Htc One charging but won't turn on! - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy guys.
So recently i bought a used htc one and it ran stock 4.4.2..My battery drained and i could not get it to start. When i put it to charge i got a flashing red and a battery with bolt inside it.So i replaced the battery and now phone charges,i get battery filling up screen when i connect it to charger. But the phone still won't boot!!!I can't access bootloader or recovery. My pc recognises it as Unknown device.I don't think it's hardware issue because the screen is working just fine and it is charging.I have also tried all of those tricks like holding the power + volume down, holding the phone under bright light etc. Thanks in advance!

Have you found a solution yet?

MY HTC diamond does not switch on neither does it charge.....please help :(

Hi, I have been using my HTC diamond toch for nearly 2 1/2 months. a few days ago, i did a rom update using Dutty's rom update. All went fine duing the update. used the phone for about 5 days nonstop, no issues at all.
But yesterday all of a sudden the phone has swtiched off by itself, now it doesn't switch on. Thought the battery might be dead so i tried charging but the enter buttton area doesnt glow and there is no sign of charging.
I switched batteries with a friend to see whether it was faulty but it is in good condition.
What do u think the issue will be ?
Thanks
Buddhi.
I have the same problem. I've just got my phone back from being repaired as the touch screen got all messed up and now it won't charge. I plug it in and the touch pad does the charge animation twice then stops. It'll randomly try to turn on but it doesn't even get to the point where the red writing apears before it turns off again.
Help?!
same problem here
Dudes.... Chill!!!!
Here's what you can all try ....
First you guys need to know that de HTC does not charge if the rom is inconplete/damaged .
And.....
If your batery is realy dead there is no initial power on the internal battery to manage the chargement.
So ... resolution.
Fist way .
If you know any one that may have an other HTC Diamond you need to swamp batteries so the good Diamond that has the internal bat ok and charge it there.
Second way . this one i did it my self .
Go to a Local ChinaMan store and buy a multimeter and a regular Universal Adapter.
Heres how it hoes ...
Use the Multimeter do figure out the polarity pin's on the battery ex: + and - .
remove / cut one of the plug's from the Universal transformer and also tag the polarity.
set the voltage to be close to 5 V - 1 Amp .
Can be 4,5v or 5.5v no sweat
Conect the cuted wire from the Univ. Adapter to the Diamond Battery respecting the polarity.
Leave it for a wile..... ( Probably up to 1 hour but chec from time to time tme battery temperature and if possible a reading on the bat voltage levels.)
Done!
Put the battery bat and boot your diamond or turn on to boot loader.
**** Attention if you don't have more than 50% of the bat charge compleated you wont be able to flash your phone****
Any questions Just reply back.
same problem...
its just...my battery was full before the upgrading...i was Unlocking my Diamond..and the upgrade didnt move more than 0% just when i looked on my mobile...there was black screnn...pluged it out..tried to power on..nothing..tried to charge...nothing again..i tried hard reset(vol down+power+back+reset)..it just wont turn on..please help me..im in panic
Help, I have the same problem and my battery was fully charged before this happened. Voltage reading is 4.2V on the battery.
I also tested the power button and there is nothing wrong with it, it conducts when pushed.
Usually pluging in the charger should start it up, but it will not start.
Anyone have any solutions?

I had the same exact problem two days ago.The phone was not charging while it was on,and when it was off it did that charging light animation twice and then third time the litght managed to get in the middle of the button and sudennly stopped. So here is my solution . I'v managed to charge the battery on another phone and turned my Diamond back on. While still attached to charger and power source i'v performed a soft reset (by pressing the reset button beneath the stilus) ...the phone reseted and now it's all ok.

[Q] Is my Milestone dead?

Hi,
I did something stupid yesterday: removed the battery while booting. It was on the boot animation screen, after the Motorola logo went out.
Now I can't turn the phone on, the white charging LED does not light up when connected on the computer USB port or the wall/car charger.
Tried:
- Removed/reinserted battery
- Press power button with SIM removed
- Press power button with memory card
removed
- Press power button and X
- Press power button and UP
- Press power button without battery inserted, while on wall charger (?)
Android version: 2.1. Stock version, rooted, no overclocking.
There's no sign of life on the device. Tried leaving it for 2 hours without the battery to powercycle it and tried leaving it to "charge" in the wall charger overnight and still no signs of life. At one point the LED white light flashed for a fraction of a second when inserting the cable but it no longer does this I don't think.
Could this be a battery problem?
Just want to check with you guys before taking it to the authorized service, because it will take weeks to get back.
Thanks.
Alright, so I just checked and when I plug my phone into the wall charger, the LED comes on for a split second then disappears. Also, since I lost my original battery, this battery was bought online, not too sure if it is a generic battery though.
At this point, im leaning towards this being a battery issue. Am I correct?
use rsd lite and try to flash a new sbf image
Hi have you found solution of this problem ? Yesterday i did same thing as you while booting removed batery and now it is dead it wont charge battery and same as yours when pluging charger led flashes for a fraction of second ...
maybe u must reflashed the firmware
I have same problem with my Milestone now. Not possible to power ON my phone. Tried to plug it in PC but the system didn't detect it for RSD re-flash.
Anyone have another ideas? Thanks in advance.

My N1 is bricked

I was using Nexus One since the last year. I upgraded to Cm6.1R2 last December. Since then the phone was fine and I'd say I was an extremely happy man with cyanogenmod. A week back my phone suddenly stopped working and whatever I did to bring the phone back to life, failed. I tried to go into bootloader to flash the latest CM rom by holding the power button + track ball, power button+vol.up, power button+vol up &down, power+vol up+down+track ball. None could bring up the bootloader and the screen is completely black. Whenever I connect my charger I see the green light which the only sign of life in my phone. I tried to reset my phone by removing the battery and putting it back after while. With the charger when I remove the battery I could see that the LED flickers between orange and green. I don't know what to do. Please help me
Have you tried booting the phone without the battery inserted, connected to the mains only? Short of that it really does sound like your phone is bricked. HTC would be your best bet, sorry mate. Also, make sure to try charging the phone for a few hours. I once thought mine was bricked and it turned out to be a buggy app that completely drained the battery requiring a good charge before it wud even turn on.

HTC One charging in recovery but not system

Whatsup guys,
I have an HTC One M7 and it has been on duty since it launched without an issue (except for the pink camera hue). So recently I lost my original charger, and now am using an original charger from the One X I had before this one.
So a few days back, my battery drained so I plugged it in and the battery icon with a thunder sign in it appeared with some red words underneath it stating that I have developer software (duh I use ARHD). All the usual stuff. But the next morning I wake up to the same screen and when I try to turn it on, it won't. All I could do for a while, was to plug it in, have the icon appear and nothing else. Leading me to believe that the plug in the phone was damaged.
So after a couple of days of suffering without my One, I managed to make it turn on by plugging in a Nokia charger for an hour and upon pressing the power button, Voila! it turned on. So first thing I tested was to see if it would charge, and it does NOT. I plugged many chargers I have around the house and even to the computer and none seems to register on the device, the computer doesn't detect a device being connected.
Now here comes the strange part. When I go into recovery or even the bootloader, the phone gets recognized no problem, I can even send commands to it through ADB. I'm suspecting something with the bootloader going on? What do you guys think?

[Q] Is my HTC One bricked?

Hello,
I have the HTC One (M7) from AT&T. The phone has never been rooted and I have not yet unlocked it bootloader. I have not done any of these modifications to it. I was simply using it when it turned off and then got really hot.
When I try to turn it on, the screen stays black even though it vibrates after 15 secs (like when it turns on). If I connect it to a wall charger the screen turns on with the battery icon and the red light blinking. I have drained the battery and tried the battery calibration trick (holding power and the vol + - buttons while using a bright light) and it has not worked.
When I plug it to my Windows PC it is not recognized except for today when it got recognized while I tried the battery calibration trick but the driver that was installed was something like this: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. I read in another thread that a user went through the same thin and some of the comments simply recommended him to take it to a store or that his motherboard was fried.
Is my phone bricked? Since I am not yet sure about this. And if not, is there a way to bring it back?

unfortunately QHSUSB_DLOAD mode means, as you said, a defective motherboard. You'll have to send the phone for repair.
sorry.
