Hi all,
I am based in India and had purchased my HTC One dual sim online (from Ebay). Now i believe i have the Chinese version of the phone as the "Settings->About Phone" doesnt have a "Software Update" option. My phone is currently running on the following softwares:
Android version: 4.2.2
HTC Sense version: 5.0
Need help to update the phone to the latest versions Android Lollipop and Sense 6.0
I am a complete rookie and thus would appreciate a step-by-step, jargon-free reply.
Thanks in advance!
Luella

It's probably not available in your region yet... I don't think it reached the Americas so I think you may have to wait for the 4.3 rollout which is due to start at the end of this month
Hello,
I bought HTC Desire C from UK about couple of weeks ago and unlocked it using the IMEI based service so my dad can access it in India.
Problem I have got is, now I cannot install whatsapp on the phone it always comes back with the error "Your device isn't compatible with this version error".
Below is the phone information:
Android Version: 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version: 4.0
Software Number: 2.01.401.6 (I think this is ROM version and it's STOCK ROM because I haven't flashed it)
HTC SDK API Level: 4.21
HTC Extension Version:HTCExtension_403_1_GA_9
Kernel Version: 3.0.16-g34e63f6root"abm032 (hash)1
Baseband Version: 10.17.98.09H_1.19.98.02
Network information is all okay because I can see operator name, signal strength, service state etc.
Can someone please help me with this because I really want to install whatsapp in next couple of days before I go back. Thank you.
P.S. I haven't rooted my phone or anything and to be honest I don't want to root it because I'll be going back to UK in few days and my dad is quite new to smart phone so it will be difficult for me to do anything like this.
Solved
I downloaded whatsapp from whatsapp.com/android and installed the apk file and it worked.
same problem here. download-link at the whatsapp-website brings me to the play store. there appears same notification (not compatible with this device... )

I have a desire c unlocked with giff gaff sim that got update 2.01.401.6 today. whats app was on the phone before update and still runs after update. Have you restarting phone as that can fix problems but so many people forget that trick. whats app should run though.

Go to play store on phone not the website and install just in case your on a pc logged in on a different user and not the specific phone user account Google account. Strange your getting problems as it does work fine.

Hi,
I just bought HTC ONE Dual Sim. I didn't know that you cannot update the software prior to buying it.
I stuck with it. Is there a way to update the phone. I just an ordinary girl. I don't really understand the technical part.
Is there a video how to do it? Is there hope on updating my phone to 4.2.2?
Thanks
Olive

Your phone will get updated OTA to 4.2.2 . Just check for updates ( or wait for awhile. You will get a notification about a system update)
There no software update menu in the phone. So I cannot check it. What do you mean by OTA updates? Will it automatically pop up in the future that there is an update?
HTC One DUAL SIM Lollipop
Hi,
Any information on the official release of Android 5 for HTC One DUAL SIM 802d ?
Which is the best (stable, good battery, performance and everything working) custom ROM (Android 5.0 or above) available for this device ?
Hey guys,
I have an HTC One M8 831C Sprint ( Android 6.0 ). The device was bought from USA. Right now Im in India. When I put on any SIM card it will say "Invalid SIM Card: 4G services are unavailable as the sim/uicc is invalid.". I saw some posts regarding how to unlock lollipop devices. Can someone help me in unlocking the marshmallow version? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, follow this tutoriales, if the insertcoin rom don't work, use any other Android 4.4 rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one-m8/general/sim-unlock-s-off-t3072722
The current android version is marshmallow. Will that create any problems?
I know i should just look on the forums for instructions but I have very very bad luck with rooting.
If someone can provide me with help it will be much appreciated!
I am running a HTC desire 626, its model number is HTCD200LVW. It am using Verizon on the phone.
I am having trouble finding the stock rom for the device for verizon. On the website for the HTC it says "Please note: ROM Downloads are not available for Verizon Wireless Devices. However select Verizon Wireless devices can be updated using the HTC Sync Manager software. "
I refuse to ever do a root for a device unless I have the rom to reinstall the stock rom if I brick it.
if what I am saying is not clear:
The phone info
HTC Desire 625
model: HTCD200LVW
Phone carrier: Verizon
Android version: 6.0.1
I will only root this phone if i can fine the stock rom for the Android 6.0.1 Rom from Verizon
Thanks for any help that is possible!
