Fairly new to this Rom flashing lark, so far have installed and am really enjoying Paranoid Android 2.16 but I would like to change the system font, as I don't like the one it comes with. Have tried a couple of Font Installer apps from the market, but they only lead to it not booting and having to reflash the rom.
I thought the point of custom roms was so you can change things to have them as you want? Why deny us this one (surely) simple thing?
Any help would be appreciated

I even have bought an app that installs additional fonts to the system.
And it's not even a root app... selecting a font is just a regular android feature.
Luckily i still can use my Rom Toolbox Pro App.
But with the other app i can select the font normally via settings...
and i don't have to reboot...
can anyone share the lg jb keyboard so i can use it on cm10.1 and also if its not much to ask instruct on how to install it

this one i use on the stock v20c rom, so if you are on stock you can try out, CM is also possible since the keyboard was integrated...correct me if i am wrong.
I just installed the JB keyboard on my Xperia Play running CM 10 and believe it or not works without a problem.
Edit: also it seems that it has some extra options in advanced settings. Like theme changing, One hand keyboard, split in landscape mode and Extend keyboard having the numbers above the QWERTY keys.
But the themes, some options and autocorrection does not work withouth the propper files for them.

Thanks for The feedback, i am actually using one of the 4 keyboard themes, quite nice. I will try to extract the theme apk and upload later, maybe you like to test. Is the path writing working? Which options are not working then?

So I installed your APK on my Xperia Play.
Autocorrection/Word Suggestion - Does work, it's just that I was on Google Now and it wasn't showing up. This also means that Auto Capitalize/Punctuation works aswell.
Touch Feedback - Sound works, Vibration or it doesn't or because the mecchanics on the two devices are different by hardware.
Handwriting - Works.
Path Keyboard - Works.
Keyboard Theme - Only Optimus. Selecting a different theme doesn't change, so I think the files are missing.
Hide Keyboard - Works.
One Hand Keyboard - Works.
Split keyboard - Doesn't work.
Extend keyboard - Works.
I transfered the APK file on the device and installed it right away, seemed to work.
Tho I tried to test it on 4X and it doesn't install, so I tried to replace it in the system/app folder and it removed compleatly the LG keyboard, tho I forgot to remove the .odex file and reboot. Might work but probably I did it wrong.
Edit: I might be wrong, but I think that by deodexing the .apk added these extra Advanced Options. On Stock LG they are missing and the theme doesn't change reguardless changing it from the Home Screen.
The official version, Google Keyboard arrived in the Play store today (AFAIK) - same as JB KB but seems more responsive and has some extra features.

Thank you for you answer
The link don't work, can you give another please ?
For the font, I'ill try the 3rd party
no, sorry, try searching the xda forums for ported task manager app, i took that link from note 2 topic
there's an xposed module (which is included in beanstalk) called per app fonts
as name implies it lets you choose fonts on a per app basis
In Andorid General Discussion forum here on XDA are a lots of fonts available and you can flash via CWM or TWRP. Taskmanagers are available on Play Store.
Flash and enjoy.

Hello,
I have an Xperia Z3 Compact and am looking for a way to change stock system app icons (ideally without using another launcher). I am aware you can use an apk tool to decompile, replace icons and recompile an app, but that doesn't work with system apps like Settings, Camera and Phone. Those cannot be dumped by an apk tool. Do I need root for this? How do I proceed? Please help :crying:

Hi, currently there are bunch of applications on the marketplace (e.g. Desktop VisualizeR) able to create custom shortcuts (i.e. allowing custom icons usage) on home screens.
As far as I know, however, rooted or not, there is no possibility to change icons system-wide, so they will stay the same in app-drawers, app pickers, task managers, etc. EDIT: Oh well, not for free!
If you, like me, find that icons for Sony applications are a bit dated yet you do not want to abandon their super fast launcher, you can always wait for the upcoming Lollipop update, which hopefully will bring us a UI overhaul

Hello guys, I'm going to show you how to get the most wanted emoji sets on your android devices running kitkat or earlier versions of android...
So lets start with the needed apps
You will need to download
this for the HTC set
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.monotype.android.font.free.emoji.color.htc
and this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.monotype.android.font.free.emoji.color.twitter
for the twemoji set
for samsung users or any rom with a built-in font changer
you can simply install them then choose the one you want from settings
...
As for AOSP users
you're gonna search your store for "iFont" app and install it then open it
go to "My" tap then "My installs"
you will see the fonts that you've installed earlier
for HTC choose "Emoji font 4"
for Twitter choose "Emoji font 6"
For users with a cm theme chooser
the font will be installed as a theme
you just gotta go to the theme chooser and choose it from the fonts category.
For others it will be installed as a system font so be careful with that as I'm not responsible for any boot loops or system crashes caused by changing the system font!!
Here's some screenshots for the result on my S3 running carbon rom.
Enjoy ?
