In your title you put moto x gen 2. Which this thread is for moto x gen1. If the OTA bricked your phone I would guess you had miss matched partitions and probably something you did prior to the OTA. Hope it was a Dev edition since you said your bootloader was unlocked. Only Dev editions are covered by warranty with unlocked boot loader s.

I have a motorola X with unlocked bootloader, but the flash another ROM, remains intact the stock ROM. So when I try with a custom recovery also remains the stock recovery.
I want flash my phone since all process stops, and sometimes off by itself.
Thanks for any help and excuse me my english.
Model: Moto X 1053 Nextel México.
I dont think that the bootloader of your phone is properly unlocked... From what i understand your post is saying that whenever you flash anything the whole mobile doesn't takes any affects... So still it must be Write Protected... AFAIK... Do this test and make sure that your Boot loader is completely unlocked...
Power off your phone
Wait for 5 Seconds
Press and hold power button and volume down button simultaneously for 4 seconds then release those buttons...
And look out for a yellow line or a any other white line saying Device Status Code
If your bootloader is properly unlocked it must say: Device is unlocked: Status Code 3
If it gives you any other status code... Then your Boot loader might be relocked thats why it must be saying bootloader unlocked on the startup by which i assume you are saying bootloader is unlocked... Checkt these out and tell us... We are always here to help others android owners..
Good luck..

Okay so i saw the screenshot.. Its properly Bootloader Unlocked..
Now the chances might be that your stock recoverry is either corrupted or damaged because your phone's factory reset is not working.. Flash the stock firmware of your phone through RSD LITE... Flash the 4.4.4 version and dont donwgrade... And after flashing the stock firmware... try flashing recovery again. Find the stock firmware of your device according to your model... find the model code at the lower back side of your phone its really tiny so you to have twist the phone to make it visible...

Hey guy's my motox xt1097 as been busted for a whyle but woundering if a ffix was done yet?
My moto boots but stops at the bootloader unlock warning..i can boot in recovery but the recovery is corrupted of missing..
i have downloaded the moto toolkit but can't seem to do mutch with it...
is there a way to fix it?
telus network R347XQ2VQ5
The 1097 is a gen 2 (2014) model. This is the forum for the original 2013 gen 1.
In any case, if you can boot to bootloader or get to fastboot, you can flash a new recovery and ROM. Easy Google find for fastboot guides.
oh just noticed..sorry..i tried all of that even with the toolkit but it still james at that bootloader screen..
Hi android enthousiasts
My 5 month old moto x 2014 recently got bricked, although I don't know why. I bought the phone new and it was all fine until the marshmallow update. I never rooted or unlocked the bootloadet but it still says: software status: modified. I didn't think much of it untill recently when I tried to turn the phonr on, I got the error: hab check failes, boot image check failed, fastboot reason: fall-through from normal boot mode. The phone has been stuck in fastboot ever since. I did use kingroot before but it failed and didn't root the phone. Later I installed busybox which didn't work because I didn't have root, so I removed it. I've already tried factory reseting the device using recovery but that didn't work. Motorola says I voided my warrenty because I rooted it, but I didn't... so what should I do? The bootloader is still locked so I can't fix the phone myself. So what do you guys think? How can I convince Motorola I didn't root the phone?
solution
Ok guys I found the solution but can't post links but just google this for all moto xt1092 firmware: Android-Hilfe Moto x xt1092 firmware, for the tutorial google: flash stock lolipop firmware on moto g and go to the first link (xda) hope this helped
Hi people of XDA,
I have had my Moto G 2014 LTE for a while.
It was my previous daily driver before I managed to f*** it up.
A short while after getting the device I rooted it and installed Cyanogenmod, not too long after I wanted to go back to stock.
I knew how to do go back to stock as had previously been messing about with my Moto G XT1068.
What I ended up doing was locking my boot loader before flashing the stock ROM.
I then managed to delete everything on the internal storage.
I can get into fast boot but can't flash anything, due to the fact that
the bootloader is locked.
I have no recovery or OS.
HELP!
https://techorfy.com/stock-rom-firmware-moto-g5s-plus/
i followed this guide and i used this Firmware for my MOTO G5S Plus, i want the latest Oreo back on it.
I unlocked my bootloader and flashed the latest firmware now from the site called "SANDERS_RETAIL_8.1.0_OPS28.65-36-14_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml" and i flashed a new logo. It's on the Motorola screen and says bad key on the side now.
thankfully, i can still access fastboot menu and also i can access recovery. What do i do? it's stuck on the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" screen? It says your device will boot in 5 seconds but it's been 2 minutes so far and nothing's happened
what do i do?
My Motorola G5S Plus Model number is XT1803 and it's from Europe.
EDIT : FIXED FIXED! use Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant, more info in my reply.
Nevermind guys! i fixed it! just use the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant, Select Moto G Plus 5th Gen S in the Moto Phone section of the Flash Section of the program, let it download the firmware and hit restore, it will work 100%. My phone is working as normal again
gonna keep it unlocked bootloader, i cba to relock anymore.
