RAC Note Lock - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tl;Dr long story short..
Bought the Note local, sold it, RAC lock happened, he returned it, now I'm here.
Is it possible to bypass the software rent a center lock? I'm intent on getting past it, device already has TWRP and custom ROM on it.
I'm not returning it for the $100 they give you because I could still flip it for parts...

If it's a T-Mobile Note 4 (N910T), try flashing the stock firmware with ODIN: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/46452/N910TUVU1COD6_N910TTMB1COD6_TMB/

[Q] Quick question on switching to unlocked SM-N910G ROM

Hey everyone, I'm not necessarily new to the rooting/custom rom scene, I spent hours messing around with my Note 2, but I've got a quick question because I can't find a straight forward answer.
Basically I'm Australian and I own the SM-N910G variant of the phone, it's NOT locked and I have no logo on my boot screen. The 5.0.1 update for the 910G was released today, hazzah! But that's only on the non-carrier OTA, Vodafone has just stated "Failed testing, contacting Samsung" now due to both Vodafone AND Samsung being slow in nature, this could take weeks. I'm also SICK of Vodafone's bloatware and extreme delay with updates (over a year for the Note 2's 4.4.4), and I'm not willing to do any extreme modifying to this phone unlike my Note 2 because I'm still paying this phone off on my contract, last thing I need is to be left with a bricked or unsatisfactory phone when I'm still paying off.
Now for anyone who doesn't want to read all that,
MY QUESTION: Am I able to flash the stock SM-N910G 5.0.1, and change any future OTA's to be the ones straight from Samsung without voiding my warrenty or increasing my flash count or voiding my future OTA updates. And if I can, what's the best way to go about it?
Because I'm sick of waiting 6 months for Samsung to bring updates to Australia, then another 6 months for Vodafone to finish "testing" it.
Yes you can always through odin and as far as I'm aware it won't trip knox. As long as you don't root. Others in AUS tread flashed Indian via odin and it didn't trip knox
I was on my phone and didn't check the stickies, I apologize for being an idiot and will repost this in the correct sub-section.

Note 5 Problems?

Guys im gonna buy a used galaxy note 5 without warranty, what should i check before buy? Any specific faults with the phone? i cant return after buying.
Go to a sprint store to get the IMEI checked this way they can add it right then and can't be marked lost or stolen after you buy.

Can I trade in a device with a custom ROM on it for the note 9?

Pretty much the question in the title.
I've got a note 3 that's dying rather quickly and has been mostly a pain.
The final price is 500 euros via carrier so the deal is massively good.
Yes / No.
Here i describe if you are going direct through Samsung and the below is taking from the UK site T&C but most likely be the same worldwide
If you have not rooted and not tripped Knox then yes if you put a stock rom back on it. If you have tripped Knox then most def No as its stated in the T&C's
Trade in terms n conditions

Where do I find the trade in value? I have an old Note just collecting dust. I have safestrap on it but think I can put it back to stock.

Shop Samsung app or Samsung's website. Select trade option then it gives you a list of phones and the rebate amount.
Sent from my Galaxy Note8 using XDA Labs
I'll look that up. I want to be able to root if that is ever an option but Verizon is offering a BOGO deal as well. The unlock version would be a better bet for rooting or no?
I don't see the Note 3 as a trade in option.

Lol... your not going to see root on the US snapdragons. Unlocked or carrier, BL is locked either way.
Root hasn't appeared on the S9 yet so unlikely the note will get it either.
You want root you either go exynos or the N9600 unlocked snapdragon (it should get root at least)

Question : Is the Note 8 (SM-N950F/FD) the same as Note 8 (SM-N950F/DS..?

Hello, I've been flashing these Note's since back when Darthstalker was RULING the Note Series, ( One of the BEST to do it ), however, ever since T-Mobile decided to lock their bootloaders I've switched to the OnePlus. I am thinking about purchasing the International Note 8 (SM-N950F) because from the research I've done I've learned that this is the variant to get, I've also read that the Note 8 (SM-N950F/FD) can also be Rooted and Flashed via TWRP, However, when I search online to purchase that version (SM-N950F/FD) all I find is the Note 8 (SM-N950F/DS), are those 2 model numbers the same, or can it be flashed the same as the (SM-N950F and (SM-N950F/FD)? I ask cause i don't want to purchase the Note 8 SM-N950F/DS and not be able to flash it, or worse BRICK the Device.. If anyone can shed light to these questions i would gladly appreciate it, community and its yearssss of serving us enthusiast...!!! God Blessssss...!!!! In short, is the SM-N950F/FD the same as the SM-N950F/DS..????
They use the same firmware.
And T-Mobile didn't decide to start looking the bootloaders. ALL the US Galaxy phones have locked bootloaders. Even the factory unlocked, unbranded version you buy from Samsung.
T mobile and sprint were the last ones to lock up there boot loader, the ONLY 2 carriers that had locked boot loaders back then was AT&T + Verizon. So it was T mobile + Sprint that were that LAST Phone Carriers to Lock there Boot loader, this is a Fact, from the S7 and up is when they Started, ask anyone,,, thanks for your response Either way, Blessss....
N950F/DS is dual sim model where N950F is a single sim model. Aside from that everything else is identical
