Dear All ,
I have searched XDA , there is some information on Link2SD here and there , but no specific thread about Link2Sd and Lollipop 5.0.2 on Xperia Z/ZR/ZL , so decided to open one.
I have Xperia ZR (C5502) , Stock Lollipop 5.0.2 rooted with Locked Bootloader.
Busybox Installed , SuperSU installed and everything works fine. But unable to use Link2SD , the same issue ..........bootloop after creating a double partion in SD Card (1st ----- exfat 2nd------ext4) then creation of Link2SD script , then reboot , then bootloop.
Also tried initd , univarsal initd , but problem remains.
Before that I have successfully installed and used Link2SD on stock Kitkat 4.4.4 rooted.
So if anyone can give some guidance, I think same will be applied on Z/ZL also
I have same problem, same configuration.
In my case the bootloop apears when a had made the second partition with ext4 (2GB) and I try to reboot. Only without this partition my XZR boots normaly.
Nut is making a dualrecovery with a remount bootfix included. But its not finished right now. Maybe this could be a solution.
Lp has move to SD.....no need for L2SD, plus that app destroys cards
With Move to SD I have only 600 MB spare space on internal memory. Need more, cause I need the apps.
thanks to all
i am waiting for nut dual recovery then
and yes Lollipop has native App2SD , but that does not as complete as Link2SD
Native App2SD can not move an application completely (incl dex file , obb , cache etc) External SD which Link2SD can
Stock Lollipop Have App2SD Feature But I Cant See It In My Phone How Can I Do That
Tried the old remount reboot fix, but it seems not to work on lollipop.
I am now on about 600 MB free space in internal and after a while my XZR warns me of low memory. But need the apps I have installed.
Everything is transfert to sd with app2sd thats integrated, but it is not enough. With Kitkat I dont had this problems, but wont go back.

Anyone knows NUT latest news about dual recovery and remountrebootfix for Lollipop 5.0.2 ?
Thanks
New version of NUT dual recovery has been released , any chance to get a new version of Remountrebootfix so that we can use Link2SD again on XZR Lollipop 5.0.2
thanks.

In the patchenotes stay something about that. Normally it should work now. Maybe you can try it and post success here
The fix should be integrated in the new version I think.

How big is your partition for link2sd?
Mine is actually 2 GB but thinking about making it bigger. Hope it will work.

Hi
I am on Xperia Z1, rooted, locked bootloader, .757, SDFix access fix, with dual recovery. I have an app call Link2SD and it requires to have a second partition on my sd card. They said to use a software called MiniTool... My question is, how do I proceed to partition my SD card without breaking anything like the installed Dual Recovery?

partitioning your SD card will not break dual recovery
However, I think you may find link2sd wont work on Z1
I never managed to get it to work on any FW with my Z1
and TBH, I don't really find the need for it anymore. I used it on my x10 and Xperia T but I have never run out of space yet on my z1

I've successfully partitioned my SD Card with secondary primary parition set to ext2. Link2SD (linking) works except it doesn't link Android/data/ and Android/obb/ I 've contacted the developer to ask about it.

got any reply/solution from developer?
Well the next two days he provided the update to paid users for the /data part. But apparently /obb not yet. He briefly explained to me /obb is complicated because it is not linkable natively.
Hi MrLascivious,
How do you handle to get link2sd working in your phone?
I have an Xperia Z1 compact (original stock, kitkat 4.4.4 and rooted, bootloader lock), but link2sd can´t even mount the second partition.
It says: "App2SD is not supported by your device...."
Any idea?

I am not sure about your Z1 compact. I only have Z1 and KitKat 4.4.2. Have you tried asking the developer of link2sd? Mine found the partition so everything was straightforward as I remember.
Anyone make link2sd run on fw 9.2.a.1.210 or 2.5?
I'm not able to, i tried every type of partition, fat32, ext2, ext3. After that link2sd creates script and reboot, xperia v does bootloop

Same for me here (good thing I used the forum search before posting). It worked flawlessly under the Android 4.1 firmware, but after updating to 4.3, it does not anymore. Creating the boot script caused bootloops. And now, after using the phone without the script, link2sd cannot create one anymore (not exactly sure why). I guess we have to wait for 4.4 to give it another shot
No available internal memory, no new app but yes update
Hi there, I would to link at this thread to solve a critic problem on my rooted phone (lt25i)
Link2sd correct install. Everythings work correctly.
BUT
When new apps rise to the amout of space about the internal memory, Android 4.3 think there isn't space to get any new app, indeed updates are allowed.
I have almost 600mb free in the internal memory.
How to bypass this code?
Thankyou so much to anyone answer and want to beat this freedomless of jellybean.
Hi everyone!
I wanted to put some big apps on my SD card, and I thought I can use Link2SD for this, like I have succesfully done it on my old HTC Desire HD.
Today I tryed the same as with my old phone, but it ends with a bootloop. So maybe someone can help me to use it on my XZR.
First of all I rooted my Xperia ZR with Towelroot succesful, then installed supersu. Everything works well. Bootloader is still closed.
After that I partitionated my SD Card like on the old phone. 2 GB should be enough for the sdext partition I want to use with link2sd. I formatted it with 4ext system.
Now I installed link2sd and make the mount script and made a reboot ------> Bootloop!
I deleted the made partiton to solve the bootloop and deinstalled link2sd, So I can use my ZXR again. But I need space in intern memory.
What can I do? Does Link2SD dont work with Xperia ZR?
This was the reason of root, to run such a programm. Maybe someone can help me.
Greatings Lemmi.
Dear Lemmi,
you are not the only one with this problem. My Xperia V also goes into bootloop since 4.3 (before it worked fine). However, using the search I found the following fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/general/towel-root-steps-to-root-t2789990
I did not try it yet, but others did and it sounds very promising. If you had luck with that, just post it here or there so other users can profit from that information

Are there any other method to install apps in external sd?

In desperate need for Link2SD on ZR, is there a way?
How to get Link2SD to work:
When you have root install the remount reboot fix befor you try to make the boot script with link2sd!!!!! After installing the fix it will work fine!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...b-definitive-root-remount-reboot-fix-t2317432
Thats as far i know the only and easyiest way to get Link2SD running on Xperia ZR
Apparently it fixed my problem. I owe you my life. THANKS!
is there anyway to make link2sd work if i installed reboot-remount fix after creating the boot script with link2sd?
as i didn't know about reboot fix, so i installed link2sd first and created the boot script.and as a result it goes into bootloop.then i came across the reboot fix.but after successfully applying the reboot fix, it's still not working.goes into bottloop.i tried both ext2, ext3 parition.
phone : xperia ZR (4.4.4 rooted) stock recover, rom, kernel.locked bootloader.
Hello everyone!
I flashed my XZR from Kitkat to Lollipop a view days ago.
After flashing I had 1 GB lower internal memory left, than a had before.
In detail, I had about 2 GB of memory left, when I started the download over OTA. The file loaded on my XZR and than it flashed. After end of flashing and reboot, only 800 MB to 1 GB internal memory are free now.
Could it be, that lollipop need 1 GB more internal memory as kitkat? I am confused now, cause I need more space in internal memory.
What happend and what can I do?
Greetings Lemmi.
Yes, lollipop needs more internal memory. Because lollipop is ART based, kitkat was Dalvik...
But 1GB, that is very much cause of only 8GB internal storage.
Try moving the apps to your SD. That's why I did to free up space from the internal storage.

Yes I tryed this already, but it dont helps much. Maybe I have to change to another smartphone with more than only 8 GB of internal memory.
Dont wanna go back to Kitkat, cause I think Lollipop runs smoother and better.
Think about rooting, but I think not everything works well right now on XZR and Lollipop with root and maybe there is no working recovery for it and the secong is I dont wanna open bootloader.
Maybe Link2SD could work and solve this storage problem. Aktually the app2sd function isnt enough on my side.

I have now installed about 100 apps (phone say it took 4,39GB - 900MB Free). After 60 apps installed phone say full storage, so i try scan by Xplore and I find in root folder one rly big folder. That folder is /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache that I deleted and get around 1500MB of space. Seems to be some like thrash from Google Play Store. Root needed.
Ok, that helps me a lot. I will go on and root my XZR again. Think it is simple.
And by the way I read in your signatur that you have root and no recovery.
Here is the way to get a working recovery:
http://www.naldotech.com/install-xzdualrecovery-xperia-devices-android-5-0-lollipop/
I will try it out, when I have root, but I think it will work!
Greetings Lemmi.

yea i know this but in Z forum some1 try this method and said didn't work, also on official thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606&page=518 of XZDualRecovery is reported as no working. So keep waiting
All you need is Link2SD, I have a lot of apps installed on my phone, yet I still have over 2GB of free memory left
Do link2sd really work with our xperia zr? Cause on 4.4.4 we must do a workaround, cause if dont you end in a bootloop.
Can I use it without any problems on Lollipop now? I will try it, but it could be better, when I know problems before they happen
An how big you make the sdext partition on sdcard?
Just tried FolderMount for ColorDict and Telegram and both work fine.

There's no need for any workaround. I have an 8GB SD card (I don't know its class right now, doesn't matter), and I've split it 5 - 2:
-5GB for the sdcard1 partition,
-2,2GB for the sdext partition, which the Link2SD app uses.
There is a guide that tells you how to format your SD card right, the best way is via the MiniTool Partition Wizard.
If you've selected ext2 in that app, you want to select EXT4 in Link2SD. That way, when you reboot, everything will be fine.
This is because I've seen many bugs when it comes to creating mount scripts - you select ext2, but when you reboot, nothing happens.
Ok, good news.
I knew link2sd well from my old smartphone.
But I always formated the sdext partition with ext4 and normaly it worked. Hope so here too, cause it may be faster.
My SD is about 32 GB, so I can make a bigger partiton. But I think 2 GB should be best.

So do I. The guys at the Xperia M section helped me out a lot with Link2SD
Right now I had made a sdext partition of 2 GB and formated it 4ext.
After starting link2sd and setting mountscript to 4ext I get a bootloop Dont work!
Think I need a fix or a new remount boot fix for XZR. Think the old for kitkat will not work or will it?
Hello people.
Just updated my ZR to lollipop, yet I am suffering form the lack of internal storage, moving apps to my 64gb SD card seems useless, it refuses to transfer large data files to the SD card, like OALD 8 have a 450 mb data file that needed to be placed in the internal storage.
the ZR is really nice fast device but it`s internal storage is so horrible that makes you think seriously about changing the phone .
any help how to free some internal storage with out root?

Try uninstalling apps that you don't use. ARTS in Lollipop needs much more space than Dalvik, so every app counts. This is also true for system app. I uninstall several system apps, mostly from Sony. Then most important of all, after all these, wipe Dalvik and cache in recovery and let the system re-create them again. This process increase the free internal space from 500MB to > 1GB for me.

Of course it is needed even with Lollipop. Foulder Mount or Titanium Backup cant use SD1 without.
