waiting for 2-5 min.
Android 5 is coming in 2 weeks hope this issue would be fixed and overall performance for S5 mini would be improved.

Disabling power button (short/long press) on lockscreen.

Are there any solutions to disable volume and power button in lockscreen? I know there's an app which *tries* to hide the power menu, that doesn't seem to be secure enough, since long pressing still shuts down the phone.
Recently lost a phone (and successfully retrieved it, thanks to surveillance camera). The phone in question was secured with lockscreen, and it came back factory reset, ready to be sold in stolen phone market, which led me to finding ways upping my phone security.
Now, suppose I have tracker apps installed on my Note 5, it would rely on WiFi or mobile network to be traceable, and so far the only loophole I can find is:
1. Wrap the phone in tinfoil, all signal is lost.
2. Blocks speaker with thumb to muffle any alarms I set off
3. Rush home before I enable any alarms or track location, get connected to PC and start tinkering with stuff.
4. Keeps screen on until battery dies.
5. Or, just simply hold the power button.
With the Note 5, taking out the battery is out of question, which is a good thing in this case, (although not so good for a bricked phone with dead power button).
So, the next sensible option is to turn off the phone by long pressing power button, which is not exactly a hard thing to do.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. (I still don't fully understand how hard/easy it is to factory reset the phone with lockscreen on.)
You can disable power button on lock screen through an option in Wanam xposed or GravityBox.
But you can not prevent combo buttons to force phone turn off/reboot like Power + Volume down

Cannot get to Maintenance Boot Mode menu

Hello,
I've read a lot of threads trying to figure this out on my own with no luck. No matter what buttons I try, I cannot get the Maintenance Boot Mode menu to appear so I can enable USB debugging. Has anyone had this issue before? I have the SM-G920A Galaxy S6 64GB (AT&T) model.
Here is what Ive been trying:
"Once the S6 is switched off, hold the Volume up, Home, and Power buttons down simultaneously.
Kept the buttons pressed down until the phone loads into the boot menu."
When I try the above, it just keeps booting up with the Galaxy S6 black and white screen over and over until I let off the buttons, then it boots up completely.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Jamey
i too same scenario my phone is a samsung galaxy note 4. My guess is that my service provider at&t will not allow me to access this function.

Power button not working

Hi to all.
I'm new about this phone. I have purchased It only 3 days ago and i have an issue.
When i press the power button for shutdown or restart the phone, the menù not appear.
Nothing appen.
For shutdown or restart the phone i have installed the shutdown app from the store .
Anyone have this issue?
Thanks a lot
I've heard that Power button + vol up does the trick
It's a very very annoying feature. A power button that has no correlation to powering off the phone.
To shut down. You have to press and hold the power button and volume up key together and you will get the option to switch off/restart your phone.
Before you ask. Lockdown mode doesn't exist. Very useful feature that isnt on this phone.
They made it like iPhone...it was better on x2 pro like all other Android around untill now .
Thanks a lot ..
Works vert well
