SuperSu binary manual update? - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Does anyone know what files to replace/permissions to set in the system image when updating SuperSU and busybox, and where to get these files?

Yes.

root:root
You extract them out of the SuperSU package.
Have a look at my attachment, this unzip to /system/xbin/

Thank you! I had to place the busybox file into both bin and xbin in order for busybox installer to recognize the updated version, but other than that, I followed your instructions exactly. So now my question is if I just updated the supersu binary to the latest version, why is supersu still telling me that I need to update the binary? Did you extract these from 2.46?
Two more questions: how did you extract them, and where did you get the version of busybox that you included in your previous post?

busybox is just in priv-app not in app - it works.
I don't know, why that update message comes up. It's the latests SU
You can open apk's like ZIP to extract. But you can find Update-ZIP to flash with recovery, to extract
That's the latest busybox I installed on an other android. Just moved to the System-Images.

How Can I update Busybox via update.zip?

Can someone tell me how I can update Busybox via Update.zip?
I make a new update.zip with the new Superuser and would like to add the new Busybox 1.18.
After some trys I give up. All seems ok but the needed files for the Speedfix are not there.
I mean mkfs.ext2.
Any ideas?
I think i have .apk then you just install it with/from the file manager, if you need?

Busybox Binary for SuperCharge Script 1.17.1

If you are trying to install the SuperCharger script and can't find a busybox installation equal to or less than 1.18.2 please find attached 1.17.1. You can install with a simple xcopy deployment on top of an existing busybox install. More than likely busybox installed to /system/xbin but you should check first. You can use an app like Root Checker to find the real location. After you have identified where it is installed simply remount the file system as r/w and copy the attached file over the busybox installation you found. I used the app Root Explorer to remount the file system r/w and copy of my busybox install.
Update: I could not attach the file as it was not of an acceptable file ext so here is a link:

Update: I forgot to mention that you need to make sure that you set execute permissions on the busybox binary after you copy it over...

Help unrooting

Need to load an app on my phone that can detect the presence of superuser.apk and su, so I'm trying to delete those items. I installed them by flashing a zip in recovery. However, due to the kernel level r/w protection on /system, I can't delete superuser or su by normal means (i.e., a root file explorer).
Anybody know how I can get rid of them? I assume I need some sort of a flashable zip, but haven't found one. Thanks.
Edit: Never mind. Figured out that if I just delete the /system folder from the SuperSU zip, the updater script automatically deletes all old superuser files, and then has no source for the new files. So basically it just removes SuperSU and su. I think that got the job done.

[GUIDE] Change SuperUser client in ROM.zip [OPTIMA-TEAM]

Hello guys,
Today I will show you a simple method to change Superuser Client - From ChainsDD's/Koush's SuperUser to chainsfire's SuperSU.
I personally prefer the SuperSU over SuperUser.
If you are unsure, you might want to read up on it.
For a basic idea, look here - http://getandroidstuff.com/superuser-vs-supersu-android-root-management-at-its-best/
So, if you're a ROM dev/porter, and would like to replace, this is what you need to do!
What you need
Latest SuperSU and binary - can be found here
The ROM you're working on!
WinRAR (or similiar)
5 minutes of time!
Instructions
Download the SuperSU.zip
Extract it!
From the common-folder copy the superuser.apk
Open your ROM's flashable .zip via WinRAR
Navigate to /system/app
Replace the superuser.apk from the .zip we extracted
Go to our extracted SuperSU folder
From the arm-folder copy su
Navigate through ROM.zip to /system/xbin
Replace the su
WinRAR will update the archive!
Profit!
In case the above doesn't work out for you, then also copy chattr and chattr.pie from arm-folder to /system/xbin of your ROM.zip
(Thanks to @F4uzan and @-CALIBAN666- for the tip!)
Thats it!
Enjoy!!
Nice tutorial.
Seems easy!
Sent from my IdeaTab A2107A-F using xda app-developers app
One suggestion :
On some ROM it's needed to copy chattr and chattr.pie from arm folder
Great guide, btw

There is no su folder in my device

Thanks for the useful app. I have a stupid problem hope anyone give me a solution.
My device is S-ON, TWRP, UNLOCKED, Android 5.0.2 I flashed SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip in TWRP, and use Root Checker checked my access, but when I want to add script file in "su.d" folder, I can't find the "su" folder in root directory, system folder or anywhere in MiXplorer/Root Explorer with root access, I even tried flash SuperSU again. Could anyone tell me why and how to add files to su folder? Thank you!
------
PS. I want su folder because I flashed AdAway_systemless_hosts_v2.zip but AdAway didn't work, also tried this but as I said, there is no su folder.
