Stuck at Booting after changing build.prop - LG Optimus L90

Hello guyz,
I think so I have messed up the system file while doing some modification.
I was trying to add the on screen navigation key command to build prop. But the problem started when I tried to replace the original build.prop file when I found the command which I added for on screen button was not working. So I just simply replaced the backup file and rebooted the phone but It got stuck at the LG logo.
I am able to boot into recovery but I don't know what to do now.
Please help me out I don't want to loose my data.
Thanks.

I resolved the issue. I changed the file permission and it worked.

[Q] boot screen with cognition 2.3b8

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not. I searched through the forums but didn't find anything about it. Can you change the boot screen on this version of the rom?
You just need to replace the "bootanimation.zip" package in /system/media
hmmm, i tried to do it with a root explorer. I may not of done it right, ill try it again
I used super manger, I realized at first that it wasnt using root permison. fixed that, coppied it there, reboot, and still didnt see the custom animation. any thing else im missing?
well i retried it, and copied to some /local directory and vala it worked! thanks guys

[Q] Corrupted settings.db causes boot loop

Hi,
I just made my SGS boot looping by editing some settings in /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db. CyanogenMod came back with FC loop of the Phone app so I deleted 2 entries from the db. Before that I (thought I) made a backup of the settings.db. After the Phone's FC was gone I replaced the edited settings.db file and rebooted (since I did not like the changes to Status Bar Widget Buttons). Now I am stuck in a boot loop. Reflashing the rom does not help.
Does anyone have a hint on this? I am trying to avoid wiping as long as I can.
Thanks a million.
Now this is a little embarassing. I just renamed the settings.db to settings.db.bak while it was boot looping. The file was immediatly recreated and the phone booted without a glitch.
I'm having the same problem. How did you get yours resolved?
Edit: I see the red writing now. I wonder how you edited the file while it was in the boot loop. Using adb maybe?
Edit #2: Using shell commands. Now I got it. Lots of google searching.

HELP - Black screen on XT1060 5.1

Ok, I dun goofed. Phone was working fine but I tried to add a line to build.prop and now the phone will show the boot logo but then goes black. I made a copy of the file first and tried putting the old one back with the TWRP file manager, but it's still doing the same thing.
I need help with this fast, my gf is going to kill me if I don't get he phone working again soon. :/
Can someone post a flashable zip of the 5.1 build.prop please. I'm just assuming this will fix it. I've tried extracting the system.img to get it but I obviously don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!
After sitting here with high blood pressure for 45 minutes I fixed it. I just pulled and pushed the files with ADB. I guess using ES file explorer to play with system files is a big NO. Lesson learned. :/

[Solved] Deleted Gatekeeper.pattern.key now cant get a screenlock

ok so, I was locked out of my phone as I had reset it and then the pattern wasn't being recognized so I used and aroma file manager to delete the gatekeeper.pattern.key and now I am stuck without a lock screen.
Can anyone please help thanks
Update: see comments on first page
I decided to move on to a custom ROM (FOS) dirty installed which kept everything as is and fixed my problem.
It was easy, just set up pin pattern and password again.
The lockscreen will show up again.
Sorry I should have clarified that I couldn't access screenlock
Delete locksettings.db, locksettings.db-wal, locksettings.db-shm from the same directory. and restart. it will solve your problem.

[LOGCAT] Can't set any secure screen lock

I was using a ROM with Android 8.1 but after returning to the NovaOS (Nougat) ROM whenever I try to add any secure lock screen method (PIN / Pattern / Pass) the settings application force closure. After trying to set Pattern method the settings app just force close, but after trying to set PIN/Pass method it actually set the pin but also force close and I cannot try again to set others methods because it ask for the pin and keeps closing.
This happens in any TW or Stock based ROM. But in AOSP/LineageOS ROMs works normally.
Things I already have tried:
* Full wipe
* Reinstall at least 5 different ROMs
* Installing ROMs with and without root/gapps
* Format /system and /data
* Encrypt and decrypt phone/Microsd card.
* Changing Kernel
* "Fix contexts" in TWRP
* Smash the phone to a wall
I do not know what I can do to solve this problem, I don't want to use my phone without a secure lock/fingerprint or use Oreo ROMs, can someone help me?
Maybe try flash stock firmware using odin first and then try other roms.
Even after flashing Stock Rom through Odin the problem persists, omg...
Tried flashing Stock and doing full wipe after too but no sucess...
I think some protected/secure partition are messed up, because I noticed now my wifi password are not being saved after a reboot too, and after I flashed Stock Rom via Odin and phone reboots to Stock Recovery to finish the process, at this point I get a error in recovery like "cannot find /misc partition", I dont know if this is normal or not.
Here is more detailed logs from adb logcat, honestly I'm starting to get afraid of this not being possible to solve, please guys, I need help, there so much experts and experienced people here, you are my last hope

Hi guys,
I have the same problem and I have not been able to give the permissions to the efs folder, I'm using root eplorer and giving rw permissions.
The efs folder handles these 0771 permissions and I try to change it to 0775 but when restarting the phone the changes are not applied.
please help:crying:
Same issue here, is it possible to make the change persistent through reboots? I can't set screen locks :/
