[Q] Lumia 925 bricked - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed windows phone 10 preview and did not work. could not show main page, i had a loading text and some point moving forever. the phone did this loading all night and did not work. So i installed the recovery app on my computer wich detected my phone and start downloading 1,57 gb software to reset my phone. After that is said that the update failed and i have to restart my phone by pressing volume down and power to try again. I did that and the phone is dead. I can't start, restart, reset whatever. Can anything be done anymore ? Thanx a lot folks.

please help trying to update firmware via kies and now tab stuck at download screen!

i installed kies and connected my tab for the first time.. and a update pop up showed up and i thought oh ok i should upgrade then.. it took a long time to download the files it gave an error once then gave me the option to download the firmware again.. so i clicked on try again.. now the download was complete but my tab is stuck on the download screen for hours and it says do not turn off target.. :S im so stuck here .. kies does not detect my galaxy tab.. i haven't restarted any thing not my pc nor the tab for 5 hours now .. it was plugged in ever since.. what do i do now ?? please help me out please i beg of you!!
Calm down dude. Is there a blue progress bar in the download mode? If NOT then its perfectly safe to press the power button and turn off the tab. The Do Not turn off target warning mesage relates to the fact of actual flashing when the tab is in the flashing sequence manifested by a blue progress bar. If there is a blue progress bar and its stuck try to close kies and fire it up again see if its detected or not.
okay i just uplugged my device and restarted and it seems like the firmware didn't get installed for some reason... its working now.. thank god :S :S

This just happened to me and glad it all worked out for you. Mine wasn't so easy so I'm replying in the hopes I can help other noobs going through the same problem.
While updating my P6200 using Kies, the Tab got stuck while downloading ICS and it wouldn't reboot or do anything beyond the error message screen. After stressing about this all night, I finally had success this morning. Long story, short key points:
- Run Kies as Administrator (Shift&Control while clicking, or right click and select Run as Administrator; WIN8: right click Kies app and select Run as Administrator down below)
- Select Emergency Firmware Recovery from Tools in Kies.
- When Kies is done downloading firmware, check the box ensure the Tab is fully in download mode(Power off, Power and Vol down button, Vol up button to proceed), and only now reconnect to your computer. (Doesn't matter that computer hasn't recognized it up to this point).
- Click to start emergency recovery.
- Go back to step 1 if it fails to fully download the firmware. It took me twice.

SGS I9000 Hard Bricked? Is there solution? Help please!

Idol 4S endless boot

I have been using this phone since it first came out with no problems. Two days ago, all of a sudden, my phone started acting up, rebooting itself and sometimes it would take 5 boots to get past the Alcatel screen, however, it decided to not go past the logo screen. It just sits there going into an endless boot. I tried going into recovery mode but for the life of me I can't get it to boot! Is there any way I could boot it into recovery mode or flash the stock image from my computer? I can boot it into download mode but that's it. Please let me know how to fix it,l. Any help would be appreciated
i have the same problem. sending it to servis on Monday.. btw it starts when you plug it into charger when there is '' blue '' Alcatel logo.. (when its starting)..

i ended up sending the phone to the repair center. i have tried everything i can think of and there is no way of fixing it from my part. i bought an iphone 7 plus 128gb for the meantime. im going to stick with it till the s8 comes out or the iphone 8
Same issue here, it would eventually boot up, but wouldnt last more than half a hour then freeze and back to ground zero, and at some point it just stopped even showing the logo, it would not respond in any way when powering it on, and when plugged on the charger the notification LED would keep flashing and thats it. Pretty sure its a board issue and can't be fixed through software, its just a badly designed board with bad parts
@C4RB0 have you tried running Sugar QCT on it and redoing the stock rom?
What model are you using? I have the Cricket 6055U and I love it once I got TWRP on it and cleaned up all the bloatware and tweaked alot of other settings in the build.prop. Running great, improved battery life n such
I'm using the 6071W, but It had an issue with the battery after about a year of use, so I replaced the battery and now this happens, and a guy said that he tried this sugar thing and it didnt work, plus it doesnt even show the logo now, it's just a black screen, and I can't access the bootloader or anything
Just for [email protected]#$ and giggles, shut your phone off. Plug it into your PC. Hold Vol+, Vol-, and Power. Hopefully a red screen shows up asking if you want to go into download mode. Let me know if that produces any results.
nope, nothing, I'm gonna try to tamper its hardware, take off the battery for a few minutes, heat up the chipset, etc...

Reverting to CRK1

I need some help getting back to CRK1. I updated to DRL7 using the Update.zip method, and now when i try to odin the crk1 files back it just fails after it says "Setup Connection".
I don't get an error Flash
I've wiped both in the phone and in recovery
I've tried downloading the CRK1 files from two different sources
Ive tried an "official" odin and a "modded Odin"
I've tried USB 2.0 port and USB 3.0 port
I've used CSC Home and NON Home
I don't know what the hell is blocking me, or if I'm doing it wrong. Am i just doomed to stay on this dead end beta forever? Biometrics stop working in the background and i have to restart my phone to get in to it without using my damn passwords (Apps too) and my banking app just doesn't work on it in General after the update. I even wiped it and reinstalled and I need my bank app.

If it's on windows 10 that's the problem. You need to use windows 7. I don't know why but that's what a lot of people are running into.
My pc at work and home are v10....................must be another way.

Try a different windows 10 then because it's working on some but not others.. I had to install windows 7 in a virtual machine on my Ubuntu server in order to flash back because it wouldn't work on Vista either..
Tried with my work PC and home PC, no success.

Finally got it to work w/success...................however, it's in a bootloop..........will reboot to the Sprint logo screen.......then show the small dialogue of android apps...........then reboots again................any advice to get out this?
I am only able to get back to downloader mode.

If you're downgrading, you'll have to do a factory reset or you'll get a bootloop.
I just want to get out of the bootloop..............know where I can get the previous version of the stock rom that I can try via Odin? the one we got in November would be what I am looking for...................I can get into downloader mode so that's what I want to try
Did you try to get into Recovery mode and then delete cache and then do factory reset? Or are you saying that you are stuck on the download screen and can't turn the phone off?
I just did the Odin on mine to go from DRL7 back to CRK1. When using Odin (regular, not patched) I did it on my Win10 laptop. I ran Odin as an administrator and it worked perfectly first time. I did unselect the Auto Reboot option. I waited until Odin ran all the way through until it gave me the success and it said Pass. I unplugged the USB cord and manually restarted. It started off in a strange looking download screen and said error. I was able to get it to turn off and went into the recovery mode where I deleted cache and did the factory reset. This time when I rebooted the system, it started all the way up.
I was able to get the Odin to work and pass......I unplugged and it rebooted on its own, however, it would get to the logo, then Sprint logo screen, then show the dialogue "optimizing android apps"......but reboot again, same process over and over........never could get it to power off. I would do the combination of button presses for recovery and wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried. I could do the button presses to get to downloader mode and then once I hit cancel, it would go back to the reboot loop again. I even went to a nearby Sprint store and the techie there did the same as me, no success. He recommended that I take to one of the repair Sprint stores since they have the capability to connect it to a computer. I ended up going back home and trying some more. Finally, after six hours of phone not able to boot correctly, I got it into recovery mode. I had started hitting the Bixby button repeatedly with either volume up or down pressed at the same time..........then while still hitting the Bixby button, I pressed the volume up/down buttons and held them both down at the same time..............then viola, recovery mode! I was able from that point to apply the DRL7 update that was already on my device.......so finally got back up and running. Very thankful I got it back up in time because when it did boot up, battery was down to 13%............if the battery had drained completely, not sure what I could have done.

My Note 8 Had a Bootloop then never turned on / charged [PLEASE HELP]

Hi Guys this is my first time posting here and hoping to find a solution to what I'm experiencing right now.
This is actually the second time and what happened is that my phone got into a BOOTLOOP so of course, Ideally the first thing I did was to forced it to shutdown using the Volume down + Power button combination and so I did, the phone turned off, But after that, When I tried to turned it on again, it won't turn itself on. I even tried to hold various button combinations but to no avail, nothing worked. Aside from that, I have tried to plug in the charger periodically after 20 - 30 seconds with the same interval before plugging it out and repeated the cycle for 20 tries but same result, it didn't worked as well..
So I'm here hoping that someone will be able to help me out as I don't know what to do anymore and I badly need to use my phone for my studies as well.. :crying::crying:
Hello @johnmark21t, I will do my best to help you to figure out what's going wrong with your Note8
Have you tried to boot into download mode (volume down + Bixby + power button) ? Does it work or not ?
If you can't boot your device into Recovery Mode then the motherboard is fried. You are better off getting a new device rather than replacing the motherboard

That's what I'm also thinking about but I cannot comprehend as to why it became like this as my phone was just on standby mode and then just turned off by itself and by the time that it restarted, it was stucked on the Samsung logo in which after I saw that it was like that, I have forced restarted it so I think that's my last conclusion but I don't think that that is the case for me...
What rom and what kernel you have what modes?. What twrp you have? You have flash wrong rom? Wrong kernel? Is impossible for the phone to turn in boot loop mode itself. You did something wrong before the bootloop. Try volume up and Bixby and power button for 30 secs. Or volume down and Bixby and power button for 30 secs. Motherboard failure no give you boot loop. Give you blue screen. Try to flah with Odin is the easy way.

Unfortunately I'm only at stock, not even rooted and I don't have custom recovery mode installed.. all in stock. Even the Odin mode is inaccessible as well.. and again I didn't do anything prior before this happened..
Try connecting your device to a computer with Smartswitch installed and run the emergency recovery process. If that doesn't work then I would recommend that you take your device to a Samsung Service Center and let them take a look at it.
However you should be able to repair your issues using Smartswitch.

Download and install Smartswitch onto your computer. Then connect your device to your computer and launch Smartswitch. If your device is detected by Smartswitch then launch the Emergency Recovery Process.
I'd like to dig this topic out.
I'm also experiencing bootloop after latest OTA update. I've taken device to Samsung Service and they told me that it's faulty motherboard and they want to charge me 1300pln which is about 335$ so I'm like - Hell no, it's not worth it.
Anyway, I'm kind of sceptical about whole fried motherboard story, since recovery mode is working correctly, download mode is showing up as well. I tried to flash same firmware as it has now. It passed but result is the same.
Gonna download some older SW version and try again but maybe any other suggestions from you guys?
UPDATE: Older SW version downloaded and result is still the same. So yeah, screw it

Try flashing firmware that's at least one update above the version you have on the phone and after you flash it in Odin and it finishes with a "PASS" then go into recovery mode and do a factory reset in fact try doing a factory reset right now just to see if it'll work since you have nothing to lose at this point.

Any update on your phone?
I hope there's a class-action lawsuit about this. My Note8 had the same problem. An OTA update was done, and the phone shut off, never to turn on again. No combination of buttons powered the phone on at all.
