Can't delete photos on XT1096 with MOFO - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys, I have a MOFO "rooted" device, trying to delete photos. Using the Gallery or Photo app the pictures are being deleted (at least that's what the app is saying). In Photos I go to Trash, empty it, and all pics are gone. I have Moto X connected to PC via USB - the DCIM/Camera folder is empty. However Storage tells me that I'm still using 2.5G for photos. Once I reboot all the pictures are there again, like I never even deleted them. When I try to delete them using a file manager I get an error message that it can't be deleted (which makes sense because of permissions).
So how do I delete photos w/o flashing the image again? I tried wiping cache but of course that didn't help either.

Problem transferring images then viewing

Very new to the NC which I am running with CM7.0.0 encore from SD
So today I tried to move a folder of images using Samba. Everything seemed to transfer fine as the folder and images appeared on the SD under pictures folder.
When I used the gallery app to view the images the folder was not there. So I used file manager to look at the folder and expanded it. I opened the folder and a picture and then file manager just froze on the image.
I rebooted and opened Gallery again and the folder was there but when I tried to open it view the images I kept getting a force close. File Manager also kept creating a forced close. Rebooted and the same so I went back into Samba and deleted the folder.
Anyone have any suggestions to what may be going wrong?
I find the file manager app preloaded with gaaps seems to be lacking and wonder what else is recommended.
Came across a post recommending Quickpic app and loaded it and must say it seems much better than the Gallery app.
Still would be interested in hearing what others consider a terrific file manager app.

[Q] Fix internal storage permissions?

Okay so I don’t know whether problem is actually with the permissions so I’ll just post the details below.
My phone is rooted and I have TWRP.
I had a lot of apps on my phone and it was getting slow. So I decided to factory reset it. I went to the settings and factory reset the phone. While rebooting, the TWRP screen flashed and the phone reboot. But some of the folders in the internal storage were deleted. The Camera and WhatsApp images folders were still there. The Downloads and Bluetooth folders were deleted. I use Quick Pic gallery app. I could see the Camera and WhatsApp images via Quick Pic. But when I navigated to that particular folder using a file manager, the folders were empty. Even when I connected the phone to my PC using a data cable, the camera folder was empty. I know the files are there because I could see the size of the internal storage. When I open Quick Pic, I get a message “not an error (code 0): could not open database in read/write mode“. I can’t copy any files to the internal storage also. When I tried to copy a song to the ringtones folder in internal storage, the copy failed with the message, “Open Failed: EACCESS (Permission denied)”.
So I did some research and thought that the problem was with the internal storage permission. So I went to TWRP and clicked on “Fix Permissions”. The phone got stuck at the moto boot animation. So I downloaded the stock ROM and flashed it. The phone boots now but the old problem is still there. Apps keeps force closing. Whenever I take a pic, I get a message saying the gallery app has stopped. Instagram and Smart Voice Recorder keeps force closing as soon as I open them.
I don’t know what to do. Please help me. If there’s any other info that I need to provide, please let me know.
Thanks a lot!

Recover data

I was copying files into my pc, and i pressed delete for the selection but it deleted the whol folder (camera) is there a way i can recover the data? Any specific guaranteed software? And my phone is not rooted
Help please !
So you deleted the camera folder from your phone with your PC accidently? If so that's probably gone for good. You could check the trash in the gallery app but I doubt it will be there. Maybe the recycle bin in your PC too.
Did you not have anything backing up your pictures in the background like Google photos, Dropbox, One drive...?

EMUI Gallery App issue

Hello All,
Since long time i facing some issue related to Gallery App. Below is the description.
On Memory Card there is path /Memory Card/Xender/images/abc.jpg. In Gallery it's showing correct path, in 'Other' section of Gallery there is folder named 'images' and in that abc.jpg is showing.
I move /Memory Card/Xender/images/abc.jpg to new location /Memory Card/Pictures/My/abc.jpg and deleted the folder /Memory Card/Xender and all it's content.
Now, when i open Gallery in 'Other' section i can still see folder named 'images' (which was in /Xender/ and i have already deleted it) and in that abc.jpg is still showing. However when i check properties/details of abc.jpg in Gallery it shows me correct path which is /Memory Card/Pictures/My/abc.jpg.
Though folder has been deleted and image file has been moved to different location, why Gallery is showing that folder and image in that folder.
To resolve this i have to clear data of Gallery App and due to which all highlights and discover gets deleted. Which is really sad..
Can someone please help me to resolve this issue or provide the workaround without losing any data.
Reboot dosen't help, also tried to clear Cache of Gallery App.

Rooting without oem unlocking and without resetting the phone

Hello,
Is there a way to root galaxy note 9 north american model with latest updates installed without resetting the phone and without oem unlocking?
I am trying to recover accidently deleted photos from camera folder which I didnt sync anywhere, they are not in trash folder. I tried many data recovery apps but I couldnt recover deleted photos from camera folder.
Now I am trying to root the phone so I can give root access data recovery apps for deeper recovery.
Any help would be really appreciated. I hope I can recover those photoes.
the way of digital storage works, yes it's true, files are never really deleted, it's only marked for deleted.
but when it's marked as deleted, that space could easily be replaced with other files.
i think, if you use your phone more than hours after that specific photo gets deleted, your activities using smartphone (chats, browsing, video call) is downloading / creating caches and files into your phone, and it could replacing your deleted file in that specific space.
even rooting your phone is considered as some activities that could replacing that deleted file with other things.
