Battery Draining Faster Than Charge Lolipop - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i just updated my phone to lolipop and now my baterry is draining even while charging.,.
i did both direct phone install and after hte problem started i did pc companion install.
this is wierd and it cant be a battery issue coz phone charges well when its switched off

Any chance that the device was downloading and re-installing all your apps from Google Play when you experienced that?

I'd suggest a factory reset but you must flash a safe kernel first.. Since its not safe to factory reset from stock ics kernel

Easiest and most safest way.... take it down to Samsung Service Center and have their tech check your phone.
You mention that this issue only happens when your using your phone. So it's NOT giving you any kind of issue when your phone is in standby mode right? If so maybe other alternatives, is to turn off your mobile data (that drains a lot of batt and makes your phone's camera part hot as well).
Use it without DATA on (or WIFI on).. e.g. just use it for calling, SMS and etc. See if it'll shutoff still (or not anymore).

[Q] sony xperia z problem battery

my problem is that it charges the battery up to 100% and as soon as I get it off charge drops to 99% because it goes away? before updating the cell to 100% as I lasted lasted to the iPhone, is now impossible..! since I switched updating 253 I've this problem but they are not able to solve in any way, I thought it was a bug in the update and what not given much importance, but when I saw it, despite having done upgrade to 4.2.2 from pc compation i have not solved the problem remained .. how can I do to fix it?

ZR 4.3 Update Bug 3G/Mobile date issues + battery drains faster

Guys can anyone point out a solution...
ever since the update via pc companion....
3g line/mobile data is on but only whatsapp/line messages can be recived and sent. But when trying to download attachments, it cant. FB, playstore and gmail cant work coz of the network error. tried other simcards.... all have same problem. wifi works fine though....
even on stamina mode, battery drains FAST.

Yes right battry is really draining fast
I don't think so. Battery is a big improvement for me. I can get 7hours screen on a day with my mobile data which is always on. Maybe i can save more battery if i'm using wifi.

Open Settings>More>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names ,then open the access point for your service provider
and make sure that the "Proxy" is Not set ,which means that there is no numbers there.
i was facing the same problem and it was solved by this way.
and about the battery draining ,i haven't faced this issue so far ,i think you coul factory reset your device and try to calibrate your battery ,cuz for me the battery has been improved from 4.2 to 4.3
battery is a great improvement on 4.3 .. you can try flash via flashtool 4.3 ftf . it worked for me.. no issues and like i said.. battery on 4.3 is better then previous versions of android..
Unfortunately, I must disagree on this...
My ZR, which is old 10 days and upgraded to 4.3 works like a piece of **** (sorry, I'm rather nervous already).
Over night and when everything is off (BT,WF,MD, all processes that can be stopped), draining of the battery is 2% per hour. When in use for calling or just setting something, it drains 1% on each 5-6 minutes!
When surfing via WiFi it drains 1% every 3 minutes!
Now, comparing with my previous Nokia E7 where battery of 1200mAh lasts for 3-5 days regardless of usage, this ZR with battery of 2300mAh and Android 4.3 - sucks!
Bro root your phone and unlock your bootloader and put cm11 you will have the best battery backup regardless of use age

Severe Battery Drain after Marshmallow update

My phone (Spice Uno) use to last 2 days on standby with wifi enabled on lollipop but ever since the marshmallow update it can't barely last more than 14 hrs that too on standby let alone usage . Factory reset hasn't helped either. Any body else facing the same issue? Whats the fix?
battery drain is subjective since not all users have this issue. I advice you to downgrade to lollipop or kitkat until google sends out a fix.
How old is your phone? Could this be the battery going out?

I think you should reflash the marshmallow rom in your device.
May be the issue reolves after that.
I was having the same issue on upgrading to marshmallow. I cleared the dalvik cache and normal cache and that fixed it.
I'm having same issue. Android One Mito Impact A10 for Indonesia is being kept awake all the time after the update to Android M. Its battery life becomes poorer. Not being able to enter deep sleep mode kills the battery overnight. :/
Factory reset, using only preinstalled app, minimum push notification and location access, and using no external sdcard didn't help at all.
spice dream uno is suffering!!

Having the same problem on my Karbonn Sparkle V. I even tried it on Aeroplane Mode but the problem is still there. I'm also having CPU overheating issues.
Not a device problem, my phone was fine last week when I was on Lollipop.
Try to reboot your phone to safe mode. Let it sit for a while, then open the Battery to see if "Awake" is still active. If not, reboot your phone again. This worked for me
Guys try this,
Remove your Google account from the device and your battery life will be better than ever.
For some reason the phone tries to keep syncing even if that is disabled.
Same issue with Nexus and they are waiting to get the next update which will have the fix.
Drawback: your recent's and favorite contacts will not show the names
caller ID will not show the name of the caller
but the phone will work well

What is "Awake"? Not seeing anything like that in the battery section.

Sir can u please say how to downgrade to lollipop... Without PC?
The same issue here. I have Micromax Android One. On Lollipop, a 8hr standby drained just 2 or 3% battery. And now on Marshmallow, a 3 hr standby sucks 10-15%!!!

Its not subjective in this case. Almost all users after the update are facing this issue. If the battery is 100% at bedtime, in the morning it drops to 80%. This is indeed bad.
If google doesn't send a fix soon, better to downgrade to lollipop else it may even kill the battery for good. But then those who have started to take advantage of the adoptable storage feature will loose all their data on the sd card.
Guys do you plan to downgrade to 5.1.1 ? I am not rooted but have the OTA zip file.
I had similar problems with battery drain. I just factory reset my device and its all gone. 1% battery drain yesterday night(8 hrs).

The first charge cycle after reset works fine..but it gets back to draining on the second and third cycle.. I have already reset 3 times. Can't revert back to 5.1.1 the new stock recovery appears to be locked some how..
