Link2SD forces bootloop (lollipop) - Sony Xperia ZR

Hallo everyone!
I tryed link2sd for my xperia zr.
I make 2 partitions on my sd card. 32 GB SD and for link2sd I make it 2 GB formated with 4ext.
I normaly boot and install link2sd. After I started it and made a script to sdext partition with 4ext.
Then link2sd asked me for reboot and suddenly screen went black.
No booting possible with insert sd card. Bootloop apairs.
Booting without sd works and after deinstalling link2sd, everything seems to be ok.
What can I do, to run link2sd on my XZR under Lollipop (5.0.2) without bootloop?
Greetings Lemmi.

For link2sd to work you need 2 apps apps. Download busybox from the play store and install it. Reboot. Then download init.d toggler/ universal init.d from the play store and enable init.d by running the app. Reboot. Make sure your second sd card partition is formatted and then mount the partition with link2sd.
Works without any problems for me.

Do it really works so with Lollipop?
I heard that I have to wait for a remount boot fix and then it should work well. Will be installed with the new dual recovery that will come out in a view days or so.
What doas ini.d make? Dont understand this app.

Just tryed it now, but at the time I make the second partition with ext4, my XZR gets into bootloop.
So I think it wont work for me. Have to wait for bootloop fix.

Oh .... Didnt know about that remount fix thats needed. Im on unlocked bootloader with custom kernel already having twrp by xenius9, so maybe thats why it worked for me ....

I am on looked boot loader, stock rom rooted.
Dual Recovery don't work right now and causes bootloop and for linktosd I need this remount reboot fix.

[Nook Color] Cannot return to stock from Cyanogen

So I rooted my Nook with autonooter 3.0.0, I followed all the directions entirely. It worked perfectly, I liked it but wanted to try other stuff. Then I successfully installed Honeycomb v4 on my Nook, I tried it out, but didn't like it, I'll wait until later as its more developed. Then I installed CM7 on my Nook. Its nice, but for some reason a lot of my important apps force close on me. So I thought would just return to stock and then go to autonooter. I tried the method found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
So I don't know if it matters, but I remember formatting boot, system, and data in CWR during the installations of Honeycomb, and also formatting the system and data in CM7 and also in trying to return to stock. So in each of the installations I followed all of the directions perfectly.
Ok, so here is my problem. After I try to return to stock, I try to boot up my Nook, it goes to the Touch the Future of Reading screen, then to the screen with the 'n' on it and the adobe message at the bottom comes up. However, it will not go passed this. It hangs and I cannot fix it. I have tried the 8 reboots which does reinstall the original firmware, however when its complete and reboots it does not boot, it does the same thing I just described.
Please help, if I have left out any information just ask and I will fill in the details.
There is a recovery zip on the development forum. Boot into cwr and flash... that should do the trick... hopefully.

Doesnt he need to format the partions with a ext3 cwr before flashing or will the recovery do that?

Yeah, I'm beginning to think I do have to fix up the partitions because everything I do is just giving me more hang.
Can anyone help with that?
Get CWR 3.0.5...
Write the SD card image to your uSD...
Copy repartition-boot-with-stock.zip to the root of the SD card...
Decide if you want to restore to 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 and copy the appropriate nook-complete-restore-1.0.x.zip to root of the SD card....
Boot off the SD card in your NC
since you say you have formatted boot... shouldn't ever need to do that btw...
Format Boot... System... Data... and cache...
Install the repartition boot zip file... then the complete system restore from SD card.
yeah.. once you reformat with CWR 3.0.0.5 you should be able to do the re-partition boot flash and then restore the image.
I just got back that way as well.

Thanks for all the help! I'm going to try this now. And I'm guessing it is, but will it be ok to use CWR 3.0.0.6 and boot with that from the SD card?
It needs to be CWR 3.0.0.5 in my experience.
3.0.0.6 supports EXT4 partitions and won't format them back to EXT3.. as long as they are EXT4, the nook will not boot into the stock rom.
The stock kernel doesn't support EXT4.. so it hangs just before it loads the system files..
If you wipe the partitions using 3.0.0.5 and install the full recovery image for 1.01 you should be a-ok.
Alright I got it! You guys are the best! Thanks for the help! Now I just need to re-root and I'm good to go! Thanks again!
Oh and yeah I used 3.0.0.5, that may have been the problem all along because I kept trying to fix with 3.0.0.6. Thanks!

[Q] Darktremor's app2sd?

Okay so my Droid is running okay, but I would like to have more memory for apps. So I figured, why not just use the app2sd script from DT after partitioning my card in CWM like I did my Ascend. I tried these steps:
1. In the CWM recovery (2.5.0.1 and 3.1.0.2) there is no option ANYWHERE to partition the SD card like in the 2.x.x.x CWM on my Ascend.
2. I partitioned in ROM Manager and chose 512 Partition with 128 MB Swap. The phone reboots and partitions the SD, and I checked in MiniTool Partition Wizard to make sure, there was a ext3 partition and a linux swap.
3. I move all apps to Internal memory, went in to CM Settings and allowed application moving.
4. Flashed DT's beta 4 script in recovery and it wouldnt boot, had to clear dalvik cache.
5. Get back in and found that the apps had moved no where. I check the sd-ext folder in Root Explorer and it said empty folder. a2sdgui does not work, if I change something, it just changes back.
6. Reflashed, tried S2E (simple2ext) and had the same issue, it isnt recognizing the ext partition.
7. Reflashed and tried various other settings with no luck.
What should I do? I really dislike having 15mb of internal memory free. Any help would be loved
Here is the info:
Was using the latest CM7 build but now I tried it on SteelDroid 9... same issue
Got view but no replies? Need some help here....
delete all previous scripts and try link2sd. i have been using it successfully.

hey guys,need help!!

i was running my salsa rooted with CWR and data-2-sd_ext3 done exactly the same way as given in bigbear's noob guide everything was running smooth used it for almost 2 months, but yesterday when i started my device after it was powered off due to empty battery(nothing new happens to me all he time) it was stuck in a bootloop. so this what i did to get out off it
1 i went into recovery mode and tried to restart the device from there, but was stuck in the same bootloop
2 i had backups in my sd card so decided to do a restore, but during the tripple wipe in the wipe data/format there was some problem with mounting sd card so the commands came like error mounting sd card, skipping format, data wiped.i ignored and went forward to wipe cache and dalvic and both was successful. then when i selected restore in backup and restore menu it failed and the command came like E: cant mount /sd
3 after trying to restore a few times with no use i chose to reboot the device but when i rebooted from recovery it gave me the same bootloops(even after the triple wipes)
4 after that i removed the memory card out of the device and then powered on and it booted normally.i also have the superuser and the fb button which i revamped using button rewamper is doing what i made it to do (use as a power button).all my phone data is gone(i don't care)
Now i am confused as what should i do next
should i format the sd card and will the format also delete the partition which i made,if yes after the format when i will make the partition again and put the sd card again in the device will i have to flash the data-2-sd ext3 again (i think it should be there because the root and the F button rewamp is there(not the app but the function))
plzz guys help,i am confused

how can i flash ROM when there is a problem mounting sd card? and i wanted to know if someting wrong with the sd card can cause bootloops,as the phone booted fine without it. I think i will format the sd card make the partition again put it back in and flash data-2sd ext3 (which i am not sure off ),my questions are
1 will the sd card format remove the partition which i made earlier?
2 will i have to flash the data-2-sd ext3 again after popping in the sd card?
1.YES, if you format it would remove the EXT3 Partition
2.You would have to make FAT32 Primary Partition and EXT3 Primary Partition Secondary in Mini-tool
2.Yes, flash the script after setting up the partition
Done guys
did the sd card format using minitool partition wizard removed all the partitions, then made it again.then installed bussybox version 1.18,got the data-2-sd ext3 into the sd card flashed it using CWR,and rebooted using CWR and done.
srry BB i should have given it a shot before harassing you ,TY anyways:victory:

UP UP UP

I have ROOT but now what?

Hello
I have managed to root my phone and confirmed this with a free app on Google.Play but now what do I do?
I read somewhere that I need ClockworkMod and I followed a tutorial but the link was dead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Dead link for clockworkmod 5
http://[url="http//forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=743333&d=1318051346
I am not exactly sure what Clockworkmod is and why I need it.
My plan is to be able to backup my Phone operating system (ROM I think it is called)
And I also want to put all my apps stored on the phone's memory onto an SD card. This is because I keep getting warnings that my internal memory is full.
I would appreciate any help or advice
Cheers

May I ask how you can tell if the Backup process has been successful?
Is there a way to verify the backup?
I only ask as I have tried to make a backup and got the message that could not mount SD-ext
And that the backup my not be supported by my device. The information went very quickly so I could not get the info exactly.

1. Your backup = ALL your current rom data
2. Umm... I've never had a problem using CMW :S
3. Sd-ext IS NOT sdcard, so no problem if you haven't got sd-ext partition the script always finish telling you that you haven't got a sd-ext and skipping automatically this step , that's all. No problem at all
Hello
Before I did the clockworkmod, I partitioned my SD card into two FAT32 partitions. One was for my data and a smaller partition was to be in preparation of learning how to transfer all my apps to the SD card.
I was worried that partitioning the SD card had caused complications.

What did you use to do partitions?CWM?
I use minipartition tools (a windows free tool) and is to easy
Now you can use Link2sd e.g.
If I were you I'd create an ext4 (as sd-ext partition) instead of create 2 Fat32. Because ext4 can be used with int2ext scripts too
If you want you can read this q&a thread about link2sd/int2ext to get more useful info

Hello
I did indeed use minipartition tools to create two partitions. I have a 16Gb card. I saved 2Gb for the second partition. I will now format that partition to ext4.

format with ext4
mount system
flash this script and hurray work done
HIT THANKS MAN
So this method works for sure? On the Ace is possible to make only a 512mb ext4 partition to use it with int2ext, right? Because every 500mb partition is needed 100mb of internal storage.

Yes, for sure!!
...no, you can do a partition with the size that you want. This script mount your /sd-ext as your /data partition so you can use all space you want in your sd-ext partition
I had 1GB partition and worked without problems with int2ext+ script
